I got this one for my wife and she loves it she wears it everywhere. Fit was perfect to sizing chart specs would recommend either men’s or women’s kiln hoody
Just received the Kiln hoody! So happy I decided to purchase this, I'd been mulling it over for a while. Went out last night to try it out, cool temps , wind and rain and I was nice and comfortable. Used it as my primary layer and it was perfect, not too thick or thin. The hood is comfortable, not too snug and stays in place. Looking forward to really putting it to the test! This will be perfect as a primary top of base layer for everything!
I wore this for elk archery in Idaho at the beginning of September. It was unusually hot, but this top still worked for me! Wool is the best- it keeps you warm AND it keeps you cool. I'm an athletic 5'5" 145# and the medium fits well, a small would have fit, also.
I am new to the hunting world and have been overwhelmed with all the options out there. But look no further, I have seen the “lite”. This is high quality wool and fits so well! Does not smell and was perfect in the 60 degree weather while traipsing around in the woods. I would typically order a small but based on other reviews I went with a medium. It’s very comfortable and I could wear it over another base layer when it gets colder. I may order another one and use it as my base layer and in that case would go with a small.
This hoodie is exceptional! It is wicking and great not only for early season whitetails and spring turkey but as a base layer in the mountains hunting elk and in Canada hunting bears!
I love the fit and the hoodie is great since I wear a baseball cap all the time.
I got this right before elk rifle season last fall, and wore it with my new Aurora Puffy jacket. With this layer between my baselayer and the jacket I didn't ever get cold, even when soaked through in an all-day downpour and pretty heavy winds in the afternoon. I love how the hood is like a balaclava when you zip it all the way up or is just a nice high-neck sweater if you leave the hood down. Super small packed down and I take it with me on pretty much all trips now just in case I want it.
I love these tops. So comfortable to wear and perfect weight for fall, winter, and spring use.
This piece regulates body temperature very well. I am warm when I need to be, but not sweaty when I exert myself. Runs small if you think you’d like a layer under. I normally get a small/4 but I ended up liking the fit of the large best. It’s not baggy, but smaller sizes were too snug. Length is ample for my long monkey arms!
The Kiln Hoody was the solution to my main dilemma for over 30 years hunting, backpacking and fishing in the back country. I tend to run cold as a rule but sweat easily with exertion when climbing hills and mountains. Even with the best dry-fit sport bra and my usual dry fit base layer I would be cold and wet while stopped during my hunts. I wore my Kiln hoody for the first time opening weekend in Montana this year when it was -10 below leaving the truck. I had my usual sweat going up the mountain and over the next hour and half sitting in the frigid temperatures I was toasty warm. The Kiln hoody wicked away the moisture and while my bra was slightly damp, the merino wool provided a comfortable base warmth. I wore the hoody 6 days in a row without washing and no odor detected. I have since washed it per instructions and am looking forward to wearing it on my next hunt. The fit was spot on, I am 5'6", 125 and ordered a medium so it was snug but not skin tight. I am delighted with my new base layer!
Love this base layer. It keeps me so warm and it's so soft, not itchy like other wool. I wear this base layer with a normal tanktop under. I have worn this in 50 degree sunny days to stormy negative temperatures. I'm always comfortable because it adapts to my body by keeping heat in or being breathable when I'm too hot. I've also worn this for a week straight without it smelling horrible. This should be a staple in your closet.
