Very packable 9/6/2018

I'll start off by saying that this jacket was a fantastic addition to my hunting and fishing gear lineup! I typically have an issue with women's jackets fitting me properly, because for a short gal, I seem to have long arms and typically the shoulder region always seems to be too snug for comfort. Because of those reasons I chose to order a medium in the rain jacket. After receiving my rain jacket I was pleasantly surprised that it has plenty of room to spare in the shoulders and the arm length is long enough! In hindsight I wish I would have ordered a small, because I was amazed by the fit! I've worn the jacket while fishing the rivers here in Montana during the rain and snow of the late winter and early spring. I've noticed that it kept me dry and provided excellent windbreaking. I have also packed it with me on a few hikes while scouting for elk, and because of the material being so lightweight, I was able to roll it up easily and shove it into my EXO backpack.

How it fits
* Shooters cut provides excellent room in the shoulders and the arm length caters to us ladies with longer than average arm span!

I'm sizing up to go over the puffy 9/1/2018

I just got this in the mail, and it looks gorgeous. The "conifer" color is much more green than it looks like on my computer screen. It looks like I am going to order the next size up though. I am a L in the Aurora puffy, and it's probably my all-time favorite fitting jacket. This is designed to work with it--which I take to mean go over it--but it's tighter in places. Specifically, the hem on this jacket is an in or two longer than the puffy, and it's tighter than the puffy. So the bottom of this jacket is tight and constricting when I try to, say, climb up a steep hill. The rest of it fits great, and I was tempted to just suck it up and stick with the L--but my husband convinced me to order the next size up to compare. I wish the bottom jacket circumference was just an inch or two wider--then the L would be a perfect fit over my L puffy. Beyond the fit, I can't comment much--but it looks like a very well made jacket and I hope to find a size that works for me.

How it fits
Arms and shoulders feel great, but the bottom hem is constricting, very different than the puffy jacket.

Superior to others in performance, fit, durability, weight, & functionality. 8/31/2018

The Cascade Stormlight jacket is top notch. Superior attention to detail. Swishing Noise from the material is very minimal. Flattering shooters cut, with adjustable turret hood that provides ample range of motion with zero excess material. Strong durable, waterproof zippers. Breathability is great. I was able to comfortably pack in over a mile with my treestand synched to my pack wearing this jacket and a light wool t-shirt during August bow season. Surpasses the mark.

By fav my favorite jacket. This jacket is light weight and super breathable, I’ve worn out in the rain multiple times and its kept me nice and dry for such a lightweight jacket. I would highly recommend this jacket and it fits true to size!

Won’t Regret It 8/29/2018

As soon as I unpacked the jacket, I was impressed with the lightness and packability of it. Perfect for multi day hunts without losing out on protection. Jacket fit great, and the quality in the craftsmanship is astounding. I won’t need another waterproof jacket for awhile.

GREAT rain jacket! 8/18/2018

When I bought my first rain jacket from you in 2013, the dealer didn't have a women's yet, so I bought a men's small. This jacket has gone hunting with me twice in British Columbia. Both times we experienced rain EVERYDAY for 2 weeks and it never failed me! Plus we were horseback! I have used it numerous times hunting in-between those hunts. Bottom line, a very dependable jacket. I am buying another one because after all these years, the seams are starting to leak a little.

How it fits
My first jacket was a mens small. I haven't received the womens yet...

Passed the test! 8/10/2018

I had a chance to test this jacket during a storm in Canada while fishing. Pouring rain. But I was dry! The hood provides great coverage and the inside pockets were a plus, I could keep things in there and still have the outter pockets for my hands if needed. Very pleased with this jackets performance.

How it fits
Fit great, not too tight so you’re able to wear layers underneath.

Icing on the cake…best rain jacket I own 4/2/2018

I bought the W’s Cascade Stormlight jacket to wear as a companion to the Aurora Puffy Jacket, and the shooter’s cut and fit are spot on. I was initially concerned that this rain jacket would be snug around my waist or chest when layered over the puffy (I have size L in both jackets), but the two match perfectly. I can even wear another baselayer or two underneath on cold nights without feeling restricted. I’m tall, so arm length can be an issue but this jacket offers excellent range of motion in the arms and shoulders. Neither the sleeves nor the waist ride up when I lift up my arms…kind of a revelation. The Stormlight jacket fits comfortably over my waders, too, and keeps me super dry here in the rainy PNW. Rain just beads right up!

I’ve got to hand it to the First Lite crew for so thoughtfully crafting their women’s line. It’s even better knowing how invested the company is in conservation and promoting our public spaces. Hitting the mark on multiple fronts…

Great product 2/3/2018

Sizing is true to chart. Quality is great, pair it with the aurora puffy and your good to go.

Light weight and durable 1/17/2018

Once again another great product from First Lite! This lightweight jacket protects from the elements while remaining breathable. The trademarked Turret Hood is a must have on a jacket like this. The shooters cut makes it a breeze to draw a bow back too. I can't wait to use this piece for spring turkey season!

The only reason I did not give this jacket 5 stars is because it is slim in the hips on me. I've worn a small in other women's products from First Lite with no issue. I'm afraid that if I were to go up a size the jacket would be too large though.

Overall a great product though. Thank you First Lite for creating women's gear that is the same construction as men's gear without adding the frills and colors that other companies do!

Very versatile! 1/15/2018

I ordered this jacket in Confir and it's my new favorite jacket. I've been wearing it all this winter with a Patagonia down sweater under it for warmth. I've been using the combo as an everyday jacket as well as windproof/waterproof shell for skiing. It sheds water like a duck and my favorite feature is the Turret hood which allows me to still see and move around while keeping my head and face dry. It's light as anything and rolls up into a 1 liter stuff sack, even though I use it too much to store it! I also love the waterproof hand warmer zips and the articulated fit of the Shooter's cut.

Worth the price-- the best rain layer you'll own. 10/8/2017

It's amazing that this jacket can approach ultralight weight while still being so waterproof. I've worn it in several full-on downpours and man, is it comfy-- and surprisingly quiet for a rain layer! Sure, there was a bit of sticker shock in the beginning, but I don't regret the purchase and neither will you.

Great fabric, cut could be better 10/3/2017

I've worn this jacket in downpours and through very wet brush and overhead grass, and it continues to keep me dry. I am 5'11" and 155, and purchased a large. The cut is short in the arms, meaning rain dribbles onto your wrists. The jacket is also very busty, and as a result sort of poufs out in front of my chest, blocking visibility. I'm not very chesty, so maybe that is the problem. The jacket is also not the quietest, but I do not know of any other waterproof layers that are quieter. Overall a good product in a market with few women's option, but not perfect.

Great quality but 8/8/2017

I ordered the women's Aurora Puffy Jacket and the women's Stormlight jacket both in a size large assuming they are built to be compatable layering pieces. My puffy fit great, but I couldn't even zip up the Stormlight jacket alone with a thin base layer on. I should have been able to wear the Stormlight jacket on top of my puffy and base layers. I gave it 3 stars because it does not fit true to size.

My favorite rain jacket of all time 8/6/2017

I wear this all of the time. For fishing, backpacking, and for hunting- having something truly waterproof is a must if you're going to be exposed to the elements. The fit is perfect, and very comfortable to move in. I've found that the length is a bit longer that the puffy, which I really like. It's not the quietest jacket but truly noiseless rain jackets might be a thing of my imagination. It's about as heavy as a feather, so it's perfect for multiple day trips and packs down real nice. It also works great as an outer shell to protect you from some seriously frigid wind. If you couldn't tell already I want one in every color! Definitely recommend this!

Perfect, versatile jacket! Must have! 6/29/2017

Jacket fits true to size with room to move. The wrist closures stay put once you adjust them and they don't catch or pull apart with movement. This jacket is lightweight and breathable making it perfect for hiking and hunting. The only downside is that it's not silent so it might be tricky for a close spot and stalk. This is the perfect jacket for an outdoorswoman to have for all outdoor adventures.

Must have hunting peice! 6/27/2017

I am not sure how I have survived all of my previous hunting years without a completely waterproof layer. Being drenched and weighted down was something I just got use too when we had a wet season, extremely uncomfortable and cold is not my idea of fun! This layer saves me from being miserable out in the field. Can't wait for First Lite to make the pants to go with it!
