Really great product. Love the handwarmer pocket and full leg zippers. Runs true to size, but just a tad small for my preference. I think these will fill the void in my cold weather closet. But will probably be overkill for most hunts in Louisiana/Mississippi.
Would give 5 stars if the butt material wasn’t so noisy. I understand the benefit of keeping your bottom dry from a wet stand/ATV seat, but I would much rather have the bibs be completely silent.
Finding the right system for the bitter cold late season is difficult but this season is different. My search is over and the Solitude system is exactly the answer. plenty of warmth, tons of pocket space and flexible enough to climb a stand, go through brush and maintain silence. The fabricate is quiet enough to hear your own breath but durable enough to withstand vigorous hunts.
Never write reviews but had to show some respect for the team at Firstlite. I ordered solitude set, catalyst set, and furnace set and they are the top of the line for comfort and fit regardless of them being hunting gear or not. I’m a 32-33 waist and ordered large in everything except the furnace pants. The catalyst were a bit big in the waist but I contacted them and they got the exchange processed and sent straight to my email. It's the first time I have bought anything in a long time and not felt like a victim as a customer. Happy customer
Great product I use this well into late season and am never cold
Great product! Can’t wait to use these this fall. As for truly good review I would need to use them for a season or two to see how they hold up. As far as I can tell right now though, they are really nice and super comfortable
From someone who knows first hand about being cold while hunting, this is one of the best kits around. I used it all mid - late season last year and never got cold. The jacket that go with this jacket are a game changer too. The KitlInk pass thorugh pockets that go right to the warm pocket of the bibs are awesome! Your hands will never get cold. I used this system in temps around 4F, and I was snugg as a bug out there. I am 5'11 and 198lbs and the L was a perfect fit even with a few base layers on underneath.
My past experience with "hunting bibs" has been a bulky, loose fitting work bib with a camo pattern, until now! These bibs are an athletic cut but not too restrictive, I can draw my bow easily and climb into my stand with ease of movement. I like the pocket location- you can get to them while sitting down. the construction of this garment is first class. My wife was skeptical when she read the invoice, but even she agreed these were the Holy Grail of hunting bibs!
Well done, high recommend.
I'm a first time buyer and just got my FirstLite Solitude Jacket and Bibs (both size Large). I was deciding between a medium and large, and I am glad I went with the large. With wearing baselayers in the extremely cold days in the midwest I will be perfectly warm and will still be comfortable without being too constricted. Can' wait for hunting season so I can get some good use out of them.
After a season of use in Minnesota and Wisconsin I think the solitude system is great. Kept me warm and stayed quiet in cold temperatures. I gave the 37.5 technology a pretty good test one day and it seemed to work well. I forgot some thing at the truck and did not remove the jacket and bibs for the hike. I got pretty warm during the hike, but stayed warm during the afternoon/evening sit.
I purchased the Solitude jacket and bibs primarily to hunt Whitetails stationary from a stand. I didn't get a chance to test it out on too frigid of conditions given the mild winter this year. That said, the jacket and bibs have the right amount of insulation--enough to keep you warm while not being overly bulky or too hot, with plenty of room to add underlayers as insulation as needed. I find that both the jacket and bibs are cut really well and allow plenty of maneuverability, including the hood. I still have plenty of room under the jacket/bibs for plenty of layers that I can add or remove based on the weather conditions. One thing is evident: the Solitude setup is well-designed and First Lite has really incorporated feedback from hunters. There are a lot of features like extra pockets, zippers placement, clips for binos, and overall function and fit. First Lite really put some thought in this setup and it shows. You can think of the Solitude setup as an insulated and enhanced version of the soft shell Catalyst. Not entirely waterproof in a downpour but it would take some rain. The Solitude jacket/bib setup is well worth the investment for the serious and dedicated hunter.
