Great gloves. I have massive hands and always struggle to find good gloves that fit well. The XXL fit as close to perfect as you can get without having them custom made. These gloves have been very comfortable on a few early hunts with temperatures from mid 70s to the upper 30s at night. They are well made and should last a few years of hard hunting. They are so comfortable you will forget you have them on, I know I did. I was elbow deep in a German red stag before I realized I had them on. A thorough rinse in cold running water, slow air dry and they are good as new. Surprisingly they didn’t even pick up the gut smell. Great piece of kit.
Was waiting for these to come back into stock and I’m glad I did...I found my new ‘Upland’ Gloves for this season and hopefully for many more to follow. Well made, great fit and comfortable with the features I’m looking for....
Best and most comfortable gloves I’ve ever worn. Coming from the military these gloves work well. I would only say if you wear medium, you may want to get a small if you’re not a fan of extra length fingertips.
Man oh man I have had my eye on these and as usual with all of Firstlite they do not disappoint. I cant wait to use these for Elk season.
Disclaimer, I have not used in the field so I will update once I do. The fit is great, I wear a medium glove and these mediums fit both length and finger width. Very comfortable. I do not have a restricted thumb like mentioned in other comments. Seem solidly built, with great dexterity.
These gloves are my go to for year round work/hunting. They have just enough warmth so you won't loose your fingers in the dead of winter, if you put your hands in a jacket pocket. And, they are cool enough to wear while using them in the dog days of summer. The palms are durable enough to stand up to everything I have thrown at them from the briars of VA swamps, mesquite of TX, and sagebrush of WY. I wouldn't go trying to box with the knuckle pads, but they are just enough to keep your hands comfortable knocking them against a tree/rock.
Love these things. It is so nice to be able to operate my touch screen devices without removing my gloves.
You will get attached, and if you lose them like I did you will regret ever getting them. Who ever said it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all is full of it. My heart hurts. If youre still reading, yes these gloves are great. I ran them last year with the areowool liners and it was a match made in phalanx heaven. Elk hunting in the Oregon Cost with all of the Himalayan blackberry and stinging nettle was no big deal. I used these gloves while fishing also, they did great and I still had great sensitivity. I also use them while cycling to school here in oregon and when paired with a liner they are great.
I used these gloves for Whitetail and waterfowl season in Michigan this past year. They worked great in the tree stand coupled with the Solitude jacket. When my hands got cold I put them in the muff pockets to get warm, when I was ready to grab the gun or bow I had plenty of flexibility to make a comfortable shot. They worked great in the duck blind. I liked being able to load shells without getting my gloves caught.
The glove is the perfect size/thickness that you never have to take them off. The touch fingertips actually work way better than others I've used in the past. My hands get cold pretty easily and I've found that I like these on my more mild hunts (32 and above) as a full time glove. Otherwise I'll bring the Alpine gloves and use the Shale only when I need the dexterity.
