Early season must have 1/2/2019

This shirt is perfect for early season. It is exceptionally breathable and comfortable for hike to stand and on stand. It dries quick and has no odor after several days hunting whitetail. Late season I use it as a baselayer under my furnace set and catalyst set. I have three hanging in my closet.

Great Early Season Top/Baselayer 12/26/2018

This has been a staple of my system, whether as a base layer for those chilly mornings or as my top during those warm days or energy burning hikes. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is considering a wick top, I would go with this over the hoody and pick up a Kiln Hoody for those colder mornings.

How it fits
Fit is great, I do notice a little tightness in the shoulders however that could be from a little shrinkage in wash or physical activity. sleeves are excellent if you fall into the medium sleeve length.

Phenomenal hot weather layer 12/10/2018

I have used this piece in the swamps of Florida since June, and I can honestly say I am blown away by it's performance. So far as regulating body temperature it literally lives up to its name. Its an incredible wicking layer, and provides a cool to the touch feel when sweaty. The most impressive thing about this piece isn't the temperature management, but rather it's scent control. I have never been able to hunt in the warmth without stinking so badly I offend myself. I know this has cost me several animals, and I am constantly wearing out my hunting clothes washing them. I can go several weeks without having to wash it.

The only thing to consider is that the fabric is very thin and can pull easily if you push through thorns. Take this into consideration and you'll be fine. I have not been overly careful with it, and it's doing very well. Phenomenal piece for the south.

IT KNOWS WHEN YOUR COLD, HOT AND WET! 11/11/2018

This base layer is hands down the very best! Other hunting companies claim “there the best “ at “moister wicking” or “moister management”. I’m speaking from experience I still own Sitka core LW LS , Kryptek and kuiu peloton 130 . Nothing bad about either company as they have there own benefits . but when First lite says there the best regulation of body temperature and moister control they are not lying! 37.5 technology is no joke and to top it off with it’s blend of merino, I’m a believer! This now is my go to base layer from now on. A Scenario i was in this weekend here in AZ the temps were 40s, with high winds that made it feel like 30. I hiked a up a canyon and I was sweating . thought I was going to get cold so I stopped to slow my pace to stop a cold cooling effect And not to get sweated out . As soon as i caught my breath , i was feeling the garment trying to keep me warm while it was Evaporating my moister . To say the least i was able to keep going and get to my glassing spot . And got there fatster because I didn’t need to make anymore pit stops, in fear from sweating out! In other garments mentioned earlier I would’ normally need to bring a spare base layer to change out into after my hikes if i didn’t stop in that Scenario. Don’t mean to sound dumb here but this garment fells like its alive working for you and it knows your temp at all times . Its like your automatic thermostat! that dials in when your hot, cold , and sweating lol! In other garments mentioned, do well at wicking moister . but I would’ve been cold by rapid cooling effect ! In those same conditions. been there and done that ! I just purchased my 2nd Wick LS crew.

Great versatile layer 11/8/2018

Worn solo on warm fall days scouting (active). Very comfortable. Had this as my next to skin layer on a 5 day fishing trip (no showers) 30-50F. It didn't lose its fit (nice blend upgrade) and kept me dry when layered (kiln + catalyst) up and active. It will probably be by go to shirt for backpacking and hiking in spring though fall. The mesh panels provide great ventilation but they do hold more odor than merino or blend. Not nearly as much odor however as a synthetic next to skin layer would.

How it fits
I'm thin through the torso so a medium wasn't quite as next to skin as I prefer. The small was long enough in the torso and sleeves to accommodate. If you're slim or athletic build I recommend sizing down to get a next to skin fit.

Tactical Training 10/24/2018

I wore this layer as my only top at a recent SWAT firearms training day. The temperature started at 42 degrees with 16 mph winds and no break taller than bluestem. We were cold enough we were forced to wear gloves to shoot. By the end of the day, the winds ceased and temps were in the high 60's. Throughout the day I never felt a chill nor broke a sweat through this light weight top. Ultimate comfort and mobility.

How it fits
I'm 6'2" 195 lbs (16 1/2 x 35-36). I'm impressed with the fit. There's plenty of length to the tail, ample sleeve length, and although not extremely athletic cut, it's not too loose around the mid-section.

Awesome shirt 10/4/2018

Just finished a back pack mule deer hunt where I was traveling light. Wore the same long sleeve for 4 days without a problem. Layered a short sleeve under it early and late in the day for a little extra warmth. These shirts dry faster and are much more durable than the straight Merino versions. Highly recommend for a variety of conditions.

An Ideal Baselayer 9/20/2018

The new aerowool is an ideal baselayer. The merino/synthetic mix stays odor free and dries faster than pure wool. I rotated two tops throughout a week-long hunt and they functioned flawlessly. For me, a baselayer needs to protect me from the sun and move moisture away from my body while being dry and odor free. Aerowool accomplished this.

Only challenge drying was on long hiking/packout days when sweat was a bigger issue, but airing out for 30 minutes did the trick. Even then, only the impossible to solve lower back sweat region needed extra drying... so it worked well!

How it fits
Fit overall was good, though I prefer baselayers to be very trim and the waist/sides of this one were a bit wide. This is minor, however, and not enough to impede use. Length and cuffs were great.

Great for Texas summers! 9/5/2018

Wore this shirt during my recent dove hunting trip in south Texas. 100* plus temps and this shirt was awesome. Great breathability, very little odor, and you don’t get that soaking wet shirt feeling when you’ve been outside all day. Will definitely be getting more for the brutal summers down here in Texas!

Perfect for early season! 9/4/2018

I just got back from early season elk hunt in CO and this shirt performed perfectly. Extremely comfortable material that wicked moisture away in the heat of the day but was also great for keeping me warm in the early morning hours. The details of their clothing really makes them that much better, when you do have to layer the thumb holes in the sleeves made sure your base stayed exactly where you want it and doesn't become bound up as you layer over top.

How it fits
Not the largest upper body build so the large fit slightly looser than a tight athletic which is perfect for me.

Incredible Performance 9/3/2018

I recently purchased this to wear for dove hunting this year, and to wear this coming fall/ winter as a baselayer. I will update my review once I get to utilize it as a baselayer, but it performed excellent during my dove hunt this year. The season opened up on Sept. 1, and it was extremely hot outside. The peak temp. during the day reached 96*F, and there was zero shade in my location. The top itself is very breathable and light. The fit is true to size, the bicep portion of the sleeve is not tight on my arm. The forearm portion of the sleeve is a bit tighter, but not constricting. I had a friend sitting 50 yards away, and he said the pattern looked great against the cut corn stalks. Later on in the day I moved to a treeline, and again, said the pattern looked awesome against vegetation. The material is also very durable. I had a dove land in a briar patch, and thought I was going to ruin the shirt when I went to retrieve it. I had a lot of thorns pull on the shirt, and aside from one shall hole on the collar, there was zero pricking or threads pulled.

How it fits
Fits exactly like I had hoped. The wrists were snug, but not to tight. I was able to roll up my sleeves without stretching the material. The same goes for the collar and waste. Unlike most baselayer tops, the neck is not loose. It was similar to a normal crewneck, but not constricting. The bicep portion of the sleeves were loose, but not baggy. Overall, perfect fit all the way around.

my new go to early season shirt 9/1/2018

its been hot here in South Carolina 90+ humid and little wind. Wore this shirt to 3D archery shoot and to hang stands . Love this shirt . Wicks away sweat and lets it evaporate unlike synthetic materials which trap sweat against your body, So far it has held up well against green bire ,pine tree bark and holly trees

How it fits

All year round piece 8/31/2018

I cannot praise this shirt enough! This is just what I wanted for the really hot hunts to have protection and coverage while in the stand or in the field. I ordered both a large and xl to see how they would fit. I wear a large in everything else FL and this is no different. If you want some extra room or have longer arms you could size up to have extra room but the large is just what I wanted for to layer with.

Awesome Fit | Super Comfy 8/30/2018

Just received my Wick Long Sleeve Crew. I haven't used it in the field but wanted to already post a review based on initial impressions and shipping experience. I'll post another review after the September elk hunt.

Shipping couldn't have been quicker! I chose the cheapest shipping method and received my shirt in less than 48hrs from the time I ordered. Wow....Amazon could learn a thing or two from First Lite's order processing and distribution center.

Initial impressions are that the shirt is comfortable and well made. The fit is great and I'm especially pleased with the long sleeve length and long torso. I'm a tall guy and sometimes end up with shirts that come up short in these areas. Not the case with First Lite!!!

How it fits
Fit is perfect. I'm tall and slender at 6'4" and 200lbs. The large is plenty long in the sleeves and torso. The chest and arms aren't too loose or too tight....just right.

Top Shelf Base Layer 8/30/2018

I strive to be as much of an overcompensating tough guy as I can but in reality I get cold easily and my skin is super sensitive... I love the moisture wicking, quick dry, odor defiant properties of wool but a lot of brands will irritate my skin. This hasn't been the case with First Lite. Their wool material is super soft. The stitching layout is also very unique and you can tell an obsessive amount of attention to detail went into creating this shirt. This in conjunction with the vented side panels make this one of the most comfortable base layers in my lineup. I also really love the thumb hole feature and First Lite's camo patterns blend in great in a variety of environments.

How it fits
I am average height and more of wrestler/athletic type build with broad shoulders, big chest, and tiny waist. The medium size fits my arms and shoulder perfect and is snug around my forearms but not overly tight. This is perfect for layering or when I am wearing this as a standalone piece because I don't have to worry about my sleeves catching on anything or falling down my arm if I choose to roll them up. the mid section is definitely looser but because of my shape I get this with virtually every shirt I own.

Great hot weather long sleeve 8/30/2018

Just like the short sleeve version this shift is an amazing hot weather base layer. It wicks moisture away from the skin extremely well, has great air flow and breaths well. If you don’t need the cheat zipper for venting then this is a great base option.

Perfect Do-It-All Baselayer 8/30/2018

If I could only have one single baselayer top for all situations, this would be the one. High quality, robust seams. Very soft, very breathable, very light. I decided to go with the crew instead of the QZ to avoid stacking zippers in the later season.

How it fits
The fit is great, exactly what I like/expect for this size. It's neither skin tight, nor baggy. If I were closer to my college weight of 185/190 I would have wanted a Medium. If you don't like using the thumbholes, and don't have ape arms, you will probably end up with a little extra material around the wrists.

Must Try for warm weather 8/29/2018

I wore this top this year for my Mt Goat hunt in Alaska. I was amazed the shirt was still in one piece by the end. There was a lot of brush busting through some nasty stuff and the shirt never ripped. It did pill up a bit from snags, but no holes! For how thin it is and how well it breathes, it was incredibly strong. One note is if your planning on going where there are mosquitoes, beware that they will be able to bite you through this shirt. I found out the hard way and it was pretty unpleasant. The shirt will stink a little faster than full merino, but still lasted a lot longer than a full synthetic. It does dry fast, but still not as quick as some other materials in the same weight. Overall, I would recommend this piece for the active outdoorsman.

Great quality at a very fair price point for the average hunter 8/29/2018

I absolutely love my 150 aerowool shirts, these fit just tights and have the great properties you would expect with merino base layers. I hunt Bowhunt the South Florida Everglades for whitetails deer in the August and September and need to stay as cool as possible even when the humidity is 98% and the hot swamp water is up to knees in 100 degree weather which changes into cold showers in the blink of a sit. great lightweight merino 8/29/2018

Great looking shirt. It is thinner than most of my merino shirts but that is why I bought it for the mild fall days.

How it fits
I have this shirt(150), the 200 and the 350 furnace. I normally wear an XL (47" chest). The 2xl in the 150 is a touch big but not bad. The 2xl in the 250 is perfect. The xl in the 350 fits right on the border. If it shrank it would be tight. Bottom line if you wear an xl go for the 2xl in these shirts

Excellent fit and breathes well. 8/29/2018

So I was skeptical of wearing a long sleeve shirt as a base while doing habitat improvement in 90 degree weather but using this as a base layer under a conventional short was a life saver. It was hot no doubt but when I peeled it off at night i was dry and I didn't have that rung out feeling. Also dried great in the tent at night even though it was humid and the dew point was high. Can't wait to use it in the stand this fall and know it will keep me dry (therefore warm) on the hikes in.

This is the first time I have ever bought a shirt of this type. I was looking for something light and breathable to help with early season heat waves that sometimes happen here in Ohio. This fits the bill perfect. Really light weight and the material feels amazing. Highly recommend.

How it fits
I opted for the medium over the large and I'm glad I did.Fits well through the chest and shoulders on me. The arms are a bit long but I prefer it that way anyway.

Amazing early season shirt or base layer 8/29/2018

This is my first piece of clothing from First Lite and I could not be more impressed. You can feel the quality in the material even though it is light weight. I actually ordered a whole set, about 30 more pieces, after trying this shirt on.

How it fits
I’m 6’ and 170lbs athletic build. This shirt fits me like a glove.

Outstanding first layer 8/29/2018

I am really impressed by the quality and versatility of his piece. The material is super soft and quite. I recently wore it on a 85 degree day while sighting in broad heads. I never felt over heated and was impressed by the wicking capabilities. I think that it will be a great first layer for early archery here in Idaho when temps can be quite chilly in the early morning, but can end up 60+ degrees by noon. Very happy with this purchase.

How it fits
I am 6' even and about 200lbs with an athletic build. Fit is perfect for me. Not skin tight, but also not baggy. I would recommend buying your normal size.

Perfect Fit 8/29/2018

When I first put this shirt it was so comfortable I didn't want to take it off. I can't wait to put it to the test in my early season hunt this year. The material is light and breathable and the thumb holes are a great feature.

Elite Gear 8/29/2018

Ordered the first few pieces of gear from First Lite including the Wick LS Crew. The fit is great, I like that it runs a little bigger for an XL than some other shirts I have. The long sleeve keeps me warm in the shade but also cool in the sun. I am looking forward to expanding my collection soon.

Super comfortable and lightweight 8/29/2018

I ordered the aero wool crew to be my go to opening season shirt and undershirt base layer for cooler weather. The packaging is unbelievable. Seems like a lot of time and thought was outti the tags themselves.

How it fits
I ordered a medium. I’m between 160-170. I would like the fit to be a bit more athletic or smaller. However that is my personal preference. It is by no means baggy or ill fitting.

Great hunting shirts, just a little snug on the fit. 8/29/2018

These shirts are awesome for warm weather, early archery season. I anticipate they will be great later in the fall too, but have not used them in the colder weather yet. My only complaint is, I like a looser fitting shirt. The size is long enough, but the shirt kind of sticks to my body and has a tighter molding fit that I hoped for.

How it fits
The fit works, I prefer a XXL Tall size that is just a little longer on the length. Or maybe a 3X Tall for the big guys.

Best overall baselayer yet 8/29/2018

Absolutely love this base layer. Great fit, soft feel, and great material design. I love how I’m warm when I need it and never over heating. It wicks away sweat and subsequently dries out extremely quick. I’ve worn it on an extended backpacking hunt trip for 5 days straight and it didn’t funk up. Really happy with this.

Don't think twice -- this shirt is worth it. 8/29/2018

Honestly, just a great shirt. You'll want to wear it every day. It's comfortable, durable, and lightweight. The merino/poly blend produced a stellar shirt. Tons of stretch. Also FL did a great job with sizing-- this is just pure true to size fitting.

Super comfort and moisture wicking 8/29/2018

Having had these only a short while I can say this shirt is one of the most comfortable, moisture wicking merino shirts I've had in a long time. Fusion camo is awesome for early season elk and deer. My only regret is not getting a second in the hoody version.

How it fits
I chose XL based on the previous reviews of these running a little bit large. I'm between several sizes depending on brand but I'd say for my build it runs very close to true size.

Great base layer & great fit 8/29/2018

I ordered two of these shirts to wear as a base layer for an early season archery elk hunt. The shirts fit great and are very comfortable, while keeping you cool/warm depending on the times of the day. Would highly recommend!

Great Shirt for anything 8/29/2018

I've worn this on every early season trip so far and I'm amazed at how cool I stay even in the sun and 80 degree temps. Also the drying time on these are incredible. I can take my pack off and with a little breeze my back will be dry.

How it fits

Awesomeness 8/29/2018

Seems like Firstlite really stepped up theirbgame recently. I oredered this for early season hunts here in NM when temps are still in the 80s. Overall the shirt appears to be very well made and the athletic cut is awesome. I previously ordered another top from Firstlite and was not impressed with the cut but this one is great. I have yet to use it on a hunt but think it will do great.

How it fits
I am 6'3" 200lbs and I am usually a XL. I ordered a L based on some other reviews and it fits perfect. Not loose or baggy but not too tight.

Perfect for the heat 8/28/2018

Aerowool is hands down, the absolute best clothing for early season scouting and hunting. I regularly hunt for pigs and exotics year round in southwest Texas, and for years have been searching for something that keeps me concealed, yet comfortable in the oppressive Texas heat. Let me tell you, some Obsidian Pants and a Wick LS Crew is more comfortable than shorts and a t-shirt.

Scout camping one night in high elevation. 8/26/2018

I don’t have a jacket so this is what I had to deal with 40 degree temps and a pair of pants. After scouting on quads during the 75 degree day, warmth quickly turned to a cold brisk night. I set up my hammock and sleeping bag and although I was cold, it was not the pure misery. I was very very impressed with the light weight being short to retain the heat it did. With out that shirt I wouldn’t have made it. The only negative thing I can say is that the sleeves are a little long. I’m 5’10” 168 lbs and I’m flirting around with irdereing a medium and see how it fits.......

How it fits
The sleeves were a little long. Thumb hole perfect. Stitching madness fabric on point.
What would inchange. The neck seems to be a little big after I put the shirt on.l, shrink it up a bit.

Great Fit 8/23/2018

I have the previous version of this top and what I really love about it is the fit. the shooters cut has tapered sleeves that are snug (not too tight) around the forearms which eliminates a lot of bulk in that area. Great for layering.

Great for everything! 8/20/2018

I waited for a few trips to give a review.

I’ve now worn this piece scouting in 90 degree sunny temps. Then kept it on and was good until 38-40 degrees then put another light layer on and was good through the night and into the next day at high elevation. I sweat like crazy and this base layer wicked away moisture nicely. What I noticed more was it doesn’t smell. After three days in the woods I took it off and wore it around the house for the next weekend. This is by far the best base layer I’ve ever worn for early season.

For the Ground Blind 8/7/2018

I ordered this for my archery and rifle white tail tags here in Florida. I'll be hunting out of a ground blind so I ordered this in black.

The athletic cut is great and fits well in the chest/back and waist. I have a decent/above average build and often have problems with clothes fitting properly. No issues with it being too loose or too constricting.

How it fits
I have a 29.5 inch draw with my bow, but I feel like the sleeves are a smidge too long, but that's just my opinion, and they aren't so long as to lower my star rating.

love the shirt 8/6/2018

This shirt has been an awesome summertime shirt for staying cool. Scouting antelope and elk in the 90-100 degree heat while wearing long sleeve shirt and staying cool speaks for itself. Shirt fits well and is comfortable. Have sweated plenty in it and it always smells fresh after wearing it, its amazing. Looking forward to buying a few more once the camo patterns come available later this month.
