I bought the Sanctuary Jacket along with the Sanctuary Bibs because I was tired of clothing that was supposed to keep me warm not doing its job. No worries here - this jacket works! First day in the woods was 22 degrees w a slight wind and I couldn’t believe how warm I was. Second hunt (that evening) was 30 degrees with a 20mph wind in my face, and again I was warm! Jacket is very quiet, also. Love the pockets - put some hand warmers in there and I had no need for gloves. I could not be more pleased w the Jacket and Bibs.
On 11/16/2019 I spent almost 11 hours in my Kestrel Flex Saddle hanging off a tree in 7°F temperatures with 15-20mph winds sustained. It was my first climb and hunt with the Sanctuary System (bibs and jacket). I’m absolutely amazed and thrilled that I have finally found quality clothing that works exactly as advertised for a very cold and sedentary style of hunting. My only layers were the First Lite Furnace tops and bottoms. Not once did I get chilled or even remotely cold. Very impressed!!!! Wish I pulled the trigger on this system years ago!
My XL Sanctuary Jacket came in and wore it to my tree stand that afternoon/evening. Dropped my fleece beanie walking in so had to resort to the hood on the jacket for warmth. It was -12 Celsius or roughly 11 degrees Fahrenheit and I can honestly say that this was the first time I’ve been out for a sit in a tree stand in that kind of cold and didn’t get cold by the end! My head stayed totally comfortable with just the Sanctuary hood! Also worth mentioning the jacket breathes very well! Definitely the first time I’ve got a piece of high end cold weather gear that lived up to its hype! You won’t be wasting your money! Now I just need the bibs... in summary: worth the money, quiet, keeps you warm in cold weather, breathes.
Need this in 3xl please.....
Overall great jacket and system from first lite. My main comments are on the sizing of the jacket. I had to return my Large sanctuary bibs and get an xl because the fit around the waist just seemed a little tight even though I prefer the athletic fit. I got a large in the jacket thinking it was sized a little larger for layering. It was sized more than enough for layering and actually feels baggy with a base layer and sawtooth vest. In my opinion I could use a medium jacket and XL bibs. I am 6’ 195 lbs and I think that there should not be this big of gap in sizing, especially with a jacket/bib combo. Don’t get me wrong, I love every piece of first lite gear I own, it just seems like every piece I have received is a wild card to how it will fit. Something I think first lite should focus on a bit more in future development.
