Great Fit and Very Comfortable
I haven't had a chance to put this gear through it's paces just yet since it's still warm, but slipping it on is enough to tell how warm its going to keep me when the temps start to drop. Well thought out and constructed. Looking forward to staying warm on long sits in the bitter cold of NY.
I NEVER usually write reviews but here I am. My uncle that got me into hunting swore by this and rant and raved therefore I broke down and got the matching jacket & bibs. All I can say is WOW. I have frozen my butt off for YEARS and do not even wear unless its below 30 degrees. I no longer wear a neck gator because of the good fit of zipper. Never liked hoods on my jacket but love this one. This is the cat's meow for cold/late season bow hunting. If you are on the fence of getting it...its worth its weight in gold. Only small concern is that if you wearing it into the woods be cautious. It seems like the material could possibly tear if caught up on something.
Been using FL gear for a few years now and always wanted the Sanctuary gear. Bought the bibs and jacket. I wear Medium in everything else FL but I bought the jacket Large to fit over other layers, it’s perfect. The bibs I bought XL, I ordered large and ended up returning for bigger size, again to wear over other layers.
Both pieces are ridiculously warm and I will have no issue with multiple days in the stand all day
This jacket and bibs were exactly what I was looking for. I hunt exclusively in a tree stand in MN. I wanted something to keep me warm for long sits in cold weather, without all the layers. Amazing…..if you’re in between sizes, I would go smaller. FL’s exchange process is fantastic if you get it wrong.
Too early to tell how well my Sanctuary 2.0 bibs and jacket hold up to the cold this season, by all accounts they should be great. What I can comment on is the great customer service that I have received from First Lite to this point. The jacket that I had originally ordered came in quickly, however it was too small (my error). So I sent it back, no return/shipping cost, and they sent me a larger size very quickly. The whole process was very easy, and very quick. Now bring on the cold and snow, and we'll see how they perform in the field. Many thanks First Lite.
Feels like it's going to be a warm durable jacket/parka. Its a heavy duty jacket made for stationary Cold weather imo. It has a nice cut to the jacket for bow hunting. Wish the hood was detachable. I'm inbetween sizes. 5'10.5" 188lb. I ordered a large and it's a little too big with my layers on. Sleeves are a little long on me. I'm contemplating on returning for a medium but although I believe it will be perfect with no layers; I think it might be too small with layers. Wish I had both to try on. Overall I like it and would definitely recommend buying
Jacket is awesome it’s light and warm I sized up for this set from my usual large size for firstlite tops. Fits great in the arms and shoulders and just a little loose in the torso though for me but I’m a tall athletic guy. All in all great jacket though and I can’t wait to get out into the stand with it.
This suit is an absolute stud for the canadian whitetail woods warmth is off the charts perfect fit quiet water proof you name its got it
Bought the sanctuary set strictly for bowhunting in colder weather conditions. Going by their sizing charts i fell in the Large which fit perfect with a t shirt and shorts on. But knowing I would need to layer more I returned it for an XL, which fits a little big as is, but has room for layering and fits well with layers. So my review is listed as a bit large for the XL considering very minimal layering.
As for the clothing is top quality, love the kit link system, and the whole Sanctuary set will be put to the test this fall to see how warm it actually is, as I'm cold natured as my main reason for buying, along with the claim of a bowhunters cut.
As for the bowhunters cut there is ample room to draw a bow in the arm and chest area, but question the bowhunters cut with the oversized collar that sticks out and the heavy non detachable hood. That's my main complaint with this jacket, as I personally can not see a bowhunter leaving this hood on for a shot, as I would have liked to seen this hood detachable like the Solitude. As strictly a bowhunter, the collar and hood are not considered a bowhunters cut. As for bowhunting a balaclava and furnace beanie is enough, without the worries of a hood interfering with your anchor. As with the balaclava can be pulled down which fits tight around the neck area and will not interfere with your anchor, like the big collar will, my other bowhunters cut complaint. Can't tell you how many complaints I've read with these big collars and even claims of misses due to bowstring contacting it. As a Bowhunter it would be nice to see these collars redesigned to not stick out or up so high, and have the hood removable.
Really not sold on the new Specter either, as I would have opted for the older Fusion camo which I like better as it has more contrast between colors to break your outline, but the new sanctuary with wind proofing only come in Specter. I know a lot of research went into the Specter and and what a deer actually sees, but to me it does not have the contrast between shades like the Fusion camo, which seems more likely to have the blob effect without the contrasting difference between the shades.
