This is my first piece of First Lite gear and I couldn't be happier. I wore this for five days straight and there was little to no odor...that I could tell. I wore this as my outermost layer, with a long sleeve shirt underneath, when I began my hikes in the morning in 26 degree weather. The Furnace not only kept me warm but was breathable enough to keep me from sweating. The shirt was also a fantastic layer when I was still hunting and I am certain it contributed to me staying warm enough to hunt all day. The fit is also great as it conforms to the body contours but is not tight or clingy. This is my first piece of First Lite gear but definitely not the last.
Fantastic for cold weather hunts in the treestand or duck blind.
I have used First Lite gear for a few years, ever since I wore a Llano long sleeve on an August Pronghorn hunt in Western Nebraska. Performed well keeping me cool in 80-90 degree heat.
Purchased an XL Furnace in Black for a return trip in November for temps in the 10-20 degree range,
Great fit, fleeced interior feels great.
I have been recently made the jump to First Lite, with the Furnace being my 2nd item of my layering system. And let me tell you, I could not have made a better choice. The 1/4 zip Large fit me so perfectly, with plenty of mobility, yet no sloppiness. This has kept me warm in the 40's when paired with just a next to skin layer. I will for sure be a First Lite lifer with the quality they produce, and their dedication to conservation.
I recently bought this for a trip up to northern BC. Last year I froze while moose hunting so wanted another wool layer to add to my system. Naturally, this year it didn’t drop below zero (Celsius). I still found this was the perfect layer for hiking to spots. This is warm enough to keep off the chill but not so heavy that you sweat buckets while hiking with a pack. I ordered the conifer thinking it was a neutral colour I could wear even if not hunting and figured I wouldn’t be wearing it as an outer layer. If I could go back I would order it in camo since I find it’s the perfect layer for spot and stalk and I wear it as my outer layer frequently! The pocket is also very useful. Definitely a good addition to the inventory.
Ordered a medium and it fits perfect.
