I hunt the upstate Carolinas, where temp sings can be in the 60s in the morning and 80s in the evening. I saddle hunt so I tend to do a lot of walking and the wick hoody kept me cool on those miserable humid and hot days. I would buy it again without a doubt. A built in face mask, option, would be my only recommendation.
This is my preferred base top for winter and summer activities. The hood provides great protection from the sun and the wind!
I bought this as a layer for some windy prairie deer hunting in Nebraska. I knew I liked it but on the third day when I wore some cotton stuff was when I realized the difference. This fit great, stretches well, feels good on the skin, keep me warm when I wasn’t hiking but I didn’t feel clammy and wet when I was sweaty. I had the Grid fleece hoodie over the top of it and a light weight vest from 40’s-60 degrees with a 10-15mph wind
I bought this for hunting in the early fall for waterfowl and whitetail in PA with some dove hunting here and there. I haven’t used it for it yet, but I would in is gone it would be great for spring turkey. The temps have ranged from 45-75° while hunting and it has performed beautifully. It kept me cool in warm temps and wicked sweat away and provided some warmth on those cooler mornings. My only critique would be sizing around the shoulders and chest. It isn’t terrible by any means and I have a big chest and broad shoulders. I usually have the same difficulty with clothing. Overall extremely pleased.
This was my first first lite product. Been a huge rinella fan for a long time so been wanting to try their products for a long time to say the least. So I just returned from a quota archery hunt in East Tennessee and wore this the entirety of my trip. Dried quick when sweaty but kept me warm when the wind picked up in the evenings once the sun went down. I usually have a problem with long sleeve garments due to having very long arms. This hoodie fit perfectly and I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.
Bought the wick hoody for a light weight layer. Wore the hoody 8 days in a row as my base layer in the mornings when we started out first climb then wore it as my only layer once my body got warmed up. was super comfortable on the skin and there was no irritation. I rinsed the wick hoody in the creek twice during the duration of trip...after ringing out the excess water I put it back on. It dried quickly but also kept mem cool in the afternoons while chasing bulls through some pretty steep and rough country. I had another light weight merino layer...(another brand) and put it on one day and it rubbed me raw under my pack straps, went right back to the wick hoody and never looked back! I will most certainly be buying a second one! It is the best light weight layer I have ever worn. The hood also gave me protection from the sun when side hilling when sun was up high.
I took a wick 150 with the hood and wick 150 without a hood plus a wick 250 with a hood on an elk hunt to idaho. Temp ranged 20 degrees at night up to 70 degrees during the day. I layered all 3 depending on the weather with just a t shirt on under them. I was not prepared for it to get that cold but have all 3 gave me a good versatile arrangement and easy to add or remove 1 layer depending on the conditions
Love it! Made me realize I have man boobs and could really use a push-up
I love it. Made me realize I have man boobs and really use a push-up .
Just purchased this hoody to go with my corrugate guide pants which I purchased the season before for the archery deer in Utah I hunt northern Utah right on the border of Idaho and it’s usually way hot during august and cool and windy in the nights and mornings. High dry alpine and desert I wore this hoody for a week straight only took it off to air it out when cooling off hiking throw it over a branch dry in minutes it never started to smell and is the perfect single layer for warm dry temps. I love this gear will be purchasing the merino pants next for sure.!!!
