I bought this as part of my system for a 10 day elk hunt in Utah in September as my outer layer. I also wanted something that I could use for whitetail hunting which is what I primarily do in the east from Florida up through Kentucky. It has been a great piece of clothing for all conditions so far. We had several nights in the 30’s to high 20’s. It was warm with a wool base layer. It got a little warm with a pack on while hiking during the day when it hit 50 and I used the zips on the side as vents to regulate temperature which worked well. We also had some rain move through. It did a decent job of staying dry but I wouldn’t want to be caught in a down pour without a rain jacket.
I have also warn it tree stand hunting in Florida in 60 degree temp just to help keep the mosquitoes off me and it was comfortable without being too warm. I had a wick short sleeve shirt under it.
The fit is great and I like the hood. It fits over my head perfect without obstructing my peripheral vision and moves with my head when adjusted right. I love it.
Great jacket for early-mid archery season. I’ve worn this jacket in low 40s and I was plenty warm. Nice athletic fit. No complaints.
Really liked the Whitetail Catalyst jacket! Has plenty of pockets and a very quite jacket in the woods! Super pleased with it! Thanks Firstlite!
Nice early season jacket to mid season with good base layer. I’m 5’9” and 170. I have a small gut and the L fits great.
Big fan of the white tail catalyst gear. Wore the coat several times this year and love the pocket arrangement and how it flexes during movement with my bow. I noticed how silent it was the minute I put it on. I especially look forward to the cooler weather when I can layer it.
I received my order from First Lite and was very pleased with all the items I purchased. Fit was good and range of motion is great. Love the light weight for early bow seaon.
Great jacket, but customer service is lacking. Jacket went on sale a week later - they let me know they do price match for sales, but I would have to return the jacket back to them, and then repurchase. It appears they are intentionally making it difficult for customers, who will most likely not do this. Not to mention losing out on $30 shipping both times…..This is easily fixed if wanted.
Great soft shell, can be used into mid-November with layering where I hunt in the Northern NY. XXL was perfect size for me. The silence of the Catalyst is amazing.
I waited for opening day here in SW PA to get to wear my first lite out in the woods for the first time. I can tell you I already LOVE this gear. 40 degree morning and I decided to gear up with the wick long sleeve, kiln hoodie, catalyst jacket, and obsidian foundry pants. I am super comfortable and the gear fits excellent as well. Tremendous upgrade from my last camo gear. I could use the kiln long John pants for a morning like this, but i haven’t ordered them just yet. But the foundry pants were still enough as the temp is climbing into the 70’s today, so I would’ve shed the long Johns anyways. I’ll be using first lite gear from now on
