Solid Pants. Warm enough when combined with other base layers. Zippered pockets are very helpful. Quite when walking.
A little snug in the waist in crotch, but very good. Super comfortable and seem warm, but I haven't had to bear wet or winter conditions yet. HMU after the winter. They're going to Alaska in February.
Great pants. I usually wear a 35 waist, 35 length. Wish I would have went with a 34x34 in these pants, but they are great, and the suspenders work well.
Best pant for all whitetail hunting in my opinion. Great for the outer layer or only layer in early season. Use it as a mid layer in mid to late season. Fits perfect.
I got these pants at the recommendation of the first life Instagram page after informing them of what I hunt and where. Overall these pants are great. They are a little snug for me in the waist other than that they fit well.
I ordered them at the tail end of the early season so I have yet to get any super warm days in Kentucky hunting in them. But I did where them in Louisiana for a week white tail hunting. Weather was in the mid 50’s to mid 70’s and I was comfortable in them the whole time hiking around hunting in a saddle or sitting in a sunny field. As I write this I’m sitting in my saddle stand hunting the last day of KY rifle season in the blow 30’s I have a pair of cabelas mid weight long Johns and brushland mucks and my lower half is plenty warm.
When I bought these I was worried about there durability, and these have not disappointed. I have taken them though open field thick brush And plenty of thorn patches and the haven’t torn ripped or shown and concerning amount of where. There are always a fair amount of threads sticking out but I haven’t had that become an issue in any form. I haven’t had these out when it is actively bracing but I have worn them in wet conditions and they seem to dry quick keep my butt dry and not get to heavy. They also dry quickly out of the washer.
In short I would definitely buy these pants again or recommend them to anyone
Very durable and rugged pants; love the suspenders and pockets. I have put the to the test already through briar patches with no complaints. Will buy more First Lite in near future!
These are my new favorite hunting pants. With proper laying I have worn them down into the low 30s in the treestand with no issue. They are very quiet and super comfortable. I did go one size up to accommodate for laying and with the suspenders this worked out perfectly. I look forward to wearing these pants next year on an archery elk hunt which iam confident will yield the same flawless results.
I got the obsidian foundry pants in dry earth as a replacement to my original obsidians that had the typical crotch wear. So far they have been great. I’ve used them early season bow hunting in Va and have recently used them in conjunction with the furnace long johns down into the mid 20’s tree stand sits for white tail and have been surprisingly comfortable. The fit is quite nice, but I do wish the crotch was longer if that makes sense. I’m typically a 40x30 but ordered the 42x33 for layering and they’re only slightly snug with the furnace base layer, so definitely order up a size if you plan to layer under them. The material on the legs is slightly more noisy than the original obsidians, but nothing to worry about as long as you’re sitting relatively still. The pockets are all sturdy and well thought out and these have two back pockets which is nice. Over all, I really don’t have any complaints. These are a great do it all pant good from early season on into mid/late season with layers.
