EXP 350 Merino-X

Color/PatternFirst Lite Cipher

Whether you pulled a late-season elk hunt or are down to the closing bell in the treestand, First Lite's Furnace Long John is the perfect tool to help you punch that tag in cold weather. Using our Merino-X 350g EXP weight fabric, the Furnace Long John provides lofted insulation and protection from the coldest temperatures. Featuring flatlock seams, a brushed, jacquard waistband and an articulated fit, the Furnace Long John leverages the loft, structure and stretch of our Merino-X fabric to provide the ideal layering piece over our other lightweight, next-to-skin styles. This system is the new standard for stationary hunts or late season stalks when staying warm is critical to success.

Our Furnace EXP 350 Merino-X fabric incorporates a brushed (or fleeced) backside to our high loft, interlock knits to provide super-charged insulation without added weight. Adding this to the silent, odor-free benefits of merino wool, the Furnace merino is the hands-down choice for cold weather hunts.

The Furnace EXP 350 is also available in Henley and Quarter Zip Tops.

*More inventory expected in early summer.

Only base-layer you’ll need once the cold hits

Fit: 3
Product Size: M
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 180lbs - 190lbs
Fit Comments: I have larger thighs in relation to my waste so most wool bottoms are tight in the legs and loose in the waste. These fit perfect. I don't get any bunch up under my pants. Also, many times underlays are tight on the leg openings which I find reduces good blood flow and can get uncomfortable after a long day. These fit very nice.
Well built, warm

Well made and very warm. Generally, I pull these out when it gets in the 20 or below. They can be too warm if you are active in 30 degrees, sitting they are nice however. Best wool that I have used.

Best base layer pants I've ever worn. All the guys I hunt with got a pair after I talked them up. Warm, Lightweight, no smell, and comfortable through all types of movement. From tree stand hunting to stalking.

Like ‘em

I hesitated to get smalls, but am glad I did. Mediums would have been too loose with my skinny legs & butt. Wore them under insulated pants in cold and wind, and under waxed cotton in cold and rain. They will also make good under-wader pants when the water is not too cold. They are warmer than another outfitter’s “expedition weight.” Very happy with purchase. If you made a heavier “Blast Furnace” I’d get them too.

Fit: 3
Product Size: L
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 190lbs - 200lbs
Location: Alberta
Primary Use: Tree Stand
Fit Comments: Fit is true to size and very comfortable. Not constricting in any way and have the ability to fit over a larger calf muscle without stretching themselves out.
Excellent cold weather base.

Bought the long johns in October in preparation for November deer season. Bought them to pair up with the quarter zip shirt. The temperatures were below zero every day I was out, but I was very warm with this as my base. I have never been warmer than I have been this year. Perfect for cold November sits in Alberta.Perfect fit for me, not too baggy and not too tight. Moves well with your body and no seams sitting in any unpleasant areas. I have overly hairy legs and these are the first long johns I have ever owned that do not pull the hair during extended wear time. Very soft comfortable merino fabric. These also have a lower sitting waste than most other long johns, which is quite nice. I do not like it when the elastic sits over your belly button.
