Midweight 250 Merino-X

$110.00 USD

Color/PatternFirst Lite Cipher

From cold September mornings in the Rockies to late October sits in your favorite oak with leaves on the ground, the Kiln Quarter Zip provides maximum versatility to get the job done throughout the season. The evolution of our best-selling Chama QZ, the Kiln Quarter Zip incorporates a mid-coverage collar and quarter zip neck into a re-engineered fit using our new midweight 250 Merino-X fabric to create an essential tool for your kit. Worn as either a first or second layer, its guaranteed to keep you comfortable and odor-free all season long.

The Kiln Midweight 250 Merino-X fabric utilizes ultrafine, 18.5 micron merino wool in a high loft, interlock knit to create styles that surpass expectations in the broadest range of temperature and weather conditions. Blending a small component of spandex into this knit, these lofted interlock pieces can withstand extended hunts in the field, regardless of the season.

The Kiln midweight 250 Merino-X is also available in a men's crew and hoody.

I LOVE this piece.

This shirt is the BOMB. I wear it has a next to skin base layer in temps as high as 60-65 and well down in the teens. It breathes great, drys quickly and most importantly keeps my body temp comfortable.

Perfect Mid-Layer!

I bought this as a mid-layer between my Wick Hoody and Puffy Jacket, and it couldn't be more perfect for the task! The quarter-zip makes it easy to pull on and off over other layers, and the fit is just the right amount of snug to hold in the body heat. For early season hunting, I didn't wear it too much until the nighttime temps dipped into the low 30s, and then it became a lifesaver inside my sleeping bag. Same quality merino you expect from First Lite, and didn't smell at all after a week in the backcountry.

This shirt sold me on Merino wool

Wow. Nice, stretchy and comfy. I bought this during the flash sale to give Merino wool a shot. I wore it around the house and yard for a couple days. Then I wore it on a bicycle ride of an hour and a half with temps around 50-55 degrees F. I wore enough to sweat a bit. No itch and was warm when damp. Also, no wet wool smell. I recommend this as a base layer as you don't need to go lighter. As far as sizing, I followed the website recommendations for a medium size even though I almost always wear a large. The sizing recommendations were right on.

Great base layer

I always wondered how those old timers wore wool year round. Now i know. Amazing product. Warm when it needs to be cool when it needs to wick sweat.

Great Shirt

I wore this under my Wick Short Sleeve Crew and a jacket. When I would get a bit warm just unzip for a quick cool down, or zip back up to retain the body heat. Definitely a great addition to my shirt collection.
