I will have to say this is the warmest gear I have used so far! I only wore my thermal base layers in 25-35 and was very comfortable. Great pocket placement and love the connection with the bibs!! It does have a tall collar but it was not an issue when setting my kisser button.
My only gripe is the sizing. I probably should have went with a size up. I love the athletic cut but I feel that any more layers will be too much. I think I can fit a vest underneath but not another sleeved layer.
Bought the solitude bib and jacket for mid&late season north east white tail. The system is really great. When hiking to the stand the I found that you can unzip the pockets that provide access to the bib muff to let out excess heat. Then for your long sits, zip up the pockets to stay warm. The set is excellent at repelling moisture in a light rain, very quite and has lots of great pockets. Since ive picked this set up its been temps have been high 20's in the morning and mid 50's in the afternoon. This is really the sweet spot for this gear with a good base layer. I have used the bib in combination with the klamath hoody on the warmer days above 60F. It works just as good!
Shout out Duke @ first lite for being so helpful with all questions!
Been wanting a single layer heavy duty jacket for hunting and this jacket was a great choice first impression was very warm and had a cozy feel to it. I am taller with really long arms and the XL fits me perfectly.
Pros: insulated pockets are amazing
sat in the rain three sits in a row and the jacket never got cold my cheeper habit bibs soaked up the water and left me with cold legs. the jacket took on a little water but nothing to big
tall neck of the jacket was nice for the longer colder sits to bundle up with
cons: I am not sure how i feel about the hood i used it a little then removed it i will probably put it back on to try it again it wasn't bad just felt like it sat high above my head
overall it is an awesome jacket for cold weather that doesn't feel like it takes away all of your maneuverability i feel like i can still layer up under it or wear it with only a t shirt
I'm loving this kit the more I wear it. The material is ridiculously silent, and the pockets are exactly where you need them. It's warm without being too bulky. Definitely a more athletic fit, but WAY better for drawing a bow back from the stand. Very happy with the Jacket and matching bibs. Love the pass through pocket to the bibs, and really love the "sleeves" integrated into the pockets to keep the air out from your hands.
Quality jacket don’t know why they havent fixed the collar issue getting in the way of your anchor point with a thumb button as said in previous reviews, thought I was gonna have to send the jacket back but it’s not a big deal if you just tuck the collar in your neck just hope I don’t forget to do that before going out one day. Only other complaint would be first lite logo on the back is positioned where it runs the tree and I can see the “e” in lite is already starting to peel a little just because of were it’s placed and can run the tree the other logos and those are very quality just like the rest of this jacket.
perfect for the whitetail rut in wisconsin. Will be able to layer when it gets cold
Perfect fit and feels great. Has great features but not to many. Excited to put it to use.
This is the best jacket I have ever owned. I mainly treestand hunt and with just a few layers you will be completely comfortable in any weather. I recommend this to anyone and everyone
Very happy with the purchase. I normally wear all kinds of layers to stay warm while sitting in the stand. Not anymore. Had just a wool baselayer, thin fleece pullover, and this on to sit at 32'. Was perfectly comfortable and know I will be when it gets colder yet. The cuffed pockets were great, and I'' probably start using that more than bulky gloves. Hood offers great visibility side to side and lots of adjustment. The collar was surprisingly high, but that's something I'll probably learn to like once the wind and snow pick up. Sleeve's have a pretty long elastic cuff, so don't plan to wear a watch, but they fit great inside gloves. Looking forward to finishing off the season wearing this jacket, and will be looking at the bibs for next year,
Bought the solitude jacket and bib system for bow hunting in Wisconsin. This is easily the best gear I have owned. The material is incredibly comfortable, flexible, and light. You also can’t go wrong with the pocket set up. Cold, windy mornings or nights are not an issue with these. I highly recommend making the investment.
