Cool and Clean!

I needed a comfortable, temp regulating, early season base layer that didn't stink after a day of hard hunting. I wore the Wick Boot Top base for early season archer, deer and elk, and was not disappointed. They remained as fresh as one can expect, but didn't stink so bad I wanted to burn them after a short amount of time. These, coupled with the First Lite merino socks of the appropriate length, made for some great hunting in warmer temps.

Does the job!

I has this as a base layer under the Sawbuck Brush Pants. They kept me plenty warm on my 4th season Elk Hunt in CO. And they kept my dry, wicking away the sweat. They breathe really well and keep the odor away!

insulation where you want it, ventilation where you need it

In the past, I've struggled to find the optimal base layer bottoms for cold mornings and warm treks up the mountain. I wore these things all day and night on a late September elk hunt, and hesitated changing out of them on day six because because they were so comfy and remained odorless. I never got too sweaty or too cold; they felt just right. They pair well with gaiters too, allowing for increased air flow between your socks and bottoms. Perfect for Warm or Cool Weather

Both sitting in the cold for turkey and sitting 90°+ in a kayak fishing the middle of a lake, these are the greatest base layer possible. The merino wicking keeps a good temp no matter what I'm doing. I've run into issues where full length bottom base layers (long-john style) have caused pressure points tangled with socks tucked into boots. The boot top is the perfect length to cover but not be a waste of material (looking at you Ultralight Hikers and Hunters). You also can't forget the antimicrobial magic of merino when picking chones. I would legitimately wear these everyday if I had the opportunity.

Weight: 140lbs - 150lbs

Fit Comments: The sizing was exactly what I had expected. The waist fits snug without being tight, and the length was enough that it barely overlapped the tops of my Mountain Athlete Triad Socks.
Less friction and less swamp!

The Windward side of the Hawaiin island of Oahu is largely described with one simple word humid. My life here is with the Marines. Every day, whether it in the field, or working a regular day, is nonstop sweating and discomfort. I bought the boot top length wicking bottoms in hopes of finding respite from these circumstances. This product performed everything advertised to an astonishing degree. Sweat accumulation was mitigated, therefore leading to more comfort throughout the day, and after the sun dipped behind the mountains. The merino wool blend did a phenomenal job of odor mitigation as well. When the day was over and it was time to drop pants for hygiene, well, I was not floored with stink as per usual. I recommend anything First Lite to my fellow Marines at every chance I get. I look forward to buying this product but in the usual boxer cut!
