The Kiln is a perfect laying piece, great fitting and well designed garment. I’ve used it on late November South Dakota pheasant hunts, December moose hunts in Northwestern Ontario and wear it shed hunting. This piece with a windbreaker is plenty to keep you warm when actively hunting. The merino breaths incredibly well and does not stink even after multiple days of use. I wear it often and it’s holding up well however the thumb hole threading will likely be the first to go as your hands are an obvious high contact/friction area. I usually have to order xl for shirts/sweaters to get the length in the torso and arms but always hate how the width is excessive. I ordered this in a large and it fits perfect, plenty of fabric to tuck into pants and sleeve length is perfect. Highly recommend
Soft and warm. Don't be dirty. Seriously, this thing is so comfortable to wear. Perfect layering piece. I ordered a large, which I am usually, and did so knowing it runs a little big. So I could layer underneath. I'd get medium if I wanted real snug. 5'9, 192 lbs. 20 inch torso.
What do you say with a product that has hundreds of 5 star reviews? Clearly a ba hoody. I love the versatility of the Kiln - light, thin, and non-restrictive, without sacrificing warmth. Merino wool is second to none, especially with the spandex addition. I went with the XL, which was perfect for me. I don't like my clothing to fit super tight, but it's not too big either. The sleeves are on point, I can fully extend without any issues. Excellent for archery layering, or stand alone early season. Time to invest in some more colors/patterns.
I own 2 of these and find myself in one of them on a weekly basis. I have worn this over my Wick short sleeve for some training runs, and this combo has kept me warm down into the 30s. It's a great base layer too - super soft and no chaffing. It's so warm I'm not sure I would wear it for any activity if it was over 60, even as a base layer. I have worn the wick short sleeve, this, and the soft shell for some whitetail hunting last year and was perfectly comfortable in pre-dawn, below freezing temps. Thumb holes are an added bonus that I didn't think I would like.
I wear the Kiln for hunting, skiing, hiking and daily use. It breathes and regulates my body temperature incredibly well, whether I'm active or for casual daily wear. It is also great/warm alone on cool days or as a layer under a shell for rain or cold wind. Highly recommend.
