Women's Aurora Puffy

37.5 Active Technology Insulation

$210.00

Color/Pattern
In Stock & Ready to Ship

The newest addition to our growing women's apparel line, the Aurora Puffy Jacket is a packable insulating jacket engineered for the most demanding of hunters. Weighing in at just 16 oz., this piece features 100 gram 37.5 synthetic insulation, that actively manages your body's core temperature to exhaust perspiration and keep you warm even if the jacket becomes wet. The Aurora's built-in stretch and shooters cut allow for uninhibited freedom of movement when drawing a bow or aiming a rifle, and the exterior DWR repels moisture when the weather gets nasty. The jacket's 60g insulated Turret Hood preserves maximum field of view even while turning your head and provides critical, additional warmth when you need it most. This piece is machine washable and will dry quickly over a branch or on a line. Like all of First Lite's women's line, the Aurora shares the same construction, materials, and attention to detail as the men's line with a cut and fit that is simply tailored for women.

    Wife loves it

My wife recently started hunting and we've been getting her FL gear. She loves them and wears them in the field and around town.

    Love this jacket!

I had been eyeballing the Aurora Puffy for so long… so glad I finally purchased it! Great, comfortable fit. It moved into the top of my ‘favorite jackets’ list pretty quick. Can’t wait to take it on hunting/camping trips and put it to work.

    Did you know...

This jacket appears to be everything that was promised; lightweight yet warm, kept me dry in a decent rain, and even stood the test against baby wolf claws. The only thing I don't love are the sleeves, they're very tight around the wrists.
    It's a winner!

    Very Disappointed. Not Built Well

I really reallly and I mean really wanted to like this jacket and was excited to read all the good reviews. Unfortunately comparing my gear to my partners and using it out in the field several times, this coat really falls short in a lot of areas.

    1. The fit.
The fit is just kind of weird, the neck is almost too narrow and the chest is pretty wide, which makes it bunch up under my pack and lift the jacket up, so I’m constantly pulling it down.

    2. The zippers/pockets.
I do not at all understand the need to have two different style zipper pulls on the side pockets. The small one is virtually useless, making me rely primarily on one pocket throughout my hunt. The lining of the pockets falls out when I take anything out and is difficult to put back in the pocket and zip up in a timely manner ESPECIALLY with that tiny zipper pull. I also had loose threads around my pockets when I got it in the mail. Poor quality control.

    3. The hood.
The hood has a fleece lining which is super nice for really cold mornings but it doesn’t go over the zipper at the top so if you breathe on it the material gets moist and then very cold and that’s touching your face the whole time you’re out. Would just be nice to have that go all the way in that upper section.

    4. The material.
It’s good, but thin and honestly so noisy. If it touches anything, you can hear it. Which makes this jacket unsuitable for a lot of my hunting. I don’t even think I could layer this piece and be confident it would be silent when needed. I know there’s some degree of noise with most clothes but this is exceptionally loud.

All in all, I would not recommend this jacket to anyone who is actively hunting and moving around. This jacket is suitable for camp, glassing, scouting, but not generally if you plan to do anything else. I would do your research and go with a different style or outfitter if needed. I like first lite but expected a lot more for $210.00

    Great jacket great fit

This jacket keeps my wife warm while salmon/steelheading in the PNW
She wishes I would have ordered a small, so it is a bit big for her, I just thought she would like to be able to layer underneath.
