This hoodie is exceptional! It is wicking and great not only for early season whitetails and spring turkey but as a base layer in the mountains hunting elk and in Canada hunting bears!
I love the fit and the hoodie is great since I wear a baseball cap all the time.
I purchased this cap in November of 2020 for cold weather running and for mid to late fall hunting in Colorado. I have worn it at least 80 days at temperatures ranging from subzero to the low 40s and could not be happier. I wanted an adaptable, warm, breathable cap with a short brim that would not be itchy or uncomfortable and this was just right. It adapts well to various activity levels, so does not get too hot while running or too cool while sitting or stalking. It dries quickly and does its job. I wear a 7-1/4 to 7-3/8 hat size, and the large fits me as it should.
Bought this jacket for my archery Roosevelt elk hunt and it out performed my expectations. If you know anything about hunting these elk, you know it’s typically done in some of the nastiest country. I was rained on multiple times and waded through chest high blackberry and devils club bushes, and it performed flawlessly under those conditions. I stayed dry and it didn’t rip or tear. It’s definitely well worth the investment.
I bought these for an elk archery hunt in the Nez-Pierce National Forrest. Every day was a physical struggle. Hike until you're drenched in sweat, take a break, partially dry off, rinse and repeat. These underwear stayed comfortable throughout the duration of the hunt, they dried quickly, and I never had any issues with regards to chaffing. Would definitely recommend.
Just spent 13 days hunting Elk the rough country of the Gila Wilderness. While I did not tag out (no shortage of oppty tho) the Obsidian Merino pants were flawless. The weather ranged from raining all day to hot and dry. The pants dried quickly after hiking through crotch deep grass and were amazingly comfortable when the temps went up into the low 80's. The pockets are roomy and secure, the suspenders and the waist were super comfortable under my pack belt and the pants are dead quiet. They held up well with all the stickers and snags that you get in the Gila. Perfect early and mid season (with some wool long johns) bowhunting pants. I wont hesitate to get another pair.
My only feedback is knee padding would be a nice upgrade.
I purchased the gear bag kit for a fishing / float trip on the Kisaralik River in Western Alaska. The stuff sacks were handy and durable for dehydrated meal storage. The large Gear Bag was almost indestructible and kept my gear dry during river floats and 11 days of rain / misting rain. I fully knew the large Gear Bag was not designed for my intended use but it was flawless. I even had a fuel can rupture in the large gear bag. The interior of the bag was “sticky” but the material withstood the accident.
Great gear, tough as nails. Withstood commercial airlines, bush planes, float boat and eleven days of rain / misting rain without any issues.
