Wore this shirt as my only layer when starting my summit accent in the Canadian Rockies in early Oct. Kept most of my upper body cool with the exception of my back against my pack. This area always collect moisture. I was shocked however, how quick this shirt did dry as I didn't need to change my shirt when descending... (wasted space in my pack carrying additional cloths). I only had to pair with a shell when we got socked in when jus under 3000 masl but I didn't need anything extra to keep warm.
I either pack this shirt or switch into it if I'm not already wearing it no matter the activity or weather.
This is my second favorite piece of FL gear. Second to the wick, this piece of gear is always on me or in my pack ready to go. I love the gear and it's a little roomy for me compared to the wick, but it is amazing. Fits well and is a great next to skin layer.
Unbelievably warm and breathable, pulls the sweat right off your skin leaving you dry. Great layer by itself in 65-60 degrees, always my base layer any temp below that.
Awesome shirt and by far my new favorite base layer, went with a large based on a recommendation from first lite customer service but it’s a little bit too big, will save it to use over some other baselayers after I buy some mediums and try those out.
After trying brands like Under Armour, Cabelas E.C.W.C.S., and several other name brand thermals, I am completely sold on the FL Kiln top! Nothing is as soft, warm, and just flat out as comfortable as this top. Other tight-fitting thermals like UA always seems to get uncomfortable (for me, in the armpits) after long days. The Kiln top never gets uncomfortable and actually makes my days in the field more enjoyable. As a plus, it dries very quickly and odor is incredibly suppressed after a few days of use in the field.
