Where to start! How about the pockets. Nice and deep with a little elastic to lock the cold out want the heat in is awesome. If your still chilly and pair it with the bibs just unzip the side for access to the inner layer built in hand muff.💥 Then if temps drop and you need a little pick me up bust open some hand warmers and put them in the inner heater pockets and be feeling real nice! The over sized hood is great to keep the elements out and your comfort in. Last but not least the safety slot to feed you safety set up through which will allow you to use your hood still if need be.
Customer service recommended this jacket to cover most of the Michigan deer season. With minimal layering (furnace and wick) this jacket is as warm as I need for winter. Used it ice fishing all winter in the wind and was always comfortable. The pockets are tough to get my hands into especially wearing any glove. The pass through pockets are in a bad place for hunting out of a saddle so the convenience of access to the bib pocket didn't work for me. This jacket is soft and comfortable. Long length is nice, but does make putting on tough while in the saddle. These are saddle problems in general and not a fault of the product. I recommend this jacket if wavering between this and the heavier one.
This jacket is the real deal. I wore this in temps from 50 down to 15. When the temps became low, I threw on some kiln base layers and Sawtooth Hybrid vest and stayed toasty all day long in the stand. Even the wind couldn't stand up to this jacket. In my opinion, it is the perfect whitetail kit for Late October thru late November whitetail hunting.
I film/photograph hunting for a living and need minimal amounts of gear that cover a large range of conditions. I love he jacket, its super warm but i wish the cuffs had a bit more room. I understand they are built tight to allow room for shooting a bow but it can get tight when layering underneath. I often dont bring rain gear when i have this jacket because it keeps me dry in the amounts of rain Im willing to sit in
I've always had cheap gear from other stores that made me feel like a marshmallow. This set is the most conformable and best fitting gear I've worn. I bought the bibs and jacket back in October. I've hunted down into the teens and stay comfortable with a merino tee, kiln and furnace tops. My only gripe is the damn collar is way too tall. It is very annoying. Great stuff!
I wore this jacket and the bibs on a late season whitetail hunt. The temps were in the teens. I had the klamath 1/4 zip and a base layer long john. I was sweating while walking to the stand. I unzipped the jacket and side vents and that helped. Once in the stand I was able to sit for several hours and did not get cold. Highly recommended.
Revamped my entire hunting kit this season. Purchased the obsidian pants catalyst jacket kiln hoodie sawtooth vest and my favourite pieces the Solitude jacket and bib combo. The jacket is by far the warmest and most ergonomic piece of gear I’ve ever worn. For reference I’ve walked into many blind setups wearing jacket, bibs, kiln hoodie, sawtooth vest and fuse long johns in temps ranging from 12 degrees To negative 8 degrees Celsius (sorry yanks for my hoser temps) and never found it to be too warm or shy of wind breaking ability and insulation warmth for countless hours on stand. The full length zippers on bibs are great for ventilation while hiking in as well as the pass thru zippers on jacket. I primarily hunt private ground and my walks in are no more than 2 Km front truck. I’ve never found the need to pack these in, I normally walk slow are careful into my spots and never found these to be too warm. I’ve owned many different brands of gear in the past from entry level to high end and I realize that the gear won’t make you successful...however with all of the First Lite pieces I own I’ve never been more comfortable in the field. If your comfortable you tend to stick it out just a bit longer and sometimes that means the difference from a freezer partially filled or tag soup. You won’t regret it!
I have paired this with the Sanctuary bibs, furnace tops and bottoms, and Tundra Balaclava; and this is such a great kit for the Upstate/Western New York region hunting the snow belt region. This has been a great combination that has kept me warm in any type of weather, precipitation, or wind. Temps have been into the teens, and have has no issues in a stand for 6 hours. The comfort and fit is incredible. Although it may be too comfortable at times. After spending thousands of dollars over the years searching the the best hunting kits, I have finally found my brand! First Lite is definitely an investment into your warmth, comfort, and season success. If you're warm and dry you can focus on finding that buck you've searching for. You'll be able to stay in the stand through the snow squall to catch the rutting buck try to sneak by. This kit has been so great! I will definitely be buying another kit for early to mid season bow hunting.

I bought the bibs and loved them so I had to get the jacket to finish it off. This jacket is so well created. The open pass through pocket to the bibs is a game changer. Also this jacket is so quite it doesn’t make any noise.
The first weekend I took them out it snowed off and on all day and this jacket kept me warm and dry. Love it and can’t wait to keep using it.
So picture it Missouri Dec 5th. Brisk 25 degrees outside and you’re duck hunting. Some ice on the water when suddenly some ducks come to land. Bang bang. 2 hit the water with a splash. You’re so excited you hustle to get them picked up. As you’re wading through the water you suddenly trip and go head first diving into the depths. The dang tree seems to be holding your leg. When you come up all you can feel is the water to the top of your waders. You grab the ducks, head to shore. Get out of your wet clothes and all you have is a jacket. You climb back in the blind and wrap yourself in the jacket and start to feel warm again after a bit. ( true story ) this jacket was all I had that wasn’t soaked but putting it on allowed me to warm up for a bit and make the cold wet hike back to the truck. I can’t say enough how much I love this jacket now. I must have that’s for sure!
