I wouldn't say I'm a hunter, I would say that I'm a hiker/backpacker that has hunted. Finding lightweight everything is important to me, but it must also be functional. When you average temp is 100+ you want/need gear that will let you breath, that wicks and is feather light. Most sport shorts that meet this requirement for hiking are too short in the inseam making you look like you are going to run a marathon, do a cross-fit challenge or they are crepe like with too many pockets and feel like they should come with a side of granola. These shorts on their own are a great casual short, they would look good on a casual evening out, but they are great for hiking. I wore them recently on a 107 day to water got them wet, they dried in minutes. Best of all on my 7 mile hike I never really "felt" them , I was not weighed down. Yet, they feel rugged, like they can take punishment and provide protection.
Sizing is right on. Im a big guy and most performance wear is not sized for big guys but these shorts were right on. I wore them without a belt but did not feel constricted. I had plenty of room in the crotch. The material stretches nicely and very comfortable. The Ash Grey is a great neutral color that works in the outdoors .
I will be buying another pair soon.
I didnt think the company could improve the corrugate, but I was wrong. These are my new favorite shorts for just about any occasion. They are constructed from much lighter weigh fabric that the old style shorts and feel quite a bit more breathable. The fabric also feels like it will resist piling for a much longer time the old style . I'm going to order another set in the new grey color to wear around town (in my flip flops)
Really knocked it out of the park with these shorts!! Light, Super comfy, no inseam restrictions and ample pocket depth. The sizing seems pretty accurate with the other product line items. If you are in between a little in the waist go ahead and size up. I'm always stuck in between sizing with different pants. The new Ash Grey is a great look to the arsenal and these shorts can take you from the boat to the beach or bayou and back to the bar.
Love the Fit and how light and comfortable these shorts are. Great Value Purchase, Highly Recommend.
While I have not done anything more than taken my shorts out of the box and strutted around the house in them. I can say, these shorts are going to be awesome. Imagine a combination between your favorite pair of swim trunks and corrugated guide material. Together you get the Guide Light Shorts (same 37.5 nylon as the pants) They seem durable and are extremely light. My FAVORITE parts about these shorts, 1) The waist band. It is not skimpy, it seems almost canvas lined around the button and is silicon printed to keep them up around your waist. Honestly, if you're in need of a good pair of summer shorts that are light, you can hike around in or take to work. These are going to be it.
Sizing: I wear all Mens Smalls for my bottoms and generally wear a 28 or 29 waist pant. The 30's fit perfect. I don't feel I would HAVE to have a belt if I didn't need to, but will still sway that towards one. Perfect-Slightly Small would be the fit I would give them.
