I bought this for a healthy boost to my cold weather layers and have not been disappointed. I am 6’ 2” and 190 lbs and Fit for me was slightly big. Length is perfect for my size. It is a a fairly thick merino layer that is great as a stand alone sweater or as a mid layer for cold weather. I have been wearing this daily in weather ranging from 0 degrees to -17 degrees in the anchorage area. It has been the perfect addition to my other cold weather gear. Material is comfortable and stretchy, great warmth to weight ratio and regulates temperature wonderfully. My experience with firstlite products is that you get what you pay for and this is no exception. Warm, breathable and comfortable. Buy with confidence.
This was exactly the piece I have been looking for a nice heavy merino base layer. Very comfortable and sizing was perfect.
Have not had it long but impressed so far. Very warm without a lot of bulk. Used it for some long hikes as a middle layer. Did not overheat. Will be my go-to second layer when it gets chilly.
Who's "they" you might ask? Specifically Nate at First Lite. This piece is really comfortable and warm. When he and I talked, he said I would be able to feel the difference when I took it out of the package, and he was right. By far the nicest base layer piece I've owned for colder weather hunting. The thumb holes work perfect, and the length in the sleeves is great for wearing under other pieces. Sometimes with those thumb holes on other brands they feel like they "pull" in the sleeves when you use them, but not with this piece. As a guy who is pretty thin overall, the piece is definitely not compression fit, but works great at keeping me warm so far on the cold weather hunts here in Wisconsin. Extremely happy to have taken Nate's advice and purchased this with my other First Lite items.
