After reading previous reviews that indicated this shirt runs small I ordered a medium. When it arrived I was very excited. The material was nice, the shirt color was exactly what was advertised; however, the medium was still so tight. If I was going to draw back a bow, I feel my armpit seams would split. I am 5'3" and 125lbs and typically wear a small or size 2 in women's. I considered returning the shirt and exchanging for a large, but I fear it will still be snugger than I would like. The quality is great, but if you don't want too snug of a fit I recommend going 2 sizes up.
Wow, these are the bee's knees for base layers in cool or cold weather. I am a rather well endowed woman (G cup) and always ended up in a men's top when buying hunting clothes. I took the plunge with these and was recently able to test them as long johns in cooler weather while camping in New England. Just a wonderful top... Comfortable, not itchy, tail is long enough to keep you warm when you bend or reach for something, warm, and I love the thumbholes. As I was on the road hopping campgrounds and hotels, I can say that you can do a respectable washing job in the shower of any cheap hotel or campground bathhouse. I used the mini bar soap, rang out the excess moisture, wrapped the top in a towel like a swiss cake roll, pressed on it, left it to dry overnight in the towel (don't want to stretch the material by hanging), and then popped a hair dryer into the arm holes for a few minutes to finish the process. Dead easy and worked like a charm.
I'm 5'10", 180lbs, athletic build. For being a bigger gal I tend to wear Large in most everything. Having my broad shoulders and long arms can certainly change how these items fit me. I had to return to get the XL to fit my arms and shoulders. The L I couldn't even get my arms through to try on properly. I just need the XL for most things in the top department. Other than that, this was a great base layer that was moisture wicking and kept odor down.
The arms are too short for me but the overall length of the shirt is too long! I'm also not a big fan of how tight the collar is on my neck. But overall great quality shirt.
According to the sizing chart and my usual size across all other active/outdoor brands, I should be a small. I started with the small, which fit like a corset and 3/4 length sleeve shirt, and returned it for a medium. I'm disappointed that the medium also feels small enough that my neck feels choked and I keep wanting to pull the sleeves down. That said, the quality seems great and I'm returning it for a large... fingers crossed!
