Women's Aurora Puffy
37.5 Active Technology Insulation

The newest addition to our growing women's apparel line, the Aurora Puffy Jacket is a packable insulating jacket engineered for the most demanding of hunters. Weighing in at just 16 oz., this piece features 100 gram 37.5 synthetic insulation, that actively manages your body's core temperature to exhaust perspiration and keep you warm even if the jacket becomes wet. The Aurora's built in stretch and shooters cut allow for uninhibited freedom of movement when drawing a bow or aiming a rifle, and the exterior DWR repels moisture when the weather gets nasty. The jacket's 60g insulated Turret Hood preserves maximum field of view even while turning your head and provides critical, additional warmth when you need it most. This piece is machine washable and will dry quickly over a branch or on a line. Like all of First Lite's women's line, the Aurora shares the same construction, materials and attention to detail as the men's line with a cut and fit that is simply tailored for women.

Great puffy 12/29/2018

Finally a perfect puffy jacket for women! I love everything about this jacket . I hope First Lite continues to expand their women’s clothing line with top quality pieces that are made for women who are actually using the gear outdoors. I would LOVE if they added an Auroa Puffy Vest to their line SOON!!

Love it! 11/21/2018

I bought this just before 4th rifle season in Co. We had almost 50 deg one day to 15 deg with snow. This jacket was great for sitting on the warmer day, and I wore it all day when it was colder and snowing. It kept me warm and dry, without being too warm. I really like how light, and quiet this jacket is, and how small it compresses down to fit in my pack, when I don't need it. I'm contemplating getting another one for everyday wear!

How it fits
This jacket fits great, and is easy to move in. I have had issued with other brands being too short in the sleeves, and this jacket is perfect!

Better for lifestyle wear 11/21/2018

Warm, not too bulky and it’s waterproof but material is extremely loud and snags easily. Would work well around camp or while shed hunting, but not very good for hunting scenarios. Got pulled back on a doe two different times and each time the sound of the jacket spooked them..

How it fits
Fit is good, true to size.

Buy it now! 11/13/2018

Full disclosure. I never write product reviews, but I feel this jacket deserves one. It is AMAZING. It's been a great piece for Eastern Montana spot and stalk hunts, as well as tree stand hunts in Minnesota. I am blown away by the warmth for being so lightweight. If you are looking for one do-it-all jacket -- look no further!

Favorite puffy! 9/1/2018

It is my favorite puffy, for daily use, for hunting, for skiing, for anything. I love the stretchy cuffs, and I love that the black jacket has the brown interior. The logos/writing have all peeled off for the most part, but that doesn't bother me. I love that the back of the jacket is slightly lower than the front, and I find the hood very comfortable to use. I'm debating buying another one to have when mine gets too worn out!

How it fits
I can comfortably fit several layers underneath--a crewneck, hoody, and a fleece if need be.

Superior to others in performance, fit, durability, weight, & functionality. 8/31/2018

Precision quality with great range of motion. Light weight, packable, and very durable equipped with DWR. The style and fit is flattering. The shooters cut with turret hood eliminates excess material that can get in the way of eye sight and your shot clearance. Multifunctional piece of gear.

Perfect nutter layer 8/30/2018

This is a great outer layer for hunting; light and packable but holds up and is very warm. It's perfect for the cool days when you are sitting. The wrists tighten enough for gloves to slip over and keep elements out.

An A- jacket anyway of the week. 8/30/2018

This jacket wins based on one thing, it was able to keep my girlfriend warm after hiking up to glassing knobs, without adding a ton of weight. In my book that is a huge win cause she’s always freezing when we aren’t moving , she just wishes they made the pants like the uncompagrhes.

Only downside is the fit is a tad big, so she can’t wear it as “fashionably” around town haha. Otherwise home run.

Lightweight and WARM! 8/30/2018

This jacket keeps me warm and toasty even when I’m sitting still in chilly weather for extended periods of time. Versatile for hunting, X-country skiing, ice fishing, or just out to the grocery store. I honesty cannot believe the quality you get for the price of this jacket, it’s a steal!

Lightweight and Functional! 8/29/2018

I bought this jacket because of the 37.5 by Cocona technology, since the jacket I wore on our deer hunt last year provided NO breathability. I am hoping this jacket won't hold all of the moisture in from sweating during the hike in. I'm very excited to try it out during deer and elk season this year. Upon receiving it I am very satisfied with the quality and fit of the jacket. Love how lightweight it is so that you don't feel restricted but it also provides a lot of warmth.

Love it!! 4/2/2018

Full disclosure: I don’t hunt. But I flyfish year round (in the mountains of Colorado), backpack and backcountry ski. This jacket is the perfect mountain, packable insulator. I like that it isn’t down, so it will still insulate if wet. The women’s specific fit is incredible, both as a jacket and a layer in colder situations. Plus, it is lightweight and the hood is perfect. But my favorite feature is the short stretch cuffs. I hate long cuffs that get in the way of gloves and get wet and clammy while fishing. Bonus is that the black color way makes it stylish for an around town coat, too. I just LOVE this jacket.

IN LOVE 2/3/2018

As soon as I took it out of the bag the first thing I noticed was how incredibly soft and light weight it was. I literally just wanted to cuddle with this jacket. Upon putting it on, I immediately began to warm up. It is incredibly warm. I love the hood and the hidden hip “cinchers” inside the pockets. The pockets zip so you don’t have to worry about losing items in the field. This is the best jacket I have ever owned!!! I even bought it in black so I could wear it as my daily winter jacket.

A great, packable, insulating jacket! 12/29/2017

I have used the Aurora Puffy for a late summer alpine sheep hunt to a late season deer hunt and it preformed exceptional in the different conditions. Light weight, packable, no impediment with field of view wearing the hood, great clean cut with no bulk and dried up quick when it got wet. A great insulating, packable jacket and a must have in your hunting wardrobe.

Love this jacket! 12/15/2017

Very warm first of all! I couldn't believe how warm this jacket is. Great to wear around town as well. The only downside is the orange letter has begun to peel off on mine after only 3 months of ownership (and even less of use). But I am okay with that because I did not buy this jacket for the logos.

Favorite Jacket! 12/1/2017

This jacket is very durable! Hunting elk in 20 degree weather in snow and grueling weather, it kept me warm and dry. Very light weight and packable too. Best thing i love is the hood, I love how you can fit it to your face without it going over the front of your face. I tested this jacket hunting whitetail in a treestand with 30 and 40 degree weather and it worked perfectly!

Warm and packable 11/15/2017

I love this jacket, I've worn in in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas. It blocks the wind which is the number one thing to me. It keeps you warm and doesnt bind you up. It can be rolled up pretty small so it doesn't take up to much space in your pack. The only thing I would change is that it would have a micro fleece lining throughout and a slit for a treestand harness.

Light and Warm 11/3/2017

Ladies, you will not be disappointed in adding this piece to your outdoor wear collection. I packed mine into the Eagle Cap Wilderness and it was perfect for the chilly nights and early mornings. Great for adding to your pack when you are worried about weight and space. Definitely packs down small and compact!

Lightweight warmth 10/26/2017

I just wore my Aurora puffy on an elk hunt and am super happy with it. It's very warm while keeping a low profile and having minimal weight. I can shoot my bow without bulky sleeves getting in the way and overall the fabric is quiet. The hood design really provides warmth without restricting your peripheral view.

This jacket is perfect for early season hunting 10/25/2017

I live in Georgia and it starts out cold in the mornings but quickly warms up. This jacket was perfect for my morning sits with a few layers underneath of it, but definitely need to drop the jacket later in the day. It was nice and light and quiet which is super important, it had plenty of pockets and they were big enough to fit yum glove with release on.

Lightweight and warm 10/21/2017

This puffy is the perfect weight for getting outside in the fall here in the PNW and up to the mountains in the summer. It keeps me warm in a range of temps and compresses well into my pack. I bought the Large in black and it fits exactly as I had hoped (I'm 5'9" and generally wear a size 12 or L top), and there is plenty of room for a light sweater underneath. Love this jacket! Super lightweight for its warmth.

At last, a quiet puffy! A few things to keep in mind... 10/8/2017

Overall, this is an amazing product. It combines the best of FL technology with lightweight but potent insulation. It's going to be hard to avoid wearing this as a day-to-day piece as well as in the field! The most amazing thing about this jacket is the silence-- very impressive for a down product. Runs true to size, and those arms fit PERFECTLY.

A few comments for the next iteration and for the detail-oriented consumer to keep in mind: first, the cut ends up a little boxy around the waist area, even with layers on underneath. I get the impression that this was just taken off of the men's design without further adapting it. The zippers also feel a bit flimsy and cheap-- I'm not convinced they'll last more than one season of vigorous wear. Time will tell, though.

Great jacket! 10/4/2017

I bought this jacket to layer underneath my northbranch soft shell. The puffy was very warm and not bulky af all. Even after hiking all morning I was not too hot. I stayed warmed sitting and calling for elk in 20 degree weather. Sizing was spot on and the arms weren't too short (I'm 5'9"). I'm very glad I bought this jacket to add to my layering system.

A must have 9/8/2017

It is super light weight, packs well and I can wear the Stormlight jacket over it without having to order up or down a size. I've worn it hunting with the temps in the 50's and stayed warm and dry. I can not wait to put this jacket to the test when the temps drop and it becomes an insulating layer.

Love it! 7/26/2017

Finally a women's jacket I can wear and not get tired of! Totally pack-able and I love the fit of the hood. I have to agree with Jeannie cause it never gets in the way of the view!

Finally a women's Puffy! 6/27/2017

I waited patiently for this jacket to come out. Everything you need in an insulation layer. It compressed well to stuff in your pack, great YKK zippers and the Turret hood never got in the way of my view. Looking forward to the women's line to keep growing!

Absolutely awesome jacket! 6/12/2017

I just received this jacket and the details that went into making it absolutely amaze me. Soft fabric around the face, draw strings inside the pockets so they don't rub your hips, and so much more. I can not wait to field test this jacket!!!
