Sizing Note

Sizing boot gaiters can be a bit tricky.

Generally, if you wear full boots (Kenetreks, Danners, Lowas) and/or have large calves (size 10 and bigger) you will likely want to go with the LG.

If you have smaller feet or calves (size 9 and smaller) or wear a lighter boot or trail shoe (Solomon, La Sportiva) you will want to go with the SM.

Good quality but not the best fit for short hunters

I am a 5'3" female wearing a Women's size 7 shoe. Although I found the quality of the material including the strap on the bottom to be very durable, unfortunately there are only two sizes and the smaller one I still found to be too large for it to work as intended. Ideally, the top part of the gaiter should fit snugly around the calf, preventing any snow from getting in the top. It seems as though the top cinches above my calf rather than around it. Although I have not had issues with the gaiter falling down much because of the structural integrity, I struggle with it in deep snow because the there is still spacing at the top allowing some snow to creep in, despite me pulling that strap as tight as it goes. It seems as though it is too tall, as the top of the gaiter cinches above my calf rather than around it, which is a thinner area. If it was a little shorter, I might be able to cinch it properly. Otherwise, I love First Lite products. I hope there are some mods to this in the future because it seems to have a lot of potential.

Heavy duty

Bought these to replace some cheap broken ones. These seem like they will hold up for a long time. The quality seems great, for my tripe of hunting these have become a must have.

Amazing!! Sizing can be confusing

First off these gators worked great. Helped insulate my feet and kept me dry and warm in cold snow temps. I wear a 10.5 crispi Nevada and have small calves.I ordered the large gators and was worried about the fit at first. How we after using them for a week I feel the sizing recommendations from first light were right. I like how excess boot strap is hidden inside of the gator. I also really like that you can set the calve strap once and not half to touch it again. Putting them on is fast and easy.

Bullet Proof

Two years ago I was on an upland hunt in the GNW of New Hampshire and got socked in with 3 days of rain. I had the wrong gear. I was wearing the brush busting double thick mountain khaki paints. The problem was I was chasing a pair of well trained pointers and a bud who is a trainer and all but a goat. At any rate this is not flat terrain and these paints don’t stretch. My legs were shot.

This year, I wore the Corrugated Guide Pants with the Brambler Gaiter. The system was perfect. I was amazed at how little wear the paints took from the abuse and the got thrashed but have shown almost no deteriorating, fraying at all.. I do have a concern about the under the foot strap material, but we’ll see.

I would also add that this terrain is boggy, swampy and over grown as hell and the gaiters are the key to avoiding wet feet. My boots are the Crispi Hunter GTX. It was a perfect system.

Off the mark

Very disappointed. Used for 6 days on CO elk hunt. Bottom strap wore out after 3 days. Velcro came undone a couple of times. Noisier than similar products from other brands.
