These pants are light weight while still being warm and dry. Impressed with how quiet they are, but really glad I got the First Lite Gaters which are probably integral to keeping from ripping the pants when walking through the brush.
I was resisting rain gear because I didn’t think I wanted to pack it, it’s relatively dry where I hunt, etc. Dumb. This stuff is well designed, much lighter and easier to pack than I thought, and definitely more versatile. Even if dry, it’s a perfect shell for wind protection in the early morning and evening chill while glassing, especially when the days are relatively warm otherwise. I find myself throwing those on more than I wear my zip off base layers. Just easier.
I just did a 4 day hunt in British Columbia, which was very wet and snowing at times. Kept me dry through hikes and hours of glassing in the rain and snow. I liked how easy they were to put on without taking off my boots. Compacted nicely to fit it my pack when needed.
Used the pant and jacket on a recent archery whitetail hunt in Montana. Had 2 days of steady rain and kept me dry and blocked the wind. Both pack up tight in your pack, so you don't know they're even in your bag on the dry days. Not sure how they would hold up treking through brush, but they worked fine for my long walks through woods/river bottom to the tree stand. The pants are little tight when zipping over my lacrosse rubber boots, but that's OK because they fit great when just wearing hiking boots. If you need a light rain gear set and are a first lite customer, then this set is a must have.
I put miles and miles in with these on through all sorts of thick blackberry bushes and over thorns. No tears, I stayed dry and warm the entire hunt. They stay tight compared to other rain gear Ive used but stretches perfectly when you need it to
I have not used in the field yet, But did try on the different layers.
My part of Northern California received 12+" of rain in 24-hours recently. Not a hunting use, but I threw on my new Boundary Stormtight Pant to go clear drains.
Other than not getting wet, I really appreciated the flexible fit of these pants. I never felt restricted (unlike a competitor K's product in the same size), and no swampy feel.
I'll be hiking in them to get a better idea, but these definitely helped steer me away from the competitor and will be adding a rain jacket soon. I do suggest ordering the suspenders as they add to a more secure feel when active.
I am a "husky" guy. Over 6 foot, 50" chest, 275+ pound, athletic build. The XL were spot on with plenty of room to go over pants as they are designed.
perfect fit even with my corrugate pants and long john underneeth. I used those pants 3 times now, even with heavy rain and i wasent wet. im 5'8'' 200 pounds, athletic fit and i wear medium. the only issue, i wish they can do the pants 30'' long because its a bit long. other then that, everything is good.
Nice rain pant. Fits over your pants and leave just enough room to get things done. Worked well and kept me dry in moderate rain.
