I have had frostbite before, so my toes get painfully cold when hunting even in cooler weather. And to complicate it, my feet sweat and I walk a long way to get into my stand. So just a bad combo. But this year was a game changer with these socks. No, seriously. These socks kept my feet dry and warm. I was able to hunt for a whole day with them and not need my boot warmers at all. I WILL be buying more of these!
The cold weather OTC socks mate well with the calf length First Lite under ware and fit well with my foot ware and and insole requirements..
As someone who always gets cold feet, I was very happy with this sock combined with a good pair of boots. Heavy enough to keep you warm while stationary, light enough/breathable enough to not sweat while walking a good distance.
I purchased the Zero Cold as well as the Triad OTC sock in the same size. The Triad fit well but the Zero Cold seemed to be slightly larger. It hasn't caused any issues though. I wore the Zero Cold in some muck boots in single digit weather and it kept my feet warm. It would slip down below my calf but all my OTC socks have done that unless I'm wearing boots. I also wore them in my ski boots and had zero issues. So far they have done what I needed them to do.
Purchased these to replace an off-brand pair of merino wool socks. Night and day difference. With the old socks my feet would get cold when temps were around 30F especially after long walks to the stand. These socks wicked the moisture away and kept my feet warm at temps lower than 30F and we’re still comfortable up to 50F.
I have not had time to really put these through a lot of use but my initial use says they will be really nice. I’m very picky about socks and right off the bat these feel comfortable, the stitching in the toe is does not feel like it will rub, the fir was spot on. I’ll update the review after some hard use.
True to size, best socks for 30 degree and below weather I own
