I'm a tall and fairly muscular gal. I always get disappointed with inseams on ladies pants being too short. If I find a pair that fit reasonably I usually stick with that brand for awhile.... First Lite gets the nod from me. I wish they were longer, but they fit rather well and I didn't need gaiters to make up for the short inseam. The Large size seems a bit bigger in the waist and hips, but this will be the perfect pant to layer with this fall. Took them camping/fishing this weekend and found them extremely comfortable to move in with loads of pocket space.
I have a 33-34" inseam (most pants are 30-32") so I was nervous these would be too short. They are so stretchy that even though they barely hit the top of my foot standing, when I crouch down to the ground or take a large step up the bottom of the leg doesn't rise up at all! I assumed I would have to wear gaiters with these to keep rocks and cheat grass out of my wool socks, but the coverage is perfect even for my long legs.
These are also the most comfortable and functioning athletic pants I've ever owned; they are as soft and comfortable as soft track pants. They have a slim fit for quiet stalks, but they are not tight like leggings or jeans; there is some air flow between leg and pant which is great for layering with long johns or sweating in 85 degree sun for early season and keeping the air flow going.
These are breathable and quickly dry from my sweat or water, but when a chilly strong wind picks up they block most of it and keep my body heat.
THE POCKETS! There are deep pockets, (like man pockets) and yet these still have a feminine, attractive fit! There are also side pockets on both sides with a zipper pocket on top; perfect for keeping essentials nearby.
There is a very comfortable elastic waist that is scrunched in the back so I don't have to wear a belt (even though the Medium gives me room to grow since I'm a dress size 4) these pants stay up even while backpacking and sweating.
I ordered a size medium and the length is just right but the waist and width is quite large. I don't have the smallest hips either so it slightly surprised me. I am returning for a size small even though the length is perfect hoping there won't be so much extra space in the backside.
FABRIC IS EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE ON YOUR SKIN AND DOES NOT BIND WITH A THERMAL LAYER UNDERNEATH. HAVING NOW WORN THIS PANT IN EARLY AND LATE SEASON, FOR EVERYTHING FROM SPRING TURKEY TO WINTER WHITETAIL, THIS IS MY GO TO PANT! WELL CUT FOR FEMALES, I SIZED UP FOR MY WIDE HIPS AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO WEAR HEAVY THERMALS UNDER. I WOULD BUY THEM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.
I was extremely pleased when I tried these on for the first time. They feel very comfortable; nice soft interior and lots of stretch so it doesn't restrict my range of motion at all. I needed something for deer and turkey when my insulated pants aren't necessary and I think these will be perfect. Looking forward to using them on an October Wyoming antelope hunt!
