Game changer when hunting in the SoCal Heat!! 9/9/2018

Just got done with a 4 day hunt on the Pacific Coast out here in SoCal and used this hoody. This thing breathes extremely well and super comfortable wore it all 4 days with no odor and little stretch compared to my Chama that after a few days is really loose. I paired the hoody with the Obsidian pant and I was super comfortable the entire time. Temperatures ranged from 50-90 degrees with mornings being foggy and cool with the marine layer and the afternoons being hot and windy. It dried quickly after hiking a lot of miles and kept me warm on the cool mornings. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who hunts a variety climates this thing has multiple uses. I work for the Forest Service and it has been getting cooler in the mountains having this as my base layer it going to make this winter a toasty one!!

How it fits
The fit was great the only thing that I noticed was the hood was a little tight when putting it over my hat, maybe adding something to make it stretch over a little easier. I felt that I was going to rip it a few times trying to put it over my head.

My favorite new outdoor item. 9/9/2018

This is a great shirt. I’ve had it out with temperatures 25-90 F on backpacking trips this summer. A good base layer in the cold and comfortable in the heat.

How it fits
I’m tall and lean. The large is pretty snug around the shoulders and a little baggy around the mid section.

Great product 9/4/2018

Bought this along with a few other ultralight 150 Aerowool cloths as my first purchase from FirstLite. All I can say is this company does not disappoint! I was looking forward to purchasing some items for awhile but since they can be expensive I waited for a sale. Once the next sale hits I will be buying more!

Great Design 9/4/2018

Perfect for early morning hunts with a little chill in the air, just pull the hoody over and you're good to go. The hood itself was perfectly sized and had a snug but comfortable fit allowing you to move your head uninterrupted. The material worked perfectly keeping me cool and wicking away any sweat built up while also having the ability to provide the perfect amount of warmth at sunrise and sunset.

Just a little longer 8/31/2018

Been using this hoody for the last few days in S Utah. Ut has been extremely mild this year. In the past I have layered up when my neck starts to get cold but the hoody on this makes that unnecessary. It has made those late evening layering additions in this mild weather obsolete.

Can't wait to wear this 8/31/2018

Ordered this in First Lite Cipher and can't wait to wear it this fall. Will start off wearing it for doves and see how it does in the heat, then transition to whitetail bow season before taking out to Wyoming for pronghorn in October. As of now I can comment on fit (sleeves are a little long, which is unusual for me, so they must truly be on the long side). I expected a snug fit but it's got a little more drape to it than that, but it's not too big. The hood is amazing and I can't wait to try that out while hunting whitetails. Used with the neck gaiter also in Cipher, I think I look like a camo ninja. The weight of the fabric is very light weight, in case you were wondering, like the weight of one of those technical t-shirts from the big athletic brands.

How it fits
Slightly long in the sleeves, with a loose but not baggy fit on my rather small frame. Plenty of length in the body for tucking in.

Great Product - New Staple in my Early Season Pack 8/30/2018

I got a chance to get this thing out on a few antelope hunts when the temps were in the mid to high eighties. I was a little reluctant with it being a long sleeved hoody; but, after getting it out the first day, I knew I was going to really like it. It's incredibly light weight and breathes really well. I was still able to feel the breeze while getting protection from the sun. On one of the hunts, I had a decent hike in and worked up a pretty good sweat. After getting where I was going, I took my pack off and the shirt was dry in a matter of minutes. I most definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a solid early season base layer.

Great piece! 8/30/2018

This is my first piece from First Lite, and I am impressed with the build and quality. I haven't hunted in it yet, but i have no doubts it will perform standalone when it is warm and as a base layer when things cool off. I like the fit of the hood, fitted but not tight. I am glad to finally have a shirt that is long enough in the body and sleeves to fit me!

Florida heat 8/30/2018

The hooded version of the already-upgraded Aerowool top is awesome! I've used it this summer for hiking, scouting, fishing, and even a little hog hunting, and its ability to keep me cool while minimizing odor (no easy feat for me) has been remarkable. Knowing that this would be a summertime piece for me, I ordered an XL in conifer rather than my usual L in Fusion, and could not be happier. It fits looser than I'd like for layering, but in the summer, layering stops at the base. For high output activities, I'd recommend the quarter zip (a feature I'd like to see even on the hooded version), but for any activities under harsh sun, I'd recommend skipping the neck buff and going with the hood. Looking forward to ordering my next one in camo.

How it fits
I'm a pretty standard build - not real buff but not carrying much extra padding. I purchase large if I know I'll be layering over it for a slightly-fitted athletic fit. I purchased XL in this top, and it fits loosely without swimming in it. Very happy with that decision.

Of the multitude of Firstlite clothing options i have, this base layer is quite possibly the most comfortable of them all.

The perfect early season top 8/30/2018

This hoody fits great and is super comfortable. I’m 6’4 and have long arms and the Large is perfect. My bald head and neck get sunburned easily so I usually wear a hat with some sort of neck gaiter, which is uncomfortable and annoying. The hood is awesome in the heat and a great solution to keep the sun off of me. It will also me a nice base layer once the weather gets colder. Highly recommend!

Great warm weather top. 8/30/2018

Got the wick just in time for A zone in California and it is the perfect top for that. As the name states, it wicks away moisture in 90+ degree heat then when it dropped to the high 50s at night it still kept me warm enough. The hood and long sleeves with thumb holes offered plenty of sun protection as well. Even though the material is extremely thin, after bushwhacking through some extremely thick Hell hole, it proved to be very durable as well.

A new favorite! 8/29/2018

This has by far become my new favorite piece of my kit since I have gotten my hands on it. The hood is great for keeping a cool breeze off your neck and also to provide reprieve from the sun. It’s a great all day piece of gear that wicks moisture well but provides just enough insulation when you need it. I’ve worn it on multiple stalks crawling through the sagebrush since archery pronghorn season has started. Concealment has been excellent with the hood up, it’s not too hot, and the hood does not stretch and obstruct my vision.

How it fits
As a guy with a bigger neck, I was originally concerned about the “strangle effect” from a form fitting hood and no 1/4 zip. I’ve been pleasantly surprised how well it fits my neck and shoulders by itself or with a bino harness and pack on.

Sea salt and sweet dreams 8/29/2018

This hoody is another homer in. I abused a cycle of Chama hoody’s for over 5 years, the Wick is no exception. This is my go to top piece for comfort, performance, and longevity. I wear this hoody under My grundens rain gear for commercial fishing, that fast drying properties of it also allow me to sleep comfortably in the rack, never too hot, or too cool; and always ready for that 3am anchor drill. Perfect piece for hot weather 8/29/2018

This is the perfect addition for hot weather, sunny climates where the sun is always an issue. This is a really well designed piece of clothing that does exactly what FL says it will do and is extremely comfortable. I remember glassing under a tiny mesquite tree as my only source of any shade in 105 degree early September day wishing I had a lightweight wicking long sleeve shirt with a hood. This is exactly what I needed.

How it fits
I'm 6'4" with long arms so I tend to go with 2XL in order to accommodate body and sleeve length even though it ends up being way too big in the body. I talked to the guys at FL about that and they recommended the XL based on a few other items I already own. The XL is just right with a little extra length in the sleeves to prevent them from pulling up my arms.

Awesome all around piece 8/29/2018

If you're going to own one piece of First Lite clothing this is the one you need. Light weight and great for those warm days but wicks really well if the temps drop. Dries quickly and doesn't feel weighted down. The hood is a great addition and I like to use it when glassing to keep my neck and ears from frying in the sun. Love that the hood breathes and doesn't feel like it traps heat when I'm in the sun. Also great to throw over your head when stalking in. The fit is fantastic. I'm an athletic 5'10" 200lbs with a 44" chest and 34" waist and a Large is spot on. Not too tight and not too loose, just right. The sleeve length is long which is perfect for me as I have a 6'3" wingspan and typically can't wear long sleeves because they stop at my forearms. I can actually use the thumb holes in this and not feel like the sleeves are tugging. If you have T-Rex arms though you might get some bunching. Can't speak to durability yet but I can say if I wear this thing out I'll immediately replace it because I love it so much. I'll probably order another one in the solid color too just to wear around town or any time not hunting.

How it fits
Perfect fit and way better than the previous First Lite pieces. Sleeves are long but I need that.

Designed by hunters for hunters 8/29/2018

Honestly could not be happier with the wick hoody! Big props to Nate for helping me out when I was concerned about sizing properly. You can tell a lot of field work has gone into ensuring that this fits properly, it is cut so that you are not limited in any range of motion while still sticking close to the skin. It is perfect for as a baselayer, but great to wear stand alone when the temperatures rise. It is definitely a go to piece for all of my outdoor excursions from snowboarding, snowshoeing, backpacking, and of course hunting.

I loved it so much I bought another 8/29/2018

I recently took advantage of the summer sale on the Aerowool, and I was not disappointed. I went on a 7 day backcountry fishing trip at the beginning of August when temps were high here in MT. I used the wick hoody as my only top layer, and it did exactly what it was promoted to do. I sweat a lot when I hike with a heavy pack, the hoody kept me dry during the heat of the day, dried quickly once the hike was over and the pack was off, and kept me warm once the sun began to set. I liked it so much that I bought another wick hoody for early season archery.

How it fits
I thought it fit well! I’m 6’5 and 220 lbs, and went with an XL. Sleeves fit great, hoody was tight fit, and the body was a little loose but I like it that way instead of super tight.

This hoodie is my new favorite piece of clothing. I wore it this past weekend in the men’s of Colorado and it did an absolute killer job wicking my sweat away! Kept me warm in the early morning and cool in the sunlight.

Awesome shirt 8/29/2018

Love this shirt. This summer it was amazing for scouting trips and fishing trips to keep the sun off your arms and neck.

In the brisk mornings I pair it with the Cirrus puffy and it’s amazing!

I rated this only a 4 because of the lengths of the sleeves. I don’t have short arms, but I feel like the sleeves are super long. The large fits perfect in every other way.

Nice piece, great improved fit and camo pattern 8/29/2018

Just bought the Wick Hoody. I have only worn it around the house. My first hunting trip is coming up in about a week so that will be the perfect test. I have 2 older sets of their clothing in ASAT and Fusion. This seems to be as good or better in fit and function as the two pairs I have which I love. They are my go to for all seasons of hunting. What I love- Great fit, light and breathable, longer sleeve length and torso length, the thumb hole option covers most of my hand for concealment but if I just wear it regular i don't even know it's there and it stays in place perfectly above my wrist, cipher is awesome! What I am unsure of- I love having the hoody option more for sun protection than warmth. Unlike my other FL hoodies this one doesn't have a zipper which helps me stay cool if I am working really hard. It's lighter in weight and has no risk of the zipper going bad, which I haven't had a problem with, but I'll have to see how I like this feature after archery season. Keep it up FL!

Nice addition 8/29/2018

Purchased this in a sold color for hunting and backpacking. The material is very comfortable and fits great. It’s a good warm weather base layer. I would like to see an even lighter weight option. In the upper 80s and 90s it felt a little too warm. The hoodie is a nice feature for concealment or to keep pesky flies of your head. It would be great to have a quarter zip or a full zip on the same item with the hoodie. Noticed a bit of wear on the arm seams. Perhaps the seam construction could be tweaked to be stronger.

The perfect base layer 8/29/2018

I’ve always liked First Lite’s base layers but with the introduction of the Wick Hoody they’ve perfected it. The combination of the improved fit, merino/nylon hybrid and the addition of the hood mean I’ll never head into the woods without one. In September especially temps fluctuate so much it’s great having a piece that can function across a wide spectrum of conditions.

I love the hooded t-shirt concept, but a lot of the synthetic versions from the other guys get swampy fast. The Wick hoodie is great for a broad range of temperatures and climates, dries fast, and doesn't stink.

I received this item quickly and was very impressed with the fit. The hood seemed big at first but I quickly realized how nice it is to have additional coverage of the sides of my face even with a hat! I've already taken it to the river fishing on a hot August afternoon. Next stop, elk camp!

Perfect early season garment 8/28/2018

I picked up my Wick Hoody about as soon as they were available. It went on several summer scouting missions with me to keep pesty bugs away and alsk to the Vortex Extreme hunting/long range shooting match in Douglas, WY. That’s where it shined and impressed me most. It was in the mid-90s on the day of the shoot, which also involves a 9 mile hike through the mountains. I kept my hood up almost the entire time to keep the sun off my neck. It breathed extremely well without any layer underneath, so I didn’t overheat despite wearing long sleeves. So far, it seems extremely durable for a garment this light. Fit is perfect - I’m 6’2” 200 lbs and went with a large. It fits exactly as it should.

I thought the Chama was awesome.... 8/28/2018

Hunting in WI, we see the full spectrum of temps. I was using the Chama hoodie for everything from spring turkey to late season whitetail. The Chama will still get used later in the season but this new wick hoodie is going to be my warmer weather go to. This thing fits so well and performs so well with warm weather and sweat and then to maintain the warmth into the cooler evenings...solid piece!

Kept me cool after some hard hikes opening weekend! 8/28/2018

This product is as advertised. Kept me cool after some hard hikes opening weekend. It felt a little lite for temps glassing in the 40’s but true to form that’s not what it was intended for. I’m 5’11” with a long torso and arms and it is a bit large. Anyone know if this will shrink with a wash? It was drenched in sweat and did not stink.

Perfect for September archery and layering 8/25/2018

I got this for warm Sept days for archery whitetail and resident goose hunts. Put it on today when it came in for a hike and cut shooting lanes to my stand. Shirt was comfortable on an 80 degree sunny day. Kept the sun off but didn't feel hot or itchy. Very happy with this addition to my first lite gear!

How it fits
Pleasantly surprised that there was plenty of length in the sleeves for me to use the thumbholes. I am 6'1" tall but have a 6'3" wingspan. Plenty of fabric in the body for a loose fit. Probably could have gotten away with a medium.

Perfect for warm season hunting 8/23/2018

This versatile piece is a must for any late summer/early fall hunt. Keeps you cool in the heat - the hood for sun protection is game changing, and works great as a base layer on the cooler mornings/evenings. This piece will quickly become one of my most worn in the line-up ranking up there with the classic chama. September archery in MD can range from 60-90 degrees and this single hoody will cover that range. Love it!

Oh, the power of wool! 8/3/2018

Wow, the first thing I noticed was that real wool smell. Not overpowering but instantly noticeable and gave me that nostalgic wool feeling. As someone who hunts in the deep south here in Florida its almost always hot at some point in the day. I have been preparing for an early season western elk hunt so I was intrigued by a versatile light base layer that could do double duty as base layer and outerwear. So far have only worn it around the house as casual attire and "chore" work, but definitely a great fit and feel without the dreaded wool itch. Excited to order some bottoms in "aero wool" now that I'm confident in the comfort.

How it fits
Perfect fit to serve both as a snug, tight cut outerwear and also as a freely moving base layer.

Awesome light weight piece perfect for tons of late summer early fall outdoor activities 7/29/2018

Probably my new fav FL piece. Can wear this out on the town or in the woods. The stretch to this hoodie gives so much comfort and allows flexibility wherever you’re adventure takes you. Very comfortable piece 7/28/2018

I've been using this hoody while backpacking and hiking in 55 to 75 degree temps. It's enough to keep the chill off first thing in the morning, yet doesn't get too hot. It does a good job wicking moisture and keeping the insects from feasting on me. The humidity is high in my area, but the aerowool still dries quickly and with no odor. This was my first purchase from first lite, and not my last!

Where have you been all of my life? 7/28/2018

This is what I've been waiting for...seriously. I have two of these already and a third on the way. I used to wear Cabelas+Icebreaker long sleeve crews but when those got discontinued I couldn't find another shirt I liked (even FL). Always been a Chama guy, love the hoody but hate the zipper. This fits the bill to a T! It's soft and supple, wicks well, and has a hood that can act as a sun shade.

How it fits
I love that this is actually long enough. I've intentionally washed it hard several times to see how washing would effect fit and it has held up well. Fit has not noticeably changed after washing. I am 6'0" and skinny, the medium is a good fit. Torso is long enough to stay past my waist, arms are long enough to actually use the thumb holes.

A Very Functional Piece 7/7/2018

This hoody was an absolute game changer for me. I was fortunate enough to get this just in time before I set out to do the Exo Death Hike this year. I put this piece on Thursday night and didn't take it off until Sunday night. It kept the sun off of my neck and arms especially, but also wicked away that sweat. I didn't have to put on sunscreen which was awesome because I hate the feel of it when I am sweating at a rapid rate. This hoody kept me super cool as well; those side mesh panels are awesome for dumping the extra heat. I now wear my Conifer Green one around town, hiking, and fishing. And then I will wear my Fusion one for this upcoming hunting season. I highly recommend buying one! Or, do what I did and buy two!

How it fits
Fit was great! I'm roughly 5'11 and about 150ish lbs and ordered a medium. One thing I noticed with the fit was that it had a more athletic fit to it, which I am a fan of. I really do like the stretch that is built in to these pieces!

Great piece 7/6/2018

Great piece but having worn tons of sun hoodies as a climbing guide, the hood is a little small. If the hood could extend a little further so it could wrap around the bill of a ball cap it would really help with keeping the sun out especially while glassing.

Other than that the fit is great for a skinny tall guy in a medium, stretch is great, fabric is pretty good at keeping things cool.

Game Changer 7/3/2018

This is one of the pieces in the 2018 line that I looked forward to using the most. I LOVE HOODS. Being able to use our new Aerowool on the water both days last weekend reinforced just how game changing this piece actually is. This lightweight hoody gives me complete sun protection for my upper body when out fishing while simultaneously wicking sweat from my torso and drying very quickly. Not only is this thing a great base layer, it's a great standalone layer. It insulates, wicks, dries fast AND offers complete UV protection. Throw the hood up over your trucker cap and you'll never again think about having to apply sunscreen to your back, neck or arms. This is my new go to base layer for all season and activities.

Impressive 7/3/2018

Wore the Wick Hoody for the majority of the Exo Death Hike this year. I put it on Thursday night and didn't take it off till Saturday night. It did a fantastic job of keeping me cool and dry during throughout the extended period of high exertion. I was impressed on this trip in particular by the piece's lack of smell after continual use and by it's softness and comfort . I put it back on for the second half of the last day and it still felt fantastic next to skin. No itching, no chaffing, very little odor. The fabric is on point.
