I wore these for about 5 days before I had to put them in the dryer to tighten them up. If I had some wool sweats I would have the ultimate bottom layers cough cough, hint hint.
Also when I was on a hunt I shared camp with a guy who was pretty high up at a company that rhymes with bore-tex and all of his base layers were First Lite. That’s says a lot about these products.
If you need that layer of warmth, these are the ticket. When the temp dips down really low, I combine these with the fuse base layer.
Every product I’ve purchased from first lite has been top notch. In this case the furnace long john falls short due to a fatal flaw.. the waistband stretches out after only a couple uses, to the point where it bunches up around the waist and sags. It sucks when your $110 long johns won’t stay up on your waist. Otherwise they are very warm and comfortable.
These are very very warm! Fit is pretty good. If you have ever worn UA 4.0 these are like those on steroids. I have worn down into the 20’s with real feel and they keep me sweating on spot and stalk hunts. I highly recommend for cold weather.
These are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on. I'll pay whatever they want to put one or two pockets on these bad boys for me
