I bought this shirt , something i could wear under my jacket and something to also wear without a jacket. It has served its purpose then some. I have switched between brands numerous times thinking i could find something better. Everything I buy from Firstlite out performs all others . This product is great for under layer or just wearing as an outterlayer. thank yo for building a great product that keeps me warm and cool on certain days.
I got the kiln crew as a Christmas present and it arrived after all hunting seasons closed. We are in a 3 week COVID lockdown and I have yet to wear another shirt. This things is really awesome. It feels great and does a really good jobs of not picking up odors. I washed it a week in and that was only because I dropped some greasy nachos on it and wanted to get the stain out- not because the shirt smelled at all. Its great at regulating temps. I wouldn't say its warm if its cool (sub 40 degrees) alone. When used as a base layer its incredible and feels like it enhances the performance of other layers. I look forward to wearing it this fall hunting if I dont wear it out before then.
Fantastic base layer shirt. Surpasses expectations.
Returned the large for a medium.
Makes an awesome base layer. Love the thumb holes in the sleeves makes getting layered up in the mornings quick and comfortable. Put this to the test in 60-70 degree weather with a Wick short sleeve and stayed cool. Also wore as a base layer along with a sweatshirt in late season stand hunts in 10-20 degree temps and kept me plenty warm. Fits nice but a little big, seems like it’s made to be tucked in but it works out when you’re layering a shirt underneath and a jacket on top. Another great product from first lite
Bought this to replace an Under Armor cold gear piece which smelled horrible after one use. First trial was running in 30f (-1 c) weather, was amazed on how wetb it got yet I was warm with no chill. I just came came back from a week long deer hunt that hit 14f (-10). Put many sweaty miles followed by many hours sitting and this shirt held up, I was warm and very rarely chilled. Worth every penny and look forward to adding more FirstLight gear to my kit.
I am super impressed with this product. I've worn these from duck hunting sitting in cold New Hampshire blinds to beating feet for miles in Iowa after pheasant. They keep you warm but have excellent breath-ability to limit sweating. Unlike other base layers I've worn in the past, these don't stink after a day or two or three of wear. On me these seem to run a bit large but not excessively so. Will definitely be buying more FL products for myself and encouraging others to look into them as well. I'm a huge fan of the thumb holes, they definitely help keep the sleeves down when adding mid or top layers, and limit cold airflow from gaps in the cuff. They fit comfortable under a glove without bunching up too.
Fits perfect and is very comfortable. Looking forward to trying it as an outer layer next year earlier in the archery season.
This piece is awesome. I love the thumb holes to keep the sleeves from running up on your arms. This piece is extremely versatile and will keep you comfortable through a wide range of temperatures. The merino wool is actually surprisingly durable and also dries relatively quickly compared to merino pieces from other companies.
These Crews are perfect for a baselayer. Super soft, great neck length, and the thumb holes help a ton when putting lets say a hoody over it.
The Kiln base layer is amazing, not bulky at all, but its the perfect balance of warm for the treestand or on the move spot and stalk hunting.
