Wore these pants for 9 days on our first trip out west to Utah. We were in a lot of thick sage brush and couldn't be happier for how these pants performed. We were there for the opening weekend and temps where in the high 80's and got down to the mid 50's. The fit was terrific. I am 5'7 and wear 34x32 and the fit is right right. These pants offer a lot of breathability and dry extremely quick! The one aspect that I was impressed with the most though is the durability. I couldn't believe how awesome these pants held up walking through all the sage brush. These pants will be great for early season hunting and during the spring! I highly recommend!!
These are the noisiest pair of pants I own, hunting or otherwise. They'll be fine for the airport tomorrow, traveling to camp, but they're unusable for an archery hunt. Should've bought the corrugated guide pant.
Made the mistake and tried this after they were revamped. They still run small compared to other First Lite pants. The quality appears low as the gusset is coming apart after only a month. Will only go with the corrugates for lighter weight pants.
I'm tall and fairly thin, and usually look for pants with a 30" waist. My first pair was a 30x30, which fit snugly around the hips but the legs were just too short. I exchanged for a 32x32, and the fit is perfect. I'll still wear a belt but the elastic retains a good fit around the waist, and the length is perfect.
These pants are awesome. I use them for elk bow in Oregon along side the removable long Johns and from cold mornings to hot days hiking I’m super comfortable. 👍🏻
These pants are an awesome early season option - very lightweight and breathable, and pretty durable so far. Took them out for an early season cow elk hunt this past weekend and they performed excellently in ~90 degree weather!
I normally wear a 33/30 but ordered the 32/32 since that was the closest option available. Ended up having the pants hemmed since they were about 6 inches too long. The pants are fantastic in the field, lightweight, dry quickly, and quiet. My only wish is that they were tapered similar to the Obsidian pant. The portion under the knee is a bit roomier than I would like especially when looking to pair a gaiter over them.
Wore this on 90* day and it was like wearing shorts. Very comfortable while keep the legs ventilated.
I got these as hiking and rock climbing pants. They're fantastic. Plenty of stretch on a wall and in steep terrain. They're extremely durable but thin, so it's best to avoid thorn bushes unless you like picking them out of your thighs. The only downside is that if it's brisk when you start out, you'll definitely know it until you get moving.
Last weekend I put my new Guide Lite pants to work on my first hunt of the year, a black bear hunt in South Central Washington. The temperature got to 90 degrees in the afternoon but the pants were comfortable, cool, quiet and really durable. After a successful hunt I had a steep pack out, both up and downhill. I took a few hard spills on the way down in some rough areas and even had to do scoot down hill on my butt across some sharp rocks. When I got home I checked the pants for expected tears or abrasions. Nothing, not even the slightest abrasion. These pants held up great and were the least of my gear concerns. I generally wear a 36x32 pant and ordered these pants in the same size, however they were a bit tight. So, I returned/exchanged for the 38x33(easy return policy) and they fit great. My only recommendation would be to have a 2nd back pocket as I prefer to carry my wallet on my left hip. Great pants!
