I purchased this shorts sometime in May, before moving from OR to CA. I must say that they are my "ride or die" pair of shorts now. I wear them pretty much daily from school to the range to hunting in SO Cal.
at the beginning, I thought the elastic band was unnecessary, but now I love it. it allowed me to easily conceal my CCW in OR without having that uncomfortable feeling of a regular pants or shorts hip band. The zipper side pocket is great, the groin stretch part is a must in my opinion and this shorts are nothing short of it.
I would totally buy another pair!
These have been hands down one of my favorite purchases from First Lite. These shorts are perfect in every way. The fit is perfect and the quality is top notch. likely going to by more pairs.
I bought these shorts to use for both casual wear, fishing and some warm weather hunting. They have not disappointed! They are great at keeping everything underneath them dry, they flex where they need too, and they are comfortable enough to wear all day long. I'm a taller, skinnier fella so the mediums ran a bit loose in the waist but were perfect for length. After running them in the dryer once, they shrunk down just enough to give me the perfect fit. I see myself buying another pair in the future.
I've had the shorts now since the end of June and I can say that I really dig them. I practically lived in them when I was home for a while watching my little dude on paternity leave. I've used them as part of backpacking trips, scouting trips, or just around town. The fit is awesome and there's just enough "oomph" to the fabric not to rip immediately at the glance of a briar bush in the woods. One thing that was kind of a turnoff was being a lefty I like to put my wallet in my left hand butt pocket, which these shorts have none. Awesome, guess I'll just have a minor panic attack every time I go to reach for it. I'm also a little bigger for most of the other FL guys kicking around the mountain, so whether due to my laundry skills or my chubby thighs they started developing pills in the upper thigh/crotch area. These dudes have the comfort dialed in, just need a little work on durability -- or I could lose weight. Guess I'll get to hiking.
Sometimes I hate the fact that I appreciate great gear. This is a clear example. Absolutely, hands-down, best pair of shorts I've ever put on. Not even close. Ultra comfort, plenty of storage, lightweight, quick drying, ultra flexible in all directions, awesome fit. I feel like I'm ruined and must have more. $20 superstore shorts just aren't a comparison anymore. I'm typically a 36x32-34 in pants, so I opted for the large and these fit like nothing else I own. Highest recommendation.
