Whether you pulled a late-season elk hunt or are down to the closing bell in the treestand, First Lite's Furnace Long John is the perfect tool to help you punch that tag in cold weather. Using our Merino-X 350g EXP weight fabric, the Furnace Long John provides lofted insulation and protection from the coldest temperatures. Featuring flatlock seams, a brushed, jacquard waistband and an articulated fit, the Furnace Long John leverages the loft, structure and stretch of our Merino-X fabric to provide the ideal layering piece over our other lightweight, next-to-skin styles. This system is the new standard for stationary hunts or late-season stalks when staying warm is critical to success.

Our Furnace EXP 350 Merino-X fabric incorporates a brushed (or fleeced) backside to our high-loft, interlock knits to provide super-charged insulation without added weight. Adding this to the silent, odor-free benefits of merino wool, the Furnace merino is the hands-down choice for cold-weather hunts.

I love the fabric and its thickness and warmth. Also have the furnace sweater and love it. I agree with other reviews though that the crotch area needs a complete overhaul. I have noticed a similar trend on other firstlite pants I own. It’s too short and if you wear the waistline where it’s supposed to be the inseam is almost up in your buttocks. I am 6.0 ft tall, weigh 185 lbs and usually wear pants with 32 waist and 32 length and bought a size Large . Apart from the crotch they fit well and I don’t think a larger size would solve the issue. Not enough of a fit issue to return it though for me.
