Women's Cascade Stormlight Jacket
My wife needed an all purpose rain jacket and this fits the bill perfectly! From work to camping and this fall hunting. This is the perfect all around light coat.
Spent a lot of time toiling over hunting brands with a women's line that was good quality for the price. Landed on FirstLite after getting soaked and being uncomfortable time and time again in Southeast Alaska weather. The jacket is lighter and thinner/felt less durable than I was expecting, but rain rolls right off and it seals you from the wind. Packs up small so perfect for throwing in a bag as a backup on any adventure.
The make is definitely female specific and fit my stalkier body better that I thought it would. I sized up to a large for this reason, but don’t think I would have needed to; lots of room for layers. Sleeves can Velcro tight to wrists, and the back of the jacket is longer to not ride up under a heavy pack belt, and covers your butt if you’re sitting and glassing on any moist surface. The Turrett hood is amazing for full range of view and ability to continue to hear your surroundings. Fusion pattern is also representative to the website photos and blends well. It’s been through some heavy bear hunting and ski touring with no wear yet. Impressed. Would feel better if material was a tad thicker for durability, and of course pit vents.
Good quality rain jacket, I do wish the women's fit was more boxy and not so feminized but that is my personal preference.
Super light weight. Room for layering. Packs small.
Great little jacket! A little thicker than a shell but not too cumbersome. I bought this for my wife to use this mainly as a waterfowl jacket when it’s raining or to help with wind when we go upland hunting.
I absolutely love my jacket. It is lightweight, quiet and super cozy. In south Mississippi it doesn’t get very cold so the jacket is perfect for milder cold days. I ordered large and worked out perfect for hunt days and casual, especially when layering underneath. Highly recommended!!! Cascade Stormlight jacket definitely a keeper!
I would definitely purchase this jacket if it had pit vents. That's a must for me in a rain jacket. No ventilation makes for quick sweat under the jacket and with no place for that moisture to escape, your underclothes get wet and you could potentially get a chill. Please add pit vents for the next run of these jackets!
Great fit that compliments and functions well with a woman's body in mind. The perfect packable shell I was looking to add to my hunting gear lineup.
