Very Versitile 9/8/2018

I really like this top and I thought it was very fitting for most summer and fall weather. I recently wore it on a bow hunting outing and it provided just as much warmth and comfort during the clouds and rain, as it did during the direct sun. Very comfortable against skin, doesn't retain odor, and dries quickly from both sweat and rain. I strongly recommend this for an active hiker/hunter in the warm weather!!!

How it fits
The shirt fit perfectly based on my predictions from the sizing chart.

Absolutely great for early season archery 9/6/2018

I paired this shirt with the sawtooth hybrid jacket for the Oregon archery bull season. The combo of the two was perfect for those chilly late August mornings. Once the sun came up the hybrid came off and the Minaret Aerowool was light and tough. As the days got warmer I would just hike up my sleeves and keep on trucking. Absolutely love this shirt.

A hot-weather workhorse 8/30/2018

I got this for hot weather activity where I'd sweat buckets, but still needed a tough, fast-drying shirt with long sleeves to protect against the sun. Worked out perfectly for everything from late May trout fishing, to mid-July kayaking, to summer scouting for bow season.

Great for layering 8/30/2018

I love this top and it is always my base layer regardless of the season. From early August/Sept antelope hunts, to layering under the Kiln or puffy in later season, this top does it all. I am normally a sweaty person regardless if its warm or cool out and this top regulates temp great and doesn't become smelly when putting on the miles all day. This is THE go to base layer.

Awesome base layer for early/mid season 8/30/2018

I'm stuck in the crisis of having to broad of a chest and shoulders to fit into a large and to small of stomach to fill an XL but I'll usually go with the XL for a looser fit in the torso. Love the shirt, can't say it is a perfect fit but that is no fault of First Lite.

Great shirt 8/30/2018

This shirt is great. It was a bit big for me, and I have used it more as a shirt than as a true base layer. That said, I used it several days straight in about 90°F and I was always cool, and it never smelled. I just hang it to dry at night and the next morning it was good to go again. I was spending the nights at a cabin with my wife and it fooled her supernatural sense of smell, which is amazing to me. I will try it on the deer in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed.

Always wearing this one 8/30/2018

I ordered this long-sleeve for a hot Central Oregon hunt opening weekend. I didn't get the chance to wear it out there but I have work in every day I've gone it on the coast range. It's still hot and dry with little rain and I've been more than comfortable in this. I have little body fat and I'm on the move all the time except for a little glassing. I stayed at a good temperature but also stayed protected as I was bush-whacking through the famous 6 ft ferns and bramble on the Oregon coast. This camo is ridiculous. I was told on several occasions that I was undetecable with the bushy background of the environment. I was also very surprised by how well this thin material soaked up any sweat and kept me dry. Even after pushing through 6ft tall dewy swamp grass in the morning. I still had way less moisture on my skin than I would with my previous base layers. This will be my skin-layer year round!

Definitely the lightest in the lineup. Great for the hot hikes out in early season. I usually wear this under a light merino zip up and it’s the perfect combo when the weather spikes. I sweat a lot and this shirt keeps me dry. Can’t beat it during the first few weeks of bow season!

Awesome Shirt! 8/29/2018

This is an awesome shirt! It fits perfectly. I wear an XL in everything and this was perfect. The body had room and the sleeves were snug which is the best of both worlds. I didn’t believe that these wool shirts would minimize body scent but after two days of hunting in 80 degree weather they barely had any odor at all and sweat soaked dries incredibly fast. A quick spray with scent killer and they smell just as scent free as a fresh shirt! I can’t wait to buy more!! First Lite for the win!

Warm and toasty 8/29/2018

I used this for turkey season here in Tennessee in the spring when it’s still pretty cold the first couple of mornings. I paired this with the hooded version and a light jacket and stayed very warm all day. I think it’s even lite enough to use on its own on some of the warmer days. Great buy.

Perfect hot weather piece 8/5/2018

I’ve worn this in South West Utah where hunting in August a light weight breathable durable piece is a must. This lived up to all my expectations. Breathable and light weight it also worked great as a base layer paired with a mid weight piece for those September to November hunts as well as Spring turkey season when it’s starting to warm up again.

How it fits
I ordered a medium and regularly wear a large. It still fit very well. I wanted this to also be a baselayer so I got it in a medium. I wear a large when it comes to the Halstead and the Sawtooth so this fit well underneath those pieces.

Nice Lightweight Top for Early Season 8/3/2018

I always like to start my layering off with a lightweight piece that is also my only piece on top when it gets warm. This piece was great at wicking moisture when in a layering system during early turkey season and kept me fairly cool when temps were in the 80's during late season. The fabric is nice and soft and very comfortable

How it fits
The fit on this piece is perfect. I have always worn XL tshirts and shirts from every other company. The forearms are snug (due to their shooters cut) which I really like. I have fairly long arms and I thought the length of the arms was perfect on this piece.

Best hunting shirt I have ever owned 8/2/2018

I was scouting for eld in the peak of California summer, 100 degrees every day. This was the first time I have not complained about the heat while tromping around through the woods. This shirt kept me fairly dry and funk free. Typically after a five day trip to the woods, I'm pretty ripe, this time I was not!! Super comfortable and breathable, ket the bugs off of me and protect me from the sun. I originally ordered the large and it was a bit big for me so I exchanged it for the medium. Granted I have been losing weight but I don't really wear a medium in anything else. I will be a First Lite customer for life!

Lives up to the hype 8/1/2018

I have been in need of some new camo and have done a lot of research, but kept coming back to First Lite. If you are debating because of the cost, it is worth the money. Great material and craftsmanship, planning on wearing this early season by itself and using it as a base layer later in the season. Soft, doesn't itch, and great breathability.

How it fits
FIts true to size - although I usually wear a large, I went with a medium so it would be a little tighter as a base layer. Great fit.

This is a great warm weather shirt 6/27/2018

When I need to be concealed, but the weather seems to warm for long sleeves, this is my go to shirt. It is light weight and very breathable. It also dries supper fast. I last used this on a 2 day turkey hunt in mid May. I am very please with just how great this shirt preformed. 2 days of warm weather hunting and hiking, and it still didn't smell bad. I got a turkey to come in to 30 yards and even though I looked right at me, it didn't see me. I could not be happier. I do worry about the durability of this shit. I am rather careful about not ripping it on brush. I think it will make a great base layer for early season fall hunts.

Great shirt, comfortable, stink free, and well vented. 6/14/2018

I commute to and from work every day on foot. So when this shirt shipped to me at work I decided to test it out on my run home. 3 mile run, on a warm day with a light commuter pack on my back (15 lbs of clothes, lunch, sundries). The pit vents were great, kept me cool. The wool was soft (even fresh from the factory) and dried fast. I let it dry before washing it because I wanted to see if the pit vents would hold smell. Once it dried, it did not stink. This thing will be great come September in the elk woods, or on summer backpacking trips in the meantime.

Best 4-season base layer to buy! 5/16/2018

I've out this shirt through the absolute gauntlet! Fast drying, durable, and extremely comfortable. I wear this shirt, big game, upland, waterfowl, and shed hunting. It is my go to no matter what I am doing. I used this layer on my 2017 deer hunt, and we backpacked in 5 miles for 5 days. This thing is still kicking after two season of absolute torture.

Great option in Texas 4/11/2018

First impressions 3/28/2018

I just received my crew top. I won't have a chance to field test it for the first time until this weekend but would like to share my initial thoughts. I bought this shirt with hot weather early seasons in mind and the fit and breathable design and fit seems to be perfect. Although I am concerned of the construction of the top and am curious to see if it will hold up to my rigorous style of hunting. I look forward to testing it out and seeing if it's tough enough to stay in my arsenal.

Fantastic shirt but one huge downfall 2/28/2018

Cool, Comfortable, Dries fast 1/18/2018

After hunting a full day on the island of Molokai, HI in the hot Hawaiian sun, I was very impressed with this product. Although I was hiking and sweating I remained cool and comfortable especially with the vents under the arms. After the hunt was over I noticed that the shirt was not wet and felt as if I didn't even hunt in them yet. Will definitely continue to buy and use this product.

Great for any season 12/19/2017

Absolutely love this piece! It does a great job keeping you dry in any season. Does not stink after days of sweating while trudging up and down mountains. Super lightweight and love the little details like thumb slots and orange thread on the back of the shirt for visibility. Did I say that I LOVE IT?!?

Nickname: Joe W
Good but limited use 12/16/2017

This is a great lightweight shirt that dries fast and keeps your sweat to a minimum. Reasoning for a 3 is the stitching retains odor (under the arm) and makes it difficult to wash or hand wash if using on a 5 day plus excursion. Lightweight but limited use.

Nickname: Ray
Awsome fit! 12/9/2017

I just got my Minaret a couple weeks ago and was pleased with the fit when i slid it on. I can see how this will be my go to piece for anything warm. Vented pits and body snug fit. I can definitely see it drying fast on those warm weather hunts.
I will update my review when I get more time in it but on first impression ***** All the way.

Great alone or layering piece 12/8/2017

This shirt is lightweight, but fairly durable. It’s great as just a comfortable shirt to wear around the house and outdoor activities and chores. Keeps you cool when warm and as a base layer with jacket over the top keeps you warm while active. I really like the thumb holes, great to use when you need a little warmth for your hands, but when not used you don’t even know they are there. I am 6’ 190 lbs and the large is perfect. Good length in torso to tuck in or left untucked. Fits really well and I like the extra length in the sleeves. I wore 4-5 days straight doing low to moderate activity before it started to get just a little stink to it. Great shirt.

Nickname: Kalan
Wow! 12/4/2017

Great fit, sleeve length is good, collar size is good. It’s loose in a good way, like one would want from a hot weather shirt. Looks and feels great also. Well done FL!

I’m stalky at 5’10” 220lbs I use a XXL. I could fit an XL but it would be more of an athletic skin tight fit. Fits larger than the chama. Which is actually a bummer cause it makes it akward to layer the two. Wish they fit the same.

Nickname: BearPaw
Aerowool for the win! 11/27/2017

After wearing this as a base layer during the Wisconsin rifle season, I would highly recommend this for either a warm weather layer or a cold weather base layer. We did several deer drives and spent many hours hiking up and down hills and my comfort level was excellent. Even after getting slightly overheated and sweaty, all it took was a couple of minutes inside of the cabin or with my outer layers unzipped a bit in order to get cooled down and dried out. I look forward to getting to use this shirt for years to come.

Nickname: Ben
Excellent base for active hunts 11/7/2017

Most of my hunting is upland hunting behind pointing dogs, lots of walking and hiking in varying temperatures. I put this shirt through it's paces on a recent 3 day grouse hunt in varying temps. Warmer days I used it as a stand alone shirt and others I used it as a base under a blaze button up. One day was much colder than the others and I added the 230g Chama in between which afforded great warmth without bulk to interfere with my gun mount. I'll be ordering more of these.

Nickname: Mike N
Love it! 10/13/2017

I've never had "good" hunting clothing until now. Aerowool is perfect for early season hunts in Texas. With hot temperatures and high humidity I'm usually sweating by the time I get to the stand. Within minutes, my aerowool has dried out and I've cooled off for the rest of my sit!

Nickname: KASEY
Love at First Try 10/13/2017

As soon as I tried this shirt on I knew I'd be ordering a few more. It's so comfortable I want to wear it as an everyday t shirt. This thing is the perfect blend of merino and polyester. It's super breathable, yet retains the most important qualities of merino such as wicking sweat and odor mitigation. Very well thought out piece all the way around.

Terrific early season base layer 10/11/2017

I've used the Minaret during the past two Septembers in southern New Mexico. The top fits great and holds up the the brutal desert landscape that I've had to crawl through. I've also found that it breathes incredibly well.

Light, Versatile, Fast Drying 10/10/2017

I love things that have multipurpose with them. What I love most about this top is how fast it dries out! I played a round of Disc Golf in the snow recently on a sunny afternoon in CO, and forgot to bring a towel a long to wipe of my discs, so I did what any good ol boy would do, used my shirt. No matter how wet my disc was, my shirt dried it off very well, but didn't stay wet, it was dry by the next hole so I could dry off another disc. It is a very light weight shirt that has also served me well here in Texas during our early hunting season, being able to have full coverage due to the long sleeves, but never being too hot while wearing said long sleeves. An added bonus is the thumb holes in the shirt so the sleeves don't ride up on you while you are wearing the shirt.

Great Product!

Nickname: BR Shook
Versatile base layer 10/4/2017

I wear this as an outer layer when the temps are 60+ and as a base layer when the temps drop. I have even worn it in the pouring rain. It dries extremely fast, keeps me warm or cool and also protects me from the sun. Very durable lasting two seasons now and can wear for days on end without it stinking really bad. I love this layer and will recommend it to anyone.

Necessity 9/13/2017

Great shirt but didn't hold color. 9/4/2017

This shirt was awesome for keeping me cool. I really liked the vented armpits. My only complaint it that the Fusion color faded drastically after one wash cycle. I washed this piece exactly as the directions said. Never had this issue with any other Firstlite piece.

Perfect for warm weather hunts 9/4/2017

The dove opening weekend saw temps around 90 with usual miserable humidity Mississippians and others in the SE have grown accustomed to. I wore this top three days straights during afternoon hunts with the aforementioned weather and have air dried it each night. I still cannot smell an foul stench or anything that smells like someone sweat in this shirt all weekend. It does it's job just as advertised. It will be my go to in a few weeks when archery opens.

Nickname: Drew Pinkston
My go to warm weather shirt 8/30/2017

Living in the south there are times when a long sleeve shirt is necessary, bugs or scorching sun can send you running for cover, I was very happy with the Aerowool's ability to shed heat and keep the sun and bugs at bay. I'll be wearing this one for everything from dove hunting and early teal season to October deer season when the mornings are cold but the sun is still strong in the afternoons.

Nickname: Matthew
Nothing better for Turkey or early season big game. 8/24/2017

I wore this for 14 days turkey hunting in New England this May, anyone from the area knows of the 50 degree mornings and 75 degree days characteristic of May. That's a heck of a temperature swing when you're "running and gunning" and packing light trying to cover ground hunting turkeys in the woods. The answer is as simple as wearing just this up top when you're moving and then slipping on a cirrus ultralight or something similar when you're calling. Also great for those early whitetail seasons in the south when you're soaked through in sweat just walking 100 yards going through humidity you can cut with a knife. And the best part, this shirt will dry a lot faster than anything else so you aren't miserable and wet the whole time.

A step above 8/23/2017

Ive been wearing the llano 1/4 zip long sleeve for a while now and recently purchased the Minaret Aerowool Crew Top. I wore this item on an archery antelope hunt in early August in SE Oregon. This top is simply put as amazing!!! super absorbent of odors and sweat and dries amazingly fast. Even after many long days it didn't begin to smell funky. This will be my new go to top piece for warm weather.

Great early bow season top 7/26/2017

I'm heading out west and already have the Artemis Hoody (wmn Lg)& Llano crew(mens sm) to go with my Alturas pant, (also have the womens longjohns) and was looking for a lightweight piece to add to my gear and this is perfect! Super lightweight, thin & breathable.... and as warm weather is expected early, it appears to be perfect for the elk opener. I wear a med or large in womens, and the small mens fits me perfectly. Thanks First Lite--love the Fusion camo & love the merino wool--I've been bowhunting over 34 years and always reach for my First Lite camo each morning when I hunt. Where were you years ago??!

Great for guys who run hot 7/20/2017

No matter how cold it is, when I'm hunting (ie hiking with a weapon), I sweat. First Lite's base layers are great options for me since they wick away moisture, are light, cool, fit well, and keep my stank to a minimum. This latest piece of gear is my new favorite! And don't question the thumb holes; you'll learn to love em.

Perfect early season shirt! 7/12/2017

This and the Wilkin are my go to shirts for early season archery hunts. They breath a little better than the Llano, are more durable, a bit lighter weight, and dry quicker than the Llano making them the perfect next to skin layer for early season hunting. The Aerowool material is not quite as soft as the 100% merino, but not noticeable enough to make a difference.

I bought this as a base layer and it is, however most days It stands alone as my hunting shirt. As the other reviews state it is comfortable and dries quickly.

Great warm weather & 1st layer 3/3/2017

Great shirt to have as a warm weather and a great fist layer shirt on those days colder than 30 degrees. Hunting in the IL for whitetails when its 90 degrees out with 90 percent humidity. You got to have a shirt wicks away moisture and that’s extremely breathable.

My first FL product purchase. 2/27/2017

This was my first purchase of first lite product, needless to say, I own many other pieces now. I was first sold on the camo design, and then quickly sold on the quality. Great shirt for early season scouting, turkey hunting, and simply as a first base layer to wick away moisture. One of my favorite aspects about the shirt is the thumb holes. This allows for easy layering without getting all of your sleeves bunched up on your forearms. Simple thought, but very convenient and effective.

Super comfortable and dries unbelievably fast!! My go to base layer for hot scouting trips and early season hunts!

Go to layer for Hot weather 11/4/2016

Spent 8 days out in NM chasing high country muleys in 80 degree weather then down chasing ibex this aerowool would get soaked from long hike and in no time it would be dry as if didn't just almost die hiking up the mountain. The only downfall is it absorbs some smell after about two days of hard hiking unlike my llano. Still my go to warm weather shirt.

Great shirt but not quite as comfortable as Original Merino LS Shirt 10/10/2016

I bought the original Merino and this shirt to compare on my last elk hunt in Sept in Arizona. Temps in the 80s during the day. This shirt was a bit uncomfortable and scratchy compared to the Merino shirt. I also felt a little hotter in it. It did dry out fast when I stopped finally moving and sweating, but it felt more like synthetic Scent Control shirts than the original Merino LS shirt. I'd buy the Merino next time for comfort.

Stay cool, dry and odor free. 10/4/2016

The Minaret top is an essential piece of gear. It can be used as a top layer on warm/hot days or be worn as a base layer on colder days. The Minaret does a great job at regulating body temperature. The shirt is incredibly thin and comfortable. I am 6'0, 215 lbs and a large fits great.
The thumb holes are useful in keeping the sleeves from riding up. The side panels from armpit to hip are not camouflaged and they appear to be a different fabric from the rest of the shirt. The small perforations suggest the panels are for making the shirt breath better.
This shirt is awesome and worth it's weight in gold. I'll be wearing my Minaret all season long.

Awesome warm weather piece! 9/6/2016

I've worn the Minaret Aerowool Crew Top all summer long here in IA, in anywhere from 60 to 100 degrees. It's kept me warm when temps drop down in the evening, and as cool as possible on sticky hot 100+ degree heat index days. It will wick away moisture and is EXTREMLY breathable, as the slightest wind would be felt and cool me down.

Cut down the stink! 8/12/2016

I've been prepping for deer season in southwest PA with the aerowool products and have been blown away! With temps around 95+ degrees, I've been sweating... alot. The aerowool took a solid 4 days before I could notice a difference in its scent. Compared to regular poly which takes only a few hours to start stinking, this stuff works wonders. Can't wait to use it during season. Great job First Lite.

Great warm weather shirt 8/11/2016

I got this shirt as a lighter weight alternative to my chama hoody. It feels tougher built for bushwhacking and pairs well as an under-layer.

AWESOME Layer 8/5/2016

This shirt is super thin and did its job perfectly. All day hikes in the mountains of Mexico - 90-100 degree heat and the shirt stayed dry! Yes, I did sweat a ton, but the shirt wicked the moisture away and kept me dry. Couldn't have been happier!
