Uncompahgre Puffy Insulated Jacket
37.5 Active Technology Insulation

The problem-solver for cold weather, low activity and "hurry up and wait" style pursuit. The First Lite Uncompahgre Puffy Jacket is the insulating component of the First Lite Layering Kit. Built around 37.5 by Cocona's Active Particle Technology, the Uncompahgre's liner and insulation actively transport moisture from the inside and pushes it to the outside where it evaporates before it stinks. Combine that with a body mapped insulation pattern providing warmth where it is needed and you have the ultimate insulation layer whether you're glassing at 10,000ft or chugging a Coors at sea level.

Great Jacket 12/4/2018

Great jacket for the late season black tail hunt this year. Temps were quite cool in the valley, highs only getting to mid 30's. Perfect jacket for the hike in(lightweight in my pack), sit(kept me warm when sitting still), and hike out. Want to get a solid color to wear on cooler days around town.

How it fits
Fit is perfect. Enough room for layering, and that's what the system is all about...

Perfect light weight puffy jacket 11/25/2018

This is my favorite jacket as well as my favorite piece of firstlite gear to date. I have taken it on November high desert rabbit hunts is southern CA, as well as casual wear. Temperature range was high 30’s to mid 50’s Fahrenheit through the day and windy on my most recent hunt. Much of the hunt was spent hiking through thick brush and redshank. My baselayer was a firstlite merino t shirt and the jacket was layered directly overtop. This combination did an exceptional job at transferring moisture out while hiking and keeping me warm when still. The jacket is very lightweight and easy to roll up and stick in a pack. It is soft inside and feels good against the skin. The jacket almost seems to adjust to temperature changes. After a day of busting brush there were only a few small runs in the fabric, but no tears, rips or holes. That’s impressive for how much it went through and what this terrain has done to other clothes in the past. The material does catch a little in thick brush, but less so than I expected. Overall I am extremely impressed and would recommend without hesitation. Makes a great stand alone jacket or piece of your layering system.

How it fits
Fits me perfect with a little room underneath for an additional layer of needed.

Life Saver 11/24/2018

I had been humping a heavy Windstopper Cabelas jacket for a couple of years and wanted to lighten the load. I purchased this jacket in the discontinued ASAT. When I received it I thought there was NO WAY it was heavy enough to keep me warm. I was WRONG. The first morning the temperature read -6 degrees when we got out of the truck in MT. We hiked up to a high ridge where I quickly put on my Puffy. I was amazed how warm I was. I was able to sit on the ridge and glass in -6 degrees with a breeze...who knows what the wind chill was at that time.. and remain comfortable enough to glass and spot deer while the rest of my party was out of the wind next to a giant fire. I wore this my entire trip and would never go on a mid to late season hunt without it. The best gear buy I have made in a long time.

How it fits
It runs a little roomy just like the description, but it is perfect to put over all your layers and binos if so desired. If you settle in for a long sit and glass I would place your bino harness over it, zip it all the way up, tighten down the hood and you will be toasty warm!

An absolute no-doubter on every trip 11/18/2018

This jacket ALWAYS has a place in my pack. Being so light that I don't notice the weight and so warm that I never have the fear of getting cold on the mountain from early to late season. My hunting buddies and I all run this coat.

How it fits
Its a pretty roomy fit, but nothing to complain about. The extra room is nice to be able to quickly throw over other layers and a bino harness.

Fantastic Outer Insulation 11/18/2018

This is my new go-to insulation layer. Recently on a deep wilderness elk hunt I had no issue with temps in the teens and 30+ inches of snow. The insulation is light enough for paced movement in steep terrain, while the DWR performs great in driving snow. When paired with the SEAK Stormtight Jacket you’ll have a wind and weather proof system allowing you to endure long stalks as well as hours of glassing.

How it fits
I’m 6’2” at 200lb with a moderate build and this jacket fits perfect. The long sleeves and extended torso prevent bare wrist and tie in effectively with lower insulation layers.

Quiet jacket 11/16/2018

Some say this isn't quiet enough for stand hunting, I'd beg to differ. You'd really have to try to be noisy with this jacket. A good steady draw with this jacket is pretty quiet.

The fit is exactly as most state, large in the mid-section. I'm 6'3", and right around 235-240, with pretty broad shoulders, and a 36" waist, and the large fits me the way I'd like. It's not tight throughout the shoulders at all, and still has ample room for layering. I kinda wonder what a M would fit like. Can't imagine how big an XL would be.

I sized down from my typical XL. Regardless, I can easily fit two layers of chamas, and my halstead under it. With that combo it's very warm. I could easily wear those layers in single-digit temps, as long as I was doing some still hunting or spot and stalk. I could manage in that all day. I could probably last 1-2 hours in a stand with all the aforementioned layers. If I was stuck in a blind or stand I'd probably want to add a puffy vest for the long sits. I'm a bit of a pansy when it comes to the cold, so that says a lot.

I had the cirrus in an XL, and it fit smaller than the L uncompahgre. In addition to the mid-section being larger, the upper arms through armpit area is also a bit more roomy, which makes layering easier. Typically when I layer, the additional layers can get tight throughout the pits, but this fit helps eliminate that problem.

I love the fit of the hood. Some aren't hood people, I am. The hood fits really well, without being big and floppy. I feel like a guy could get by without packing a lot of extra head insulation because this hood is so functional.

If I had to make a complaint or suggestion, I'd like to see some pockets on the inside, just one or two. Nothing fancy, just a little lightweight mesh pocket like the women's aurora jacket. I know this is a minimalist design, so I get it, but it's so close to a do-it all jacket. Make no mistake, it's a bad-ass jacket.

I listed the use as "spot & stalk," but I wear it all the time. I love it.

How it fits
Yes, it's roomy in the mid-section, and also in the upper arms. sizing down helps with this, and for me still left room for more layers underneath.

Hands down my favorite piece. This jacket is the perfect blend of light weight, warmth, wind breaking, and packability. I have worn this in high winds with snow and rain with no complaints. A few layers under this jacket I have been comfortable at zero degrees. This is good for a slight chill early October deer hunting to late season goose in Wisconsin.

Great fit, exceptional quality 11/12/2018

Right out of the package it is clear that this jacket was made with real attention to detail. It is also very light weight but warm at the same time. Definitely recommended if are looking for something more lightweight that still has the ability to keep you warm.

How it fits
The jacket fits perfectly with plenty of room to layer but not too much to where the jacket becomes baggy.

Another First Lite homerun 11/12/2018

When I have to take this off, I genuinely feel remorse. I don't like to...because it feels like the heat and comfort from a raging giant stone fireplace in a Tahoe ski chalet and outside, its snowing and cold, yes, its that kind of warmth. I would even say it's equivalent to Batman's cape. When you put it on, Mother Nature can't mess with you and you are able to attack the hillsides with your binos and onX, the Arizona hunter's preferred weapons. Seriously, great piece of gear that folds up nice, weighs nothing and does its job exceedingly well. So much so, I often wonder how it does it.

Recently received this jacket in which I paired up with the Kiln Hoodie. I can’t say enough about this jacket, very lightweight and provides a lot of warmth. I don’t think there is anything I would change about it. Can’t go wrong with this addition! I have been using this for predator hunting so mostly sitting for 30 minute periods in the cold.

Good quality. (Military use) 11/11/2018

I bought this as an extra layer to wear while I am in the field during training in the colder months. I am in the military so I needed something that wouldnt stand out from the rest of my issued kit. The green colour matches the rest of my Canadian Forces kit almost exactly. As for the insulation, it is good to go. I have used it in the fall when operating at around the 0 degree Celsius mark. It is the perfect thing for the chilly mornings and can easily be layered with other kit depending on how cold it is. When I first got it I thought that the durability of the exterior fabric might be an issue but I operate in armoured vehicles with lots of stuff to get this caught on and it has stood up to the test so far. To summarize, it looks great, feels great, and is very functional in the cold. Would definitely recommend and I may buy another but in camo for when I manage to get out hunting.

Perfect Puffy 10/30/2018

This jacket was the key to sitting and waiting during mid season Elk in Northwest Colorado this year. It was definitely a little warm when walking midday, but that was the only time I "HAD" to shed it.
I loved having it in camp and whenever we stopped to glass for a bit or just waiting it out.
DWR works great against a light rain or snow shower, got caught in both and couldn't have been more comf.

How it fits
Fit is great, I'd call it true to size. On the colder mornings and evenings I wore it over a llano + kiln and was nice and toasty without sweating while sitting.

Fantastic cold weather jacket 10/23/2018

Just came back from 1st season elk hunt in Colorado and we had some very cold weather for this time of year, with a few days of highs in the mid to low 20's or colder. This jacket was critical for those times that we were stopped and glassing or just sitting watching an open area. It also came in handy on the nights around camp.

Though I didn't have an issue with it, the outer shell does seem a bit thin (however it is required for it being as light and packable as it is). I was able to move though pine and general timber without issue, however if you got into thorns or pickers it might have an issue. All that said, it is something others mentioned when I read the reviews and will say is the trade-off you should make sure you understand before you buy this product.

With the above known, it is an amazing jacket and have recommended to others already.

How it fits
For my size I have a fairly athletic build and the XL was a perfect fit even with a few layers underneath. The jacket was long enough for me, meaning there wasn't the drafty lower back exposer.

Great 10/16/2018

This jacket is awesome. You can tell it is quality built. Stuffs away nicely into it's own little pillow, which is about 4" by 10". Very light but pretty dang warm. I would reccomend for anyone that would be still hunting or packing it for a long flashing session. Fit is made for layering under it so keep that in mind if you want a close fitting jacket.

Great jacket! 10/12/2018

This jacket packs down small, is quiet enough for treestand hunting and keeps you warm. I have worn this jacket with nothing more than a long sleeve into 40 degree temps and it kept me warm. I’ve worn it in light rain and didn’t get soaked through.

I read some good reviews on Rokslide and was not disappointed, but I will say the outside layer is very thin and is the only reason i'm not giving it 5 stars. I would be nervous to wear this as an outer layer in any kind of brush but is great to put on while glassing in cold weather.

Amazing Jacket in many environments! 10/1/2018

I pulled this jacket out of the packaging and was immediately worried that it wouldn’t be warm enough in our AK caribou hunt in the Tundra. It’s pretty light and a bit thin. We spent a week in the tundra chasing caribou, and this jacket was the single most important piece I had. It was plenty warm, even when sitting on the top of a hill glassing for hours while the wind absolutely hammered us. It even did a great job at repelling mild drizzle a few times during our hunt. Also, stuffed into its own pocket, it makes a great pillow!

Very good outer layer for 90% of hunts 9/20/2018

This is essentially a third layer for me over aerowool and either fleece or Sawtooth, though I do wear it when having snacks or water on the mountain just to stay warm over my baselayer. It is warm enough to wear around camp and for short still-hunting. I love the extra durability on the arms and shoulders.

Depending on your system, it may be outer or midlayer. I wear a very large anorak for rain gear so I can run a four-layer system (baselayer/secondlayer/insulation/outer), however with just the FL rain gear of the same size I can only fit one mid layer. Not a problem, just is what it is for my fit. I look at it more as light outerwear as it doesn't fit great under the SEAK.

One weird criticism is that the hood lining material soaks up that good ole mountain hair grease like a sponge, didn't come out great in wash... it's just hunting gear though!

How it fits
Like the fit, wish it would fit under a SEAK better, however. Use it as mid/outerlayer and provides good warmth.

Awesome Warmth With Great Breathability 8/31/2018

I used the Uncompahgre puffy during the spike hunt in October 2017. The temperatures ranged from low 20's in the morning to high 50's and low 60's at night. I kept this at the top of the pack to throw on after hiking to our glassing spot. When we would get to the glassing spot, I would throw this on top of my chama and stayed comfortably warm during glassing. When we spotted some elk and started to move, I was able to keep the Uncompahgre on without over heating. I had read some concerns over durability and after feeling it, I understand those concerns. However, I have not had any problems with mine. If you are hunting in extremely thick or nasty brush, you may consider using it as a mid-layer with something like a soft shell to help protect. I also liked the ability to pack it into its own pocket to use as a pillow. Not necessarily going to replace my normal pillow, but great addition for those afternoon "rests". I would recommend to anyone looking to add a insulating layer for later hunts.

How it fits
I found it to be on the bigger side if I was wearing it alone, but it fit perfectly with layering the other pieces in my kit. It allowed me to move freely and I never felt like my movement was restricted or impeded in anyway, which is why I rated it to be a perfect fit for how I use it.

Perfect all around jacket 8/30/2018

I purchased this jacket with the recommendation of a friend. I wasn't sure about the cost until I actually used the jacket. I live in Arizona and do a lot of hunting in the desert, as well as the mountains. This jacket is perfect for those chilly mornings in the 30s up until it gets into the 60s. I tend to get hot easily, but this jacket regulates heat really well. I usually wear this over my merino LS and am perfect. I would imagine if you were to layer better, you would be able to really benefit in the cold weather. This jacket fits perfect into my pack and is super light weight. I tend to do most of my hunting by spot and stalk so its perfect.

Go-to packable layer 8/30/2018

Lightweigh, packs well, and the outer material has held up to a lot of brush beating. I primarily hunt whitetail in swamps in the south. It’s a little louder than I like for bowhunting whitetail from a treestand, but for the weight and packability for the warmth and ability to stand up to abuse it can’t be beat. This jacket is on my pack more hunts than not

Great jacket! 8/30/2018

This is a very comfortable and warm jacket. It is pretty light and moderately quiet as well.

I am 5'6" and weigh 165 with a 34-36 waist and the M fits great. The arms for all of first lite products are a bit long for me but the shooters cut definitely makes up for the length and makes the jacket great for backpacking or tree stand hunting.

How it fits
over your entire range of clothes the sizing is wildy inconsistent. I wear a small in some things, a medium in others and a large still in others. That's crazy! otherwise you make great products.

This jacket is a 10/10. Excellent warmth to weight ratio. An added bonus is that it folds up into a front pocket and makes a perfect backcountry pillow. This jacket is a crucial piece of gear and always comes with me on trips

Go To Jacket 8/30/2018

I ordered this jacket in black for everyday wear. It has been my go to on those cold days. I've never gotten cold while wearing this thing. Blocks the wind and insulates phenomenal!! The best part is that you can barely tell you have on a jacket because it weighs nearly nothing. Very good jacket and you won't be disappointed.

Just a side note, understand when purchasing this jacket that it's not designed as a brush buster. If you try and push through a thicket, it will get shredded. However, for normal day to day wear, it is perfect.

Unreal warmth 8/30/2018

I honestly couldnt believe how warm this jacket was. I am broad shouldered and muscular about 5'8 and 185 and I ordered the Medium. Fits perfect and plenty of room even with a Kiln hoody and aerowool crew on underneath. Also packs into its own pocket and can be used as a pillow. This is an investment for the long run and the materials/quality speak to the price.

What Would I Do Without It? 8/30/2018

Hands down, my favorite piece of cold weather gear for hunting or fishing. I even wear it for day to day activities. Being it runs large, to fit over layers, I purchased a medium. It still fits great over base layers, and light jackets. It's more durable than you can imagine with a puffy. It packs down to nothing. If I do sweat, it dries quickly. And it's the warmest jacket I've ever worn. Wind and cold defense at it's finest!

Packable, Comfortable, Convenient. 8/30/2018

This jacket will have you wrapped in warmth, and provide you with that comfort that you thought only a hug from your mother could. Well now you've found another way to get that feeling in the Uncompahgre Puffy Jacket. This jacket is that perfect piece to accompany you on everything from early season elk hunts to late season high mountain hunts. Use it for those early mornings in camp, while glassing on those windy ridges, as part of your layering system for stand hunts, or for extra warmth at night in your sleeping bag. If you're not wearing it at night, use it as a pillow and dream about the versatility and comfort this jacket will provide you when you wake.

Go-to Jacket for Everything 8/30/2018

Absolutely love this jacket. Bought it as the season turned to winter here and have worn it for hunting and every day use. It has kept me warm with only a Chama underneath in temps in the 40s in the tree stand (no mobility so tougher to keep body temps up), and when they have gone into the 30s, 20s, and teens, i have been warm with FL's fleece products. I bought a large orginally as I have found that to be my go to size from FL for outerwear, but this was very roomy and planned for extensive layering if you need it, so I returned and was promptly sent a medium. A plug to FL's return dept because I have returned some things as I learned my fit with their company and have always received a prompt response, and even got a phone call once when the product I ordered was out of stock and letting me get an upgraded product in the same line.

Love this puffy 8/30/2018

I did a lot of research before choosing a puffy and glad I chose this one. It handled the frigid temps and winds of Northwest MN without problem. I found myself hunting very late into the season last year and only reserved my heavy jacket to the 15 degrees and below. I did not do all day sits, mostly before or after work, but for those time frames the system of Merino, fleece, Uncompahgre and soft shell worked great. I am very impressed by the warmth to weight ratio of this piece as well as the bonus wind-breaking and moisture protection it offers. Never leave home without it.

Great Jacket 8/30/2018

Owned this jacket for almost a year now and love it. The medium fits me perfect and I am 6’ 180 lbs. the jacket is super lightweight and is very warm for the weight. The only thing I was worried about when purchasing was the noise. After using it bow hunting and turkey hunting several times the noise is not bad at all and I won’t hesitate to use it bowhunting out of a tree stand. The feature of it packing down into its own pocket is very nice as well.

Great jacket, just make sure to size down! I am extremely happy with the packability, durability, and features of this jacket. Damn, th 8/30/2018

This jacket is perfect for the cold, backcountry hunting trip. Since it is so light, but offers amazing warmth, it is my go to in the backcountry. It doesn’t have a super tough outer layer like the corrugate guide jacket so I usually wear it under another jacket to protect it.

Great Puffy 8/30/2018

Nice lightweight insulating layer that is easily packed away in my pack when not in use. It doubles as a great pillow! It is a little bigger than I expected it to be, but when I am layering under it that extra space is filled quickly. I was happy the sleeves weren't baggy or bulky and that shooting a bow with it on is a breeze. It somewhat repel light rain, but I wouldn't use it as a rain jacket. I got a neutral color which is nice when using the jacket for everyday use in the fall.

Uncompahgre Puffy Jacket 8/30/2018

The Uncompahgre Puffy Jacket will definitely fill a gap in my layering system. The fit and finish of the Jacket and quality of material used is impressive!

The sizing of the different areas of the jacket doesn't work very well with my body type. I have what would probably be the typical body type of a firstlite consumer, athletic but not bulky athletic. 5'10" 160 lbs. For all other firstlite products a have be happy with the medium size. I found with the Uncompahgre Jacket it fits extremely well in the shoulder width and sleeve length but the girth of the jacket is quite generous for an athletic build, even when wearing a base and mid under it.

I will be returning the medium for a size small and counting the days until I can be warm and comfortable glassing early morning and late evening.

Very good but... 8/29/2018

This Jacket is a very good all around puffy. The adjustments on it are nice, its pretty warm, and it does shed the elements well. The weight to warmth ratio is a little on the heavy side, and the packability is lacking a little but its not bad for a synthetic jacket. If a person only wanted one jacket for a wide range of uses, this is a good choice.

Gets the Job Done! 8/29/2018

This jacket knocks it out of the park for wearing around town in cold temps or for glassing. Over my Klamath hoody and a Sawtooth vest, I dont plan on needing anything more down to extremely cold temps. Great comfort as well! I sized down because the large fit me a little baggy though the upper arms and torso.

Love this thing and it's in my pack all the time. Lightweight and packs down into it's pocket but warm when it counts. Just got this jacket, so I cannot comment on how it performs in the field but I can say that the fit and finish of the uncompahgre is unmatched. I got dry earth so that I can sport it around town and also in the woods.

How it fits
I always wear a large or XL in shirts/jackets. I read a lot of reviews about sizing before ordering and decided to go with the medium and it’s a perfect fit. I wear a large in First Lites base layer tops

Warm, relatively light and packable. Great piece that always is in my pack. Good base layers, the Uncompahgre and a rain jacket is the basis for my layer kit.

How it fits

Puffy is great 8/29/2018

The FirstLite guys I talked to were great. I told them my height and weight they directed me to the Xl jacket and it fits perfectly.

I’m rocking a “dad bod” and the jacket is cut in a way that it gives ample room in the stomach and chest area, while having arm lengths that give me a great range of motion for drawing a bow or shouldering a rifle.

The jacket is crazy light, super warm, and the cut of the hood makes for no impeded sight lines.

Very happy with it.

Pretty Sweet! 8/29/2018

Medium was a little tight on the hips for me over a bunch of gear...it would be a good fit for a insulating jacket to wear around town (might order a non camo colour for everyday wear). Ordered a large fusion. Great added warmth in a hurry and now I don't pack a pillow:)

Fits well when layering, extremely packable and makes a great backpacking pillow 8/29/2018

This is my new, go-to, all around insulation layer. Nothing in my pack is a uni-tasker and this is no exception. Be it a backpacking pillow, glassing garment, or 10 degree buffer for my sleeping bag, this is an omnipresent fixture in my pack. Get one; your buyer’s remorse will not linger past your first use.

I’m a 6’ - 200 lb guy and this fits well, when layered. However, with only a t-shirt, you will have some wiggle room.

Light and very packable 8/29/2018

I also own the Uncompahgre vest as well as the Woodbury jacket. There's no doubt the Woodbury is warmer but it's also heavy and more bulky than the Uncompahgre line. I wear the jacket for hunting and mostly plan to use it for an upcoming hunt in southern New Mexico (November) where the temperatures can swing quite a bit. Since I'll be hiking in the mountains a lot, I like the fact that I can stow the jacket away and it doesn't take up much space or weight in my pack and then I can break it out as needed. I'll also be using it for deer hunting in Wisconsin but it'll be limited to walking on trails or more open areas as the lightweight nature of the material would not withstand busting through aspen and scrub oaks.

How it fits
Other reviews I saw said it tends to run very big. I guess it depends on how tight you want it to fit. I can swing between a medium and large usually but medium usually fits me better. I went with medium on this jacket and I think it's a perfect fit.

A lot of praise goes into the Chama and mid layer merino, but in my opinion this is an absolute must have for hunting out west. Light, compressible, breathable, and warm. Light and warm 8/28/2018

This jacket is awesome! Super warm and it packs down in its own pocket. Very light. The hood turns with your head, which is a huge plus.

Perfect for glassing when the temperatures start dropping, just pack it down and throw it in your pack when you are ready to start the stalk.

The material is not very rugged, I wouldn't wear it for bush wacking, but should be fine for duck blind, tree stand, and perfect for back country hunts

How it fits
It's a little too big for how I like them to fit. However, that's only when I have my baselayer on; if I'm layered underneath it fits great.

Best piece of hunting clothing I own 8/7/2018

This is by far the number piece of clothing I own to hunt Alaska. Used after a long hike in Alaska to glass up Caribou on the North Slope. It was a high output walk to get to where we were going to glass. Hiked to the location in SEAK rainset and then transitioned to Uncompahgre puffy insulated jacket and pants upon arriving at our glassing location. It was wet and raining outside of our half shelter but the insulation of the top and bottom made 35 degrees and a crosswind gusting up to 30 feel much warmer. This top is lightweight and extremely packable. I will never hunt/fish or camp without this top in my pack in Alaska.

How it fits
Slightly bulky compared to the cuts of the SEAK raingear, but that just adds to the comfort.

Surprisingly warm for its weight. 7/31/2018

I picked one of these jackets up this spring, after waiting for years to finally bite the bullet and pony up the cash for it. I’m a big dude, so I bought it in a 2xl, it fits quite a bit bigger than what I was expecting, but it will have room for other layers underneath it, which is exactly why I bought it big in the first place. I am probably going to use this piece for sitting on stand and in the blind, to keep me warm on cold days. I find it to be very warm for how much it weighs, it will make a great cold weather coat for glassing as well! Living in Alberta I generally wear cold weather work garments and put my camo overtop of it, but now with the addition of this jacket, I can probably remove my heavy work sweater from the mix! Very warm jacket!!

How it fits
Fits a bit on the large side for me. I probably could have gotten away with a size XL instead of a 2XL. I bought it a bit big on purpose, with the plan to wear other layers underneath it!

The Uncompahgre Jacket is an essential addition to your hunting kit. It's perfect for glassing, and will save your butt on an unexpected night out! The lightweight design does mean the outer fabric is a bit weak but that seems to be the case with most puffy jackets on the market.

The amount of warmth that is generated form this lightweight jacket is incredible. It kept me warm after being outside for quite a while on some very cold days. This jacket is awesome! It is super light weight, VERY warm, yet also VERY breathable at the same time! I used this jacket during spring bear season in Canada this past season as my only jacket (aside from my rain gear) while glassing and stalking. Temps ranged from the 20s to the 70s so this jacket was also in my pack a lot and I never noticed. One of my favorite features is the hood! It is practical and warm as well. Easily my favorite jacket 7/28/2018

I don’t leave my house without this jacket. It’s one of the most comfortable, packable, versatile pieces of clothing I’ve ever worn. It’s my go to jacket for hunting, fishing, camping and even around town. I put it to the test on a 2 week long DIY backcountry trip in NZ and it didn’t disappoint. The type of abuse I put it through would have shredded any other similar jacket on the market, but the uncompaghre made it out the other side without so much as a snag. From cool evenings on the town to frigid mornings behind your optics, you need this jacket.

Best jacket I’ve ever owned 7/12/2018

Hands down my favorite piece of first lite gear, super warm, Almost too warm to wear and hike in the same. DWR works really well however if caught in severe rain it will get wet, but good news is it dries incredibly quick. I take this on every single backcountry hunt, regardless because it also doubles as my pillow. 5’9” 175, could have gone with the medium but ordered the large. Runs a tad big but is really nice for layering under. I love it.

Good fit, quiet, light 7/1/2018

I just received the new 2018 updated uncompahgre puffy. Apparently they updated the fit to be more of an athletic cut. Keep in mind I just received it so I haven't been able to test it in harsh conditions yet. However, the cut is very good, but it runs a little big. I am 5'11 and 175 lbs and wear a large in pretty much everything. I ordered the Medium and it is a perfect fit for layering. It is also extremely light. Compared to the Sitka Kelvin Lite jacket, which used to be my early/mid season puffy, it is much quieter. It also appears to have a tougher face fabric, and is more resistant to stains (a complaint I had of the Sitka jacket) and has a much better DWR coating. It is also longer, which makes it so that I don't get any freezing air under the jacket up by backside. The longer cut also makes it more comfortable when seated because it doesn't ride up. The hood is very well designed, it provides adequate warmth but is not restrictive at all. It is also adjustable to fit any head size. I really like the pockets. They're placed a little higher up in the jacket than standard so it's uncomfortable to keep your hands in there for a long period of time, but they are very deep so they can hold a lot of items. The chest pocket is also deceptively large.
I really like this jacket, even though I haven't field tested it yet. Just after trying it on I like it more than my Sitka Kelvin Lite as an early/mid season puffy. If there is anything that I would correct, it would be that when the jacket is zipped all the way up, there is still space between the jacket and my chin, which might let warm air escape rather stay trapped between my body and jacket. But I haven't tested it yet so it may not be a big deal.

I purchased this piece as a backup to my longtime outer layer. During my colorado archery elk hunt we had a string of cold days. Not because I use it alot but because I think performance wise it suprised me the most. Never leave home without it.

Confident in this purchase 5/11/2018

My expectations for this jacket were exceeded when I first put it on. I realized how true the size it holds! I'm a big framed fella, so xxl was the way to go. This jacket is going to allow me to layer up on still whitetail and predator hunts and will also convert into a compact useful item in my pack inventory when it's time to shed layers and pack out my harvest. My favorite part of this jacket is that it sits well below the waist, so there shouldn't be any worries about those cold breezes creeping up. Cannot wait to finally put this jacket to good use!

Great warmth for it's weight 4/30/2018

I was surprised how warm this jacket was for how light it is. I picked this up mid rifle hunt for Elk in Utah. After 5 days of freezing during morning glassing, I picked this up at Sportsman's and the rest of the hunt was warm and toasty. I've been wearing it since for any cold weather activity. It's warm, light and packs up nicely into it's own pocket guaranteeing a spot in my pack.

Worth the wait!!! 4/18/2018

I have wanted one of these jackets since they first came out, and I finally just got mine today! The weather has warmed up now, so I won’t be able to really test it out till fall. However, my first impression is that it will be very warm. I tried it on in my cold basement, overtop of my cotton hoody, and it honestly felt like I had wrapped a blanket around myself. It Instantly warmed me up.

This jacket is very light weight, and with how it rolls into its own pocket, I’m sure I will hardly notice it on the pack. The uncompahgre puffy is going to make a fine addition to my hunting arsenal. After such a long wait to get one of these, I must say that I’m not disappointed in the least. Thanks first lite, I look forward to purchasing more products in the future.

Sizing 4/13/2018

I am sure it has been said before, but it's important to keep saying since it hasn't changed. I am 5'9" and 195 lbs. with what I would say is an athletic build (my wife might disagree) and ordered the Large. It was massive, cavernous, and silly. I would consider at least one size down, maybe two depending on how you will be using this puffy and what will be put underneath. Other than that it is a great puffy.

Great Product 4/10/2018

I live in Montana. I have not been cold in this coat yet. I think it would keep you pretty warm in some very cold temperatures, if wearing the right layers. I have wore it out when only 15 degrees and stayed warm with only an under armor top under neath. This coat is very light for how warm it is. Also a great camo patern. Can't wait to get my hands on some more first light product. Maybe a mid weight merino top. Merino wool has got to be one of the best materials. Thank you first light for building great gear, and great customer service. This gear is going to change my hunt.

This puffy is crazy warm! When I first received it I was a little concerned as it was so lightweight and compressible, but my fears were put to rest during late archery season. Warm, light and comfortable. 3/22/2018

Have had this jacket a few weeks now, have worn it around the farm to get a feel for what it’s capable of. It is incredibly comfortable, shooters cut sleeves are awesome while shooting and the turret hood can’t be beat. Have worn it below freezing by several degrees with only the Chama underneath and it was plenty warm. I stuck with a medium, it fits great in length and shoulders, slightly roomy in chest as sizing mentions but after some layers and a bino harness it’ll be just right. Probably could have gone with a small but I’m just as well in a medium. I am a solid medium in all my FL gear tops, medium tall in pants and I have an athletic build at 5’11”, 165# for reference. Looking forward to this coming season.

warm and light - runs kinda big 3/5/2018

I'm 5'9" 175-180 and I got the medium. It is roomy on me at that size. If I wanted it snug to my body, I feel like I could have worn the small. If I ordered the vest (which I'm considering based on a few days wearing the jacket), I'd definitely go with the small. Love the hood. Love the shooters cut. 100% range of motion. It's practically weightless and very warm. Can't speak to its water shedding abilities yet since I've only worn it around town.

In terms of durability, the outer material is light. I would NOT wear it hog hunting or rabbit hunting in the swamp (not that a puffy of any kind is really suited for that terrain) since I think the briar patch would be rough on the outer material.

This is one of my favorite jackets. 2/28/2018

Love this jacket. Have worn it tons hunting and hiking in BC. Keeps me warm, is lightweight and packs away easily. I have one in the first lite fusion pattern and am planning on getting another one in the dry earth color this year. I have found the sizing charts in first lite to work really well. Fits perfectly under my SEAK Jacket for especially wet and cold days in BC. Won't go hunting or hiking without out this jacket.

warm for its smaller size & very packable 2/22/2018

Update on the jacket after two years of use. This jacket does not stand up next to lets say a eddie bauer 650 down jacket.. BUT if your a layer guy, it is priceless. Ive used this through two Wyoming winters where I was in knee deep snow and wind so strong it felt like it was actually blowing up out of the ground at me. In my normal down jacket I would of been up a creek without a paddle and wind gets in around the neck and up the bottom of the coat, but in this jacket I was able to cinch it down and keep the cold from cutting in. I say this over and over but the guys at FL have the hood and pocket thing down to a science. No one comes close to having better pockets and hoods than FL. I go in with a 170 weight shirt, a healstead fleece, uncompahgre vest and this jacket. I hunt in western Wyoming in some nasty nasty high county where snow/rain and wind come and go every day without warning. With this layering set up I have been able to handle some epic cold storms. I will say that these run big. I wear a large everything and I run a medium in this, even with the layers under it.

I own 2 of them 2/7/2018

This jacket is not cheap, and I own 2 of them. Does that say anything? I have an FDE one for every day that I even wear to work, and a Cipher one with the matching pants for hunting. Warm, highly rain resistant, super lightweight, comfortable, and quiet. I can't say enough good about this jacket. Also packs down super small into it's own pocket!

Warm and very light weight!! 2/2/2018

I’m 6’1 185 and the Medium fits perfect. I live in Arkansas and do more tree hunting than spot and stalk. I stayed warm wearing this jacket with a polyurethane long sleeve underneath it when the temperature was 30 degrees. Wind did not get through to create the chill. Even with the jacket being a “puffy” jacket, it was actually still quiet.

The only negative I have about the jacket is that I think the material will allow the jacket to fall apart with time. Also, you must be careful where you walk to not snag it on a briar patch!

Overall I’d recommend this jacket to any of my closest friends, even the ones that don’t hunt! First lite is a great company! I recently had an encounter with an employee over a back ordered item and he was very polite, helpful, and respectful! I will continue to be a First lite supporter!

By far my favorite piece of clothing, whenever I go out and it could get cold when sitting awhile glassing a field or just taking a break, this piece of clothing will keep you warm and the dwr finish will repel rain very nicely and dry great.

Excellent value and performance! 1/29/2018

I have worn both the coat and the puffy pants it a variety of conditions and I am pleasantly surprised with the weight, durability, warmth, comfort and overall performance. In my opinion incredible value. They stay dry, are light and handle extreme cold well. I have been snowmobiling in -25C with nothing but a tee shirt and sweat pants under these and been comfortably warm. Great product!

Great Warmth and weight! 1/26/2018

I was amazed at how something so light and thin could provide so much warmth and wind stopping power. I wore this for the first time two weeks ago just walking the dog in weather around 15 degrees with a light wind, and was more then warm with minimal on underneath. Flat surface by the way too. Packs up really tight as well. I'm just over 5 foot 9 with bigger arms and upper body, a large first pretty good. A hair long, but with the cinching cord around the waist, you barely notice it. Will fit perfect with layers underneath.

A must have piece of gear! 1/16/2018

I have used this jacket on multiple hunts now. It is perfect for those cold mornings or evenings when you're stationary on the glassing hill. I was always toasty! It packs down to a compact size in a dry bag, which helps when you're doing a backpack hunt. I found its super quite when moving through brush as well. The hood is a must to keep that cold wind off the back of your neck. Great piece of gear!

Tough to beat, Just not tough. 1/10/2018

I loved the first one so much I bought two. I have it in L and XL. Everything you could ask of a puffy. And like puffys they are not designed to be climbing over barbed wire or to open wire fences. If you do that a lot you will get holes. Besides the obvious I really love these jackets and recommend them to everyone. I wear them everywhere.

I bought this jacket for a Colorado elk hunt coming up in September. I decided to wear it deer hunting a few times to test out the warmth of the jacket. Solid Gear, what's up with sizing? 12/26/2017

I think this jacket is a must-have when it comes to having a solid synthetic piece in your layering system. I think the DWR coating is a great feature because a lot of other synthetics in the outdoor industry have the DWR coating and it's "standard" when it comes to the industry and it definitely is a nice feature that doesn't take away breathability and jacket performance, IMO.
I think from a QC (quality control) standpoint, this jacket was constructed with more care than my other FL gear. I own 10+ pieces of FL gear (all either jackets/base layers/pants) and I think the QC team did a better job of trimming excess fabric off of the interior stitching and monitoring the quality of this jacket than I have experienced thus far with my FL gear. I almost abandoned FL about a year ago because of how a couple of the pieces had failed on me in the field (very poor stitching and zipper "gaps" just to name a couple).
My issue with this jacket is the sizing. IMO, FL should size this piece like they size their other pieces - to true size, and not try to guess what your consumers want. I don't get why there's a need to "size up" their garments - especially when I've heard that FL is going D2C (direct to consumer) in the very near future. Are we going to have to eat shipping costs because one line of garments isn't consistent with the rest? I ordered a Medium (6', 165, athletic build) and man they were right- this thing is roomy. I could strap both of my kids to my chest, have room for a base layer and heavyweight merino sweater, and still have room to zip this thing up. I just don't get the sizing...otherwise a great jacket.

Best Warmth to Weight Ratio 12/22/2017

As a professional photographer I am often on shoots where weight is restricted. There are 3 First Lite items I will not leave home without. The Uncompahgre Jacket is one of them. The weight to warmth ratio is unrivaled and it also packs down so small. Side bonus it doubles as a pillow on back country hunts and the hood system is the most comfortable I have ever tested. This jacket is your must have insulation solution!

Great wind killer 12/15/2017

This jacket is by far one of the most versatile jackets I've used whitetail hunting. Warm, weighs nothing, and packs down easy into day packs to not overheat on my way into a stand. My only nock on it is the noise, but quiet and windproof is tough to engineer.

Awesome jacket! 12/13/2017

First time buying quality camo and I was impressed! First day out temps here in oklahoma was 20 and the wind was blowing 15 mph, sleeting, and 30 ft in the treestand. It kept me warm using a base layer and chama hoodie! The fact it folds into its own pocket amazed me. Can't wait to get in the stand again in cold weather to try it again. It's worth the money if your looking for something to change your whole hunting experience!! I'm 6'2" and athletic built, i chose XL just cause i can never find anything to fit my arm length. It fit with plenty of room without the sleeves rolling up even drawing my bow.

Comfortable but not durable 11/30/2017

A very comfortable and light jacket. First hunt was a 20 degree day and was toasty with just a base layer on underneath. My issue is with the fabric durability. I know it's a puffy jacket but i expected better durability. Jacket snagged on a branch and tore about a 1 inch hole in the sleeve. Great glassing jacket but be careful walking around in it.

Excellent, Lightweight, Breathable Warmth. 11/27/2017

I spent the weekend wearing this as a middle layer underneath my old trusty blaze orange coat and over my aerowool long sleeve shirt during the Wisconsin rifle deer season. It provided a perfect layer of warmth while sitting in the deer stand and was excellent as an outer layer when I was up and about.

Although I thoroughly enjoy everything about this jacket, I would have to say that my favorite design aspect of this is the hood and collar region. Whoever designed this hood at First Lite should give themselves a pat on the back and have an extra beer in celebration this evening. When I have the hood up, the top of the zipper on the collar gives my chin enough room to move around without rubbing on rough fabric. What fabric is there is soft and pliable enough to provide no discomfort at all. Being a tall guy myself (6'5", 230lbs) I especially like that there is enough fabric at the base of the hood in order to reach over the top of my head and not be pulling my forehead back and giving my neck a crink. This is true even after tightening the well designed elastic straps that fit the top of your head like a well made baseball cap.

As a side note, this jacket packs into it's own pocket into a perfect pillow size, so I'll no longer have to worry about forgetting my camp pillow and having to ball up my clothes to try to sleep comfortably.

The only downside that I have been able to find, which is most likely due to my mental inadequacies, is that there aren't any drawstring catches (I literally have no idea what those things are called) that hold the elastic strings tight after you tighten the hood around your face during chilly days. This would be a nice addition in order to not have to continually tighten the strings when they loosen up. I'll most likely stumble upon a design solution that I have not thought of yet and this isn't even close to enough of a gripe for me to remove a star from this review. All in all, I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone who needs a versatile insulation layer.

A must have 10/24/2017

I was concerned when I took this jacket out of the box because of how light it is (which turns out to be a plus when packing this in your bag). This jacket is deceivingly warm, and very functional! I took it out this weekend with the temperature in the mid 20's, All I wore under it was the Wilkins half zip and I was very comfortable even when standing still for long periods of time. The jacket is as quiet as it needs to be. I am very happy to have added this item to my arsenal.

Great Jacket, Great Service 10/18/2017

This is the most versatile puffy layer I have tried. Great warmth, good protection in light rain, fits well under my rain jacket for the perfect cold/wet layering. On top of that, the solid colors make a great casual jacket around town in my opinion. All that and the best customer service in the industry. I never hesitate to spend my hard earned money with First Lite because I know I will be taken care of if anything was to happen with my gear. This jacket performed better than expected in the backcountry of Wyoming. It easily packs into its own pocket and can be tucked away in a backpack or saddle bags and also doubles as a pretty decent pillow. We were battered by severe weather (rain and eventually heavy snow) and this jacket kept me warm and dry. I highly recommened adding this jacket to your arsenal.

Toasty, lightweight, and pretty quiet. 10/12/2017

Purchased this and headed into the eastern Sierra Nevada of California for a backpacking mule deer hunt. Was very pleased with how light it was as small increments of weight add up in a pack when going in 8-10 miles. I didn't test it against any severe temps, but it kept me warm in the upper 30's at camp at night. Was far too toasty for me to have on hiking in the mid 40s. I saw another reviewer commented that it was quiet, I would agree, I was rifle hunting this time but would feel comfortable wearing this on a bow hunt as well.

Really Big 10/7/2017

I wanted to really like this jacket, even before I bought it, as it has so many good reviews. I was looking for a jacket to throw on when glassing or not being active, for the length of the hunting season. Unfortunately, it's just too big for me. Can't size down smaller than a small or I might try that. I understand the jacket could work good over other layers, but even then it's just too long and too voluminous around the mid section. It's more of a parka length, which isn't what I'm looking for. Sleeves and shoulders fit fine, but it's just a large volume jacket otherwise. After purchasing a number of first lite products, I'm really struggling with the sizing and cut of their products. Everything seems to be cut for non athletic people. Then there's the occasional item that is really slim. Confused.

Great Jacket 10/2/2017

I love the feel and weight of this jacket. I use it a lot under a lighter weight jacket and it really keeps me warm. I do feel it is best under another layer, because I have noticed some noise during stand hunts. I also like to keep it in my pack on days where I expect the temps to drop later in the day. I would purchase this product again.

Never had a puffy, now I wonder how I did it for so long without 10/2/2017

As a tall skinny guy (6'), the medium fits properly without excess bagginess getting the way of heavier outer layers. It moves well with you and I have yet to notice any binding. It is surprising quiet, warm, and packable. Really I am just repeating most everything the general consensus is around this jacket. If you need a puffy I could not recommend this one more.

This is my second uncompahgre jacket. Follow the sizing chart. It is right on the money. I ordered a size to large the first time. I still wore it for a year. What a fantastic product. And i love the new cypher camo patern. This jacket performs WAY out of its weight class and is cut for shooters and outdoor activitys. I would recomend this jacket to anyone.

Warm lightweight and quiet. 9/29/2017

I used this jacket primarily in a tree stand this year. I was very impressed with how warm it kept me (I was cold but comfortable enough at 28*f. With only a synthetic base layer and minaret aerowool crew top underneath) an unexpected bonus was how quiet the material is. I was able to make minor movements and even draw my bow without worry of spooking elk due to noise.

Best warmth to weight ratio 9/29/2017

I've been using firstlite gear almost exclusively for the past three years. Every single piece has lived up to my expectations if not exceeded it. I just recently purchased the puffy jacket and I knew that I would not use it a whole lot during the archery season as it's mostly mild weather. But we had some really cold weather in Colorado this year so I had reverted to my older jacket and I was still a little cold so I thought I'll try out the first lite jacket and I will tell you it is now my number one favorite piece of gear. It is not my favorite because I will use it the most, it is my favorite because in my thirty years of archery hunting this piece outperformed my expectations by tenfold what I thought it could. I wore it every morning and evening on my ride to and from the hunting area. It blocked the wind, the cold, it performed flawlessly. The puffy pants have not been on my radar since they came out last year but they will be my next purchase. Thank you firstlite, and continue making excellent gear.

Five stars 9/15/2017

By far the best purchase I have made in a long time. I have never owned a puffy jacket before, but after owning this I see what I was missing. The price was a little steep as I usually enjoy cheap hunting gear and the misery that goes along with it. I would highly recommend splurging on this jacket tho, I wore it today in 70 degree temp just to see how it shed heat and it was surprisingly very comfortable, not to mention how well it does in the winter temps which drop below zero. I have yet to find a draw back to this jacket, I use it every season.

Well thought out 9/12/2017

I bought the puffy not ever seeing one or tying one on. I was excited when I got it and put it on. First thing I noticed was how big and high the pockets were. The high pockets meant I could still use them when I had my pack on. I used it this weekend and it kept me warm but not sweaty. It was exactly what I was looking for without the bulk. And makes an awsome backcountry pillow.

Uncompahgre to be your best compadre! 8/15/2017

Living in the land of extremes, Alaska has some of the most challenging environments known to man. When purchasing this jacket, I was a bit leery. Thinking the minimalist approach with lighter gear would ruin my outings. As stated before in other reviews this is my go-to jacket.

PROS: Through the broad range of temperatures in any given day, this jacket has simply amazed me. The Cocona moisture transport system works! The cuffs are snug which helps to retain air, essential to keeping loft in the fill. The body mapped insulation is well thought out and works well.

CONS: The zippers- albeit they have yet to produce any negative findings, they seem "flimsy" and appear to be prone to blow-out. A heavier grade zipper would be better suited. Pit-Zips- granted this jacket transports moisture extremely well, the addition of pit-zips helps to evacuate warm moist air quickly during periods of exertion.

Final comments: I've worn the competitors products. Some are too athletic fit and not comfortable. Some are not true to size. Some have false claims. Last year I switched over to First Lite, and purchased a whole set from base layers to the outer shell. Long-term durability has yet to be tested, but IMO, they are more comfortable (if not more) than the other two competitors (KUIU & Sitka). That's what's is all about right? Being comfortable while outdoors, staying warm & dry means you'll stay out longer.

This jacket is clearly set up by hunters, for hunters. It's one of those items where when you reach for a zipper/pocket/hood, you instantly think, man that is perfect!!! I have had this jacket for 2 seasons now and it is the best piece of gear I have ever worn. I hunt primarily whitetail and turkey in NJ, NY, and PA but have used it mostly in Montana during a brutal archery hunt with 8" snow and temps as low as 20's in September. My brother in law and I hunt together and he's the type of guy that cheaps out on gear and then bitches that he's cold and wet. He wears frog toggs as rain gear.... it's a paper jacket. Buy the best you can afford and buy once when you can. For this past years elk rifle hunt I pointed the puffy out to him instead of carrying a cabelas thick-ass insulated and very heavy jacket. He used it quite a bit. Got caught in a steady rain one day... left his frog togg in camp. Never bitched, never moaned. He was dry and warm and happy. He works in NYC and wears his brown puffy every day to work. Won't be long before all the hipsters start wearing it.

It's quiet enough for most hunting. Surprisingly durable and if I had one flaw to report it would be that the zipper gets stuck on some of the baffle material now and again when I zip up to fast. Getting one in black next year.

Favorite Puffy Jacket 3/1/2017

I love this jacket so much I own it in three different colors. Great warmth to weight and very packable. Great fit. My wife is even ok with me wearing my solid puffy's around town. Can't go wrong with this jacket.

Warm Puffy 1/16/2017

This jacket is fantastic, light weight and much warmer than I expected. Kept me extremely warm in cold high winds. It kept the wind from cutting right through me. Kept me warm, and focused on spotting elk.

I don't know how you could get cold in this thing 1/2/2017

This thing is warm! The insulation moves moisture very well, and sheds wind perfectly. The exterior wears like iron, even after taking it through quite a lot of brush. The hood adjustments are great and super customizable. Only thing I would change is getting rid of the loop in the left pocket. Wonderfully warm puffy!

Best Coat/Jacket ever 1/2/2017

If you've looked at this coat mulitiple times and just can't justify the price, I'm here to tell you. You're costing yourself by NOT getting it. I have had this coat in my pack on every hunt I've been on sense 2014 and it is by far the best investment I have made on my hunting apparel, here's why:
One hunt I had an unexpected sleet storm that hit in mid September (you know the one that catches us all of guard in the western mountains) it saved my bacon. Another time I was caught with out my rain coat, and a rain storm hit. By the time I got off the hill I was soaked, however the UNCOMPAHGRE PUFFY really did perform to an unexpected level of keeping me warm while it was soaking wet! Not recommended to get wet, however Firstlite Advertises that it keeps warm when wet, it really does keep it's warmth!
Again spend the money and put this in your pack, it just might be the piece you need when you expect it the least!

P.S. Every person I let try it on falls in love with in seconds.

Very best puffy ever 12/26/2016

I purchased this jacket for backpack hunting. It's THE most amazing insulation layer I own. Warm for its weight, nice packable size, and just right for the duck blind or around town. Ide give it six stars if I could.

Love this jacket!! 12/17/2016

Amazing Jacket! It's warmer than my other NameBrand synthetic puffy by A LOT. Packs small, pockets are nice and big, relatively water resistant. Not the quietest material, but quieter than any other nylon jacket I've ever worn. 6'1" 185lbs 42 chest. Medium fit great, even a little baggy in the chest which is great for covering optics/bibs. Tight shooter cuff is perfect for drawing a bow, as well as tucking into gloves. I might have to buy a black one so I can wear it out and about without my wife giving me a funny look for being "too camo-ed out".

Better than I imagined for tree stand hunting 12/4/2016

I bought this jacket because it is packable which benefits me because I pack in deer on public land for whitetail deer. When the product arrived I was concerned that it may be a little loud for tree stand bowhunting. After using this for the majority of the season I've had no issues with it being too loud. It is really warm and packable. A winner for sure!

Versatile jacket 11/26/2016

I just wrapped a hunt in N. Michigan. I was stand hunting when a blizzard rolled in and was able to stay in my stand from sunrise to sunset resulting in the harvest of a nice buck. I used this jacket as an additional base layer under the Sanctuary jacket and it worked out great. The pockets are very nice in this jacket; I especially found myself using the chest pocket way more than I thought I would. It was nice to be able to wear this by itself on those days when it was moderate to mild cold weather. My setup from First Lite included the allegheny top/bottom, merino liner gloves, beanie w/ brim, uncompahagre jacket and Sanctuary jacket on; awesome combo.

Versatile and lightweight 11/26/2016

I just completed another hunting season out West. The season took me from chasing elk in Wyoming to my most recent hunt in Kansas hunting whitetails. I used the Uncompahgre Puffy glassing for elk in the early mornings all the way to sitting in a tree stand on chilly Kansas mornings. I was very pleased at the jackets ability to resist the wind and cold temps of my hunts. I also used the jacket in active situations where I expected to perspire. This jacket, along with the First Lite layering system allowed my body to breathe. This jacket definitely made my hunting year more enjoyable and comfortable. Thanks First Lite team. I am excited to hear about the 2017 lineup.

Can't Go Without It 11/15/2016

This isn't your average puffy. Perhaps the most surprising feature of this jacket is its incredible versatility. From a southwest New Mexico archery hunt, to timberline in Colorado, to the windswept antelope country of Wyoming, to the northern edge of B.C., this one of only a few items that I wore almost every single day this season. I used it for early morning glassing, layered under rain gear, as outerwear on chilly days, and around the campfire in the evening. It is lightweight, packable, weather and wind resistant and warm. I can't go anywhere without it!

Great jacket 11/5/2016

This jacket has a great warmth to weight ratio. I generally have this jacket stuffed away in my pack. It is light enough and compresses down small enough that I hardly know that it is in my pack. I generally pull it out when I am sitting down behind the glass trying to find some high country bucks. It is very good at cutting the wind and keeping me warm on those high country wind swept slopes.

I generally wear an XL but I ordered me a size Large. I am 5` 10`` and weight 185. This jacket fits me very well. The shooters cut works great at keeping the sleeve out of the way of the bowstring. The hood is cut in a way that it completely covers my head but does not impede my line of sight when I turn my head. The pockets are positioned in the correct position for functionality. They are deep and roomy which allows me to place items in them and not worry about them falling out.

I am always trying to find ways to lighten my pack load and this jacket has helped me do that. I always try and use items that have more then one use in the backcountry. I use this jacket for a jacket as well as a pillow. When it is in its compression sleeve it is comfortable for midday naps or part of my bivy camp set up.

The one downside I have is the material it is made of can be a little noisy. I have wore this jacket all day while in the elk woods with no problems but I think it is to noisy for a spot and stalk mule deer hunt. With that being said I was able to stalk within shooting range of a couple bedded bucks this past fall. The conditions where right to allow me to do that but I don't think 90% of the time I would have been able to pull it off.

This is a great jacket and well worth your money. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone.

Tough and warm 10/16/2016

My first initial impression of this coat was that the outer fabric was too thin and wouldn't be durable. I've always work coats that were nylon weaves or Carhartt type material. I couldn't have been more wrong. I've taken it through all kinds of thick Ohio brush, including sticker bushes cedar patches and it's still snag free.

The fit is great too. Not too baggy so it doesn't hang on branches as you walk by.

#1 Go to jacket 9/27/2016

I live in the mountains of western Montana - I fish and hunt year round and this is my #1 go to jacket for all seasons and adventures. This product is the coolest thing since sliced bread. Used it during my most recent Colorado DIY archery hunt. Put it on and within minutes I was comfy cozy and dry. GREAT product!!!

Oh so good 8/14/2016

Ok, so there is one tiny "negative", if you want to call it that. I wear a size Large in 95% of jackets/tops and in this jacket I wear a Medium. (I am 6'3" 185lbs) Now for the superlatives. Perfect design that creates a tailored feeling fit throughout the arms and body. The materials and small features like the soft fabric on the chin area make this thing super cozy. The pockets are in just the right place and are ample size and allow you to stuff the jacket into one of them with the reverse zipper. I wore this for 3 hours in a downpour in thick wet timber in Montana this summer and it kept me warm even once it (eventually) got wet. And the drying started from the inside out very impressively. I will be buying a second oneto use as a ski jacket as soon my current ski coat wears out.

A jacket for all 8/10/2016

I purchased this jacket last year and have been able to use it on many hiking trips and scouting trips since. This jacket comes with me no matter what the weather says its going to do. It is super light, compressible, and easy to pack around there is no reason not to bring it. On warm days it stays in my pack but when the night turns chilly it is my go to layer to add some warmth. If it is too warm to wear the jacket I love to stuff my camp pillow inside the jacket and use it to add a layer of comfort to my pillow. I get excited everytime I use this jacket. I recommend it to anyone who likes comfort when you are in the field!

Light, Compact, and Warm 7/23/2016

The Uncompahgre Puffy is now one of my favorite pieces of gear to the test on a scouting trip in the high country with high winds and chill mornings. It super light and compacts into my small front pocket of my pack with ease. I will definitely be packing this jacket all year, summer scouting and winter hunts. It is a little noisy from the material, but I won't be using it for hiking or stalking. It is perfect for those cold sits sitting behind the glass. It blocks the wind really well and I really the way it fits. You are free to move in all directions without feeling your going to rip the armpits like other puffy jackets I've had.

Outstanding Product! 7/21/2016

I started off with this product in Fusion and enjoyed it so much hunting, I ordered one in Pine for personal use. It is a packable, warm outer layer to cut down on wind and light rains. It compliments the First Lite Layering system very well and provides additional concealment with the hood. It's my go to jacket when the temps drop.

My favorite jacket 7/20/2016

This is an excellent piece of kit. Insulating properties are on par with all the other high end puffy jackets. The difference is found in the cut of the garment. With the longer tail of the coat and the cut in the arms, you don't have to worry about the jacket riding up when you raise your arms. As a bowhunter, this is important. I have worn this jacket over a 100 days and have used it as an insulating layer in the mountains of Wyoming on elk hunts where it excels while glassing but easily packs away when moving. It is also superb under Stormtight during full downpour duck hunts and while sitting the stand whitetail hunting.

As you scroll down all you can see is 5 star reviews....that is because his jacket is spectacular. Really light jacket for packing in your pack, and warm for when you sit for lunch or glass in the field. The most innovative thing about the jacket is the drawstring system. The Most Epic Peice in My Arsenal 4/17/2016

I dont even know where to begin with this puffy but I guess I will start with how lightweight/packable it is.When all folded up it fits into its own pocket and is small enough to fit into some of the cargo pockets on my pants and its so light I barley even know it is there. I realize most wont carry a jacket in their pocket but I explain it like that because when it comes to packing into the back country weight and space are crucial elements. Given that description you might think this would be a jacket solely used for a cool evening (which it cab be) but I have spent countless hours posted up glassing on mountain tops in Arizona. In January the temps and the windchill there easily get in the single digits in the am and with only my chama and llano underneath this thing keeps the wind and cold out so well you would think it was some kind of body heated suit. Like I said before I also use the puffy on a daily basis just to take the dog on a walk when its cool out and I am never too hot. It is like this thing is in tune with your body to keep it at the right temp. This jacket is just an all around great product and I will be buying another in black pretty soon just wear out around town.

No matter what I'm going to be doing, if I'm headed outside, I grab this jacket. I wear it for everything from chasing elk in September to treestand hunting whitetails in December to gusty spring days fly fishing and everything in between. It keeps you warm while sitting still but breathes well enough that you won't be peeling off everytime you start moving. Combine that with exceptional fit and comfort as well as resistance to wind and water and you've got the most versatile piece of clothing you could ask for. Highly recommended!

Some like it HOT 4/9/2016

I love this jacket... It is insanely warm, especially given how light and compact-able it is. It is much warmer than I initially gave it credit for. I gave it 4 stars because the outer fabric is a little noisy and it is delicate. When I say noisy, I don't mean hard shell goretex noisy. About the only place I wouldn't wear this jacket would be a treestand on whitetail. I bet if you layered something soft on top of this in a treestand like a fleece or the Labrador, it would be silent. The outer shell is delicate by my standards. I have caught it on a few small branches and it made some very small tears in the fabric - not big mind you - but enough that I am conscious of protecting the jacket, and I don't like to worry about protecting my gear. This jacket wouldn't survive a belly crawl or low crawl on a stalk.

LEIGHTWEIGHT 4/9/2016

I've had this jacket since it was released. It is noisy but, it really wasn't designed for being quiet. With that said I have been successful with this jacket tree stand hunting whitetails (20 yards and closer). You just need to be aware of the noise level and move accordingly. I do a lot if pubic land hunting for whitetails in the mid-west, and I appreciate how lightweight and packable it is, and that's with only hiking 2-3 miles on average. So, for a western hunter this would be a MUST have insulation piece. I had some issues with my zipper, and First Lite was great to deal with. Customer Service is second to none.

Light, versatile layer that everyone should have in their pack 4/7/2016

The Uncompahghre Puffy is my favorite piece of First Lite gear. Like all First Lite products, this jacket is versatile, well-designed and it works well in the field. Its my go to piece and stays in the pack all season long. I hunt big woods deer in the remote Adirondack Mountains in the Northeast. The puffy isn't just for elk or mule deer hunting in the Rockies. Put it on after a long hike into the back country, and you'll stay warm. Layer over a Boundary Storm Tight jacket on top of it, and a llano/hooded chama underneath, and its a reliable, light, warm system. Hands down the best hunting gear I've found to date.

If you are looking for a light, warm, quiet, water resistant puffy, this is it. 4/1/2016

Uncompahgre Peak is the sixth highest summit of the Rocky Mountains of North America and the U.S. state of Colorado.

This was the last week of November in Salmon Id. I looked out the window at the snow and the temp on the thermometer showed -12°F. I had my moisture wicking synthetic t shirt on, my First Lite Chama merino wool base layer top, my 800 fill down vest, my wool stocking hat and my Uncompahgre puffy over the top of everything.

I traded my big puffy for this smaller less bulky one. Compared to my other puffy this one is pretty light, 19oz for a large, small is around 14oz. I had my worries if it would keep me warm though. I walked outside, hopped in my pickup, and started it up. I was still warm. I still had my big down puffy jacket if I needed it, but I was plenty warm. The temp crawled up to -5°F that day, and I found myself shedding my vest and wearing just my base layers and the unpronounceable puffy from First Lite.

First Lite uses the European design in making layered clothing. Layers should fit over other layers. If you wear a medium, order everything in medium. If you normally wear large order everything in large etc. Starting from the base layer, each layer is cut a little larger than the next, so you just order one size. Their products seem to be a little generous in their cut. Drawstrings at the bottom hem, allow you to adjust the fit.

I have worn this jacket over 50 days so far and I took it to Guam with me for two weeks in February. I have not used this puffy in a downpour. That being said I was dry Nov-Dec while wearing it during wet and dry snow falls and did not get soaked through.

I would like to see zippered arm pit vents added to help decrease moisture build up, because If you are not careful you can sweat fairly easily in this puffy. As light and thin as it is, I was worried about durability. After 40 plus days of archery and black powder hunting, there is no wear or tear visible on this puffy.

This jacket is comfortable, soft, quiet, durable and usable. Designers placed the deep zippered pocket openings higher than usual, making them easier to reach into while wearing a backpack. As is with most lightweight jackets these days, the puffy fits into one of the pockets and becomes a flat pillow. On my 23 hours of travel to Guam, I used this as a lumbar support and pillow.

One other thing I like about this jacket is it has a hood that lies flat when not using while wearing the jacket. Large hoods can be annoying but the cut of this hood, allows for it to flatten out well alleviating that issue.

This jacket could replace more than just a "puffy" jacket layer. I think it can share different roles when it comes to the insulation/outwear layer.

First Lite’s staff are friendly and helpful, and the company helped me purchase three of these jackets for our Wounded Warrior archery elk hunt which was put on for us through Idaho N Heroes Outdoors.

I love this jacket, i wear it every where. My wife made me buy one in black because my dry earth is so dirty from hunting she was embarrassed to go out with me. Unbelievably Light & Warm 1/25/2016

I wore this jacket hunting for the first time this weekend and couldn't be more impressed. It's so light weight and has great range of motion. I layered it with llano QZ and Chama hoodie and it was perfect in 35 degrees with a constant 15 mph wind. It did an awesome job blocking the wind. I was a little worried about how it would hold up in the brush but went through a few sticker patches and came out clean. I will be buying another in dry earth for my everyday coat.

Shootability 1/15/2016

I got this jacket, as well as a puffy jacket from Kifaru. I intended to use these for Elk hunting. Both of these jackets are great quality. The Kifaru is noticeably warmer, but more bulky. I like the removable hood feature in the Kifaru, but I always seem to grab my Uncompahgre. You will get sweaty if you are very active unless it is below zero, but you stay pretty warm. For me, the best feature is the cut of the jacket and sleeves. It stays out of the way of my bowstring. I even practice shooting outside wearing this. All of these jackets are pretty noisy for treestand hunting at close range on a quiet day, but this is better than most. I would only wear it on a windy day, even as an underlayer. But then again, that is when you are more likely to need it. Inplam on using it for spot and stalk javelina hunting this winter. Great product.

This is my favorite piece of First Lite gear! I own way too much of this stuff, and love it all, but this is the one piece that I grab the most. Really Impressed! 2/2/2015

Bought this Puffy in Dry Earth before last season and was really impressed. It is so comfortable that I wear it literally everywhere, hunting ot not. I wish I could afford to buy one of each pattern. The only con is the durability of the outer fabric. Thorn bush tore open my sleeve on a stalk (guess it was my fault for not taking it off prior). Other than that I would recommend this product for anyone, anywhere. A little noisy for a treestand but too comfortable and versitile not to buy. I pack it on every hunt regardless! The hardest First Lite piece to pronounce and spell. 1/19/2015

If you are not a native of CO, then good luck consistently spelling or saying this thing correctly. Diction aside, this coat is amazing. I wore mine on my recent elk hunt in the flat tops and it worked great at 11,000 feet down to 7,000 feet. I've worn it on every hunt here in TX and in NC since. I just bought my wife one. She hates spending money, so you know something is good if she'll agree to buy it.

My only 'complaint' is that I have to be careful zipping the jacket because the material likes to get caught in the zipper. The jacket's warm the weight ratio is extremely impressive and the thing breaks the wind like a brick wall.

The perfect puffy 1/6/2015

I was a bit hesitant to order this because it didn't have pit zips, and I get really hot and sweaty, even in cold weather... but I must say that it doesn't seem to matter. I wore this in Montana during the last two October archery elk hunts, and I have nothing but good to say about it. It breaths enough that I don't get too hot, but keeps me really warm and comfortable when sitting. It makes a great camp pillow at night too. I may have to order another in the solid color just to wear everyday. Keep up the good work.

Great Layer 1/5/2015

Wore this in 18 degrees morning in PA for 2 hours sitting on stump. No bulk, so light. First Lite has won my business I have the whole system now it can't be beat!!!

The best 12/27/2014

This jacket is my go to outerwear piece. Wish I knew about this piece years ago. You will not get cold in this coat. I can't believe how well it works. Put away many heavy outfitter clothes from the past. Superb

Buy it! 12/22/2014

It's not everyday that I sit and rave about clothes of all things but the first time I wore this was on a predator control hunt on our quads in 28 degree and windy weather. I couldn't believe how warm I stayed. I brought more clothes because because I knew it was going to be cold riding all day but they never left my pack. I layered a Chama and Labrador under it and figured I would be under dressed for the conditions but . Wind just sheds off of this coat like I can't believe and I was really comfortable all day.

What I also love is how compressible and light this jacket is. It will definitely be part of my pack during late season Elk as well as Coyote and Cat hunts.

This thing is so light and so comfortable I still can't believe how warm I stayed and lets just finish by saying it looks good too. I would recommend this jacket to anybody, I really love this thing.

far exceeded my expectations 11/29/2014

Wore this on an 8 day Ibex hunt in Kyrgyzstan late Oct very cold, high altitude hunt, this was the one layer I always had on, lightweight, wild was no problem, layered with a storm light when it got really cold. Took a competitor's "super down", that stayed in camp. The Uncompahgre Puffy was much better in every way.

GLASSING JACKET/PILLOW 11/26/2014

THIS JACKET IS ONE OF MY GO TO PIECES OUT OF MY MULTI-BRAND ARSENAL OF "HUNTING CLOTHES". I WEAR IT MOST OFTEN AFTER GETTING TO MY GLASSING SPOTS AFTER WORKING UP A SWEAT UP THE MOUNTAIN. IT BREATHES AND KEEP ME WARM AS MY BODY TEMP DROPS FROM THE HIKE UP. ALSO LOVE THE TAPERED SLEEVES FOR BOWHUNTING THAT ANY OTHER HIGH DOLLAR PUFFY WILL NOT FEATURE. WHILE HUNTING IN MONTANA I KEEP IT STRAPPED TO MY PACK FROM BOW SEASON TO LATE SEASON.

Incredible 11/17/2014

I used the Uncompahgre Puffy on my late archery hunt this November and was extremely happy with its performance. It did well from cold early morning glassing to late afternoon sleet with 15 mph to 20 mph winds. The DWR coating did the trick and I remained dry and warm no matter the situation. The Puffy was so warm that I had a hard time hiking with it on, so I left it off during more extensive activity. The Puffy is light and had condense down into its own pocket when needed. I would highly recommend the Puffy as a solid piece of outer wear on your next hunting trip.

Light and Toasty warm! 10/28/2014

This jacket is the best thing I've ever worn! Super lightweight and packable! It's perfect for glassing when it's brisk out, and with proper layering underneath it can be extremely warm! I use this while guiding day in and day out when it's chilly. Very comfortable and the fit is perfect!

Great Jacket for early season 10/22/2014

Really light weight and I could stuff it in my day pack and it wouldn't take up much space at all which is great. I just thought it would be warmer from the description. I run pretty warm in general... hike in with only a llano top in 24 degree mornings this past week and would be fine, as soon as I'd stop I layered up with a Chama and then the puffy. Had light winds come through and would feel it, I ended up praying for the sun to rise as soon as possible during my mid October Colorado hunt. Thought this puffy would top off the two wool layers well but in the end Im a bit disappointed in that I don't feel like it broke the wind or would keep in my body heat when I wasn't moving.

If I hiked at all in it though I'd be toasty as all heck. So in the end Im still trying to figure out a good layering combo with First Lite gear.

not to dry clean it 9/16/2014

not to dry clean it and it can be washed on the cold, genlte cycle with no bleach and dry it on lowit'll vary depending on what its made of (mine is nylon outside and polyester inside) so checking the tag would be your best bet, hopefully you still have it!good luck =)

Great for the hike. 8/24/2014

I took this hunting last fall/winter.... GREAT for walking around when temps are cold.... but when i had to do a little stand hunting in the tree and temps got in the 30's I started to get a bit cold even with the layers I had on.... But when temps were in the mid 40's it was perfect in the stand.... I think its best for stalking and high terrain hikes while looking for those elk /or/ for those real cool (not freezing cold) mornings in the stand so long as you know temps are going to stay in the 40's and 50's.... glad Firstlite came up with a better stand jacket.... can't wait to try it!!!
Also note: it was snowing with some light drizzle and the jacket did great!!! Never seemed to get wet.

Best Jacket Ive ever used. 8/5/2014

I dont write reviews. Ever. This is the one product I am compelled to write about. I dont care if its for hunting or just casual wear, this is by far the best jacket ive ever used. Very comfortable and warm for its size. The fact that it compresses down and can be stored in a small space makes it a no brainer to carry this in your pack no matter what. Love it.

Great warmth and comfort 7/30/2014

Great for late season waterfowl hunts and also for those cold windy days while scouting for spring black tail. This is an essential product that I take every time I go on a hunt.

By far my go to Jacket 7/14/2014

This jacket is simply put, awesome! I guide in the fall in the Central Idaho Mountains. Have tried a lot of the high end jackets, but this one is my favorite. This is the first one that cuts the wind when I'm glassing on the ridges. It's LITE and doesn't weigh you down when you're hiking. Takes the chill off too. I especially like the fact that it stuffs into it's own pocket and you can throw in the pack with no noticeable weight gain. A lot of the clients ask me what I'm wearing. Not much of a camo guy, but ASAT with First Lite is the first camo I wear.

They are also just right for a jacket for a night on the town. Always getting people asking what I'm wearing. Great product, thumbs up First Lite!

Great jacket but... 6/19/2014

I love the size, feel and packability of this jacket except the one thing I found was that it didn't cut the wind like I had hoped it would. On those cold windy mornings with this on sitting on the ridge tops I could feel just enough wind through mine to give me a chill with my merino llano and llano qz underneath. Maybe it is just me or my jacket but I am still very happy with it!

WIND PROOF 6/19/2014

I own two of these jackets. One for civilian wear and one for hunting. The civilian one I wore all winter in Phoenix, and i work at night and performed beyond belief, with just a t-shirt underneath. My hunting one was tested a bunch during this past turkey season, with 30 degree temps and 50 mph winds. We had a late snow storm and this jacket will do it !!!

Amazing jacket 6/18/2014

I am a bit on the skinny challenged side of life. My constant problem while hunting is hiking and sweating like crazy and trying to sty warm. While hiking with cheaper, lesser jackets I would sweat like crazy then get to where I wanted to be and then was freezing while sitting. Last Oct was my first cold weather hunt with this jacket. We woke up to -5 wind chill while elk hunting. I had on the llano QZ and Llano short sleaze under this jacket and that was it. It wicked away the sweat better than anything I've come across. This was huge for me. I was able to hike all day and then sit on ridge tops and glass and not get the usual frozen feeling while my sweat was freezing to me. IMO you can't go wrong with the merino base system and the cocona outerwear.

Great puffy that just flat rocks! 6/18/2014

I've worn this jacket on a few late season elk hunts and a bighorn sheep hunt. While wearing this jacket I've been snowed and rained on in below freezing weather. Jacket has kept me warm and dry. I liked it so much bought a second one for my son.

BADICAL 6/18/2014

Not only is this jacket cool as hell to wear to the club but its awesome hunting too! :) Its super duper lightweight and compresses into its own self-containment pouch to the size of a sandwich! I carry it everywhere because its awesome for camp, glassing and when temps drop.

Not highly waterproof so be sure to layer it with the Stormtight shell when things get hairy.

So warm and packable. 6/18/2014

Great product. Very lightweight and warm. Packs down super small so won't fill up your pack on the home in. I have used it in the sierras hunting Muleys as well as Midwest whitetails.
Keeps me super warm even below freezing in a treestand. Not super quite but not that loud. Just a warning for the treestand guys . Another great throughout product by firstlite.

Great Puffy 6/18/2014

This is an awesome piece of gear and fills a great niche in my hunting gear. The jacket is remarkably water-resistant and packs to a nice size. My only beef is that for the size, I feel it could be a tad warmer. It's not a "cold" jacket by any means but for the size and weight, I would like it a few degrees warmer but I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Does it all 6/18/2014

I bought the puffy in dry earth to make sure I was going to like it for hunting, thinking if I didn't it would still be a nice jacket for everyday use.......now I will be buying one in ASAT! I love this thing , light weight, comfy and can be used in any situation. I have fish in a float tube in 30 degree weather, hiked in the rain, shopped in the city...... Anything you can think of this will do it and do it well

Very warm jacket 6/18/2014

Last season I really enjoyed using this jacket. I wore it for some late season bow hunts and found the shooters cut to do a great job at not restricting my ability to draw the bow and also had no interference with the sting at the time of the shot. Packing in the jacket was a piece of cake with is folded into it's own pocket. It took up minimal room leaving plenty of space for other gear.

Best puffy 6/18/2014

Bought this last winter and I love it for a solid top layer when it's cold windy and dry. Only problem is I have 2 girls that love it too. The only thing hard to get used to is the cords to cinch the hood down but after i figured them out they work really slick and don't get hung up on stuff.

Cherry On Top 6/18/2014

The Uncompahgre Puffy Jacket is the key essential or "the cherry on top" to the First Lite layering system. The jacket is light, warm and very compact when not in use. I have used the puffy on hunts from the desert country of The Gila National Forest in New Mexico to the high alpine peaks of Utah and have failed to find a hunt where this jacket hasn't been a go to piece.....

Go to Jacket! 6/17/2014

From it's packability to it's warmth when you need it most, this jacket does it all. Not too heavy, incredibly durable for most any conditon and unlike down, it's Cocona technology allows some serious leeway when the weather turns.

Surprisingly Warm 5/28/2014

I was skeptical about this jacket....it is just so light.
My testimony was a blizzard day last Feb on a Pheasant hunt in Green River WY.
We should have turned around in UT it was snowing and blowing so hard.
The sun was out in Green River but the wind was still ripp`n. Temp 12
I wore my Chama Hoody , my Springer vest and the Puffy for a jacket...... I had other clothes in the truck....but decided to try this set up for the light weight.
I couldnt believe how warm i stayed !!!!!!!!!!
The Puffy was incredible.... combined with the Chama and the Springer..... the Puffy was the only Jacket I needed all day......
Awesome jacket .....

Warm and light 5/27/2014

I carry the puffy in my pack during the rifle seasons in Idaho. I like that its light, compact and warm. Great for wearing while glassing in the cold or when sitting down for a bite.

On a side note. Its so light and easy to carry I bring it in the boat.
