I bought the vest and took it on a scouting trip but, didn't really need it yet. When I went to put it away, the zipper came undone from the bottom. When I tried to run the zipper down to get it undone and a couple teeth broke off. No problem, I contacted customer service for a warranty claim and that's pending.
First Lite already had a customer for life but, now I'm telling anyone who will listen too.
I’ve worn this vest only a handful of mornings while Bowhunting in Southeastern PA. It’s been a great addition to my First Lite lineup. I am very satisfied with the catalyst vest so far and will be wearing it more as we get deeper into the season.
I was excited to get this vest, I own the catalyst jacket as well and it has been bulletproof with whatever I’ve put it through and I expect the vest to be no different. Size was perfect if you plan to run a few layers underneath. I’ve been using it in the early season a ton running the kiln long sleeve underneath.
Told myself to get one vest this year had several folks recommend the Catalyst. So far it’s been awesome. Perfect to take that edge off a cold morning and great layering piece. Can’t way to see how it holds up layering in the cold. This thing is dead quiet too. Lots of pockets. Would definitely get again. I think this will be beneficial mostly for an outer layer for early-mid season but also will be great for a mid layer during the rut.
Comfy quiet great for early mid season pants ran a little big but the suspenders help out
Well constructed. Very comfortable. Perfect for elk bow hunt.
Excellent mid layer. Product was a little larger than I expected. I just added an extra layer underneath to adjust for the extra room in the vest.
I'm exchanging this piece for a medium. Like others, it runs large. I took a gamble thinking I would layer under it and it would work well with my build... but with Klamath Hoody and a marino wool (150g) still swimming. I'm 5'10, 170ish lbs. at the time of writing this, 172lbs. I have wide shoulders and my chest/ lat circumference is 43.5".
Hope this helps somebody decide.
perfect late early season to late season for layering. A bit large fit, but I dont like skin tight or compressed hunting gear. Under a jacket or over a hoodie should be money!
I am extremely pleased with this product, so far. The vest is very lightweight but is great for early summer mornings in Montana. The cut on it is solid. The pockets are extremely are well designed and help organize my fly cups, keys, wallet, nippers, hemostat, etc., when I am on the water. Can’t wait to try it as a layering piece during hunting season.
