I hesitated to buy these because of price. So many times I buy hunting clothing and it doesn’t fit right or perform well, so I hesitate at price. I used to wear merino wool base layer with the heavier under armor pants and jacket. I was always cold and wind went right through me. I think these are going to be just what I need to stay warm, comfortable, and quiet in the field! I think my search is over for archery clothing. Now on to finding brush pants for upland hunting, and a brush button up shirt!
I won't get to put these to use until next season, but at first glance, I'm impressed. I'm short so I ordered a small. I have a booty, and they are a bit tight in that area, so I considered going to Medium. I ended up sticking w/ small because I didn't want them any longer and they're actually not even THAT tight-I realized I'm so used to wearing men's over-sized gear, that when something DOES fit, it feels tight. There's plenty of room to layer up, and the material is so soft and quiet. I live in Tx so I did not get to test out the warmth-but the quality is there so I have faith. I also LOVE the pocket placements and the zippers that go all the way up the side of the leg (if you get hot walking to the stand/trying to get out of your boots etc. One thing I'm concerned about is the width of the leg-I'm not sure my big furry boots are going to fit in them (but they're not exactly hunting boots either..). Overall, I'm happy with the buy and excited to try them out next season.
First purchased and was a bit hesitant on the size. Fit was perfect. I was hesitant as I didn't want to feel to constricted if I needed a few baselayers underneath for colder temps. Was I ever wrong. The fit is very fitting (was buying mens hunting clothes because let's face it, it was hard to find functional and practical women's hunting clothing).. The fabric is so soft and quiet. With the perfect fit, I wasn't feeling constricted with baggy clothing when moving. Absolutely love the cargo pockets on the front of the knee - they're so much more accessible than on the side. Exceptional warmth - aka less movement for hunting. Best investment in hunting clothing - I've been getting out in the stand more because of these bibs.
These bibs are a MUST if you're hunting in cold weather. Every little detail has been thought out by First Lite. This is the first pair of bibs I have put on that actually felt like they were made for a woman, and not just a smaller men's item. If you're on the fence about spending the money on these - just do it. I cannot recommend them enough. I'm constantly complaining about being cold, and even on a snowy Kansas day - I was warm in the stand with these on.
It's refreshing to put on a bib that was designed for a woman's body type, allowing me to bend down and climb things with ease. It's comfortable and very quiet. When I first felt the fabric I was skeptical it would keep me warm, but after time spent out hunting in deep snow and cold, I'm no longer skeptical. Interestingly, it really does seem to regulate temperature as advertised, in that I have gone out in milder situations and been okay too. In turns of measured sizes, I am right between a small and a medium, so I went for the medium. Not surprisingly it's a little bit roomy, but perfect when I take into account wearing layers underneath. If you want to have a well-engineered hunting bib that you could do one of those Russian crouch dances in without having a disastrous rip up the butt, this'd be the one for you.
I purchased these for my November Montana elk hunt and I was completely glad I made the investment. I put these on every time I had to sit stationary for a length of time in the snow and they kept me warmer then I’ve ever been even when the winds kicked up. Thanks for such a great product and thanks for making great hunting gear for women.
I thought these ran a little small for going over my pants as I was wearing a thin wool baselayer and the Women’s Alturas pant. They would have fit perfectly if I was just wearing a light baselayer.
I was hesitant to purchase these bibs because the price tag but I have not regretted it once. So happy I splurged for these bibs. They are soft, quiet, comfortable and warm. I wore these with the kiln hoody in 45 degree temperature and I also wore these here in Ohio with a pair of long johns under them in the single digits late bow season. I will definitely be buying the insulated jacket after wearing these bibs ... I can only imagine the jacket will be the same! I am 5'6", 145 lbs and the medium fit me well. Happy customer in Ohio!
