I am really close to being a true size M according to the sizing chart on this website. In fact, the circumference of my hand is actually closer to size S and than L, but the length is a slam-dunk size M, I read one of the reviews that the gloves ran very small so I decided to take a risk and go with size L. Thank you, whoever wrote that. The gloves arrived and the size L was a PERFECT fit with no glove liners on. I wouldn't want them a fraction smaller in any way. If you're usually between M and L in gloves, do yourself a favor and go with the L.
Now for the actual gloves:
What a great piece of equipment. I haven't used it hunting yet, but I took them to work and stood outside in -5° C (23° fahrenheit) for 4 hours without moving much. I layered up as usual but my hands are usually the first to go cold if I'm not moving. My hands were warm the whole time. The feel and overall quality of the gloves is GREAT. The shell, outer palm and inner glove just ooze quality. The wrist bands are a great touch and they do come in handy. I can't speak for the durability but I think these will stand the test of time if treated properly. That's why I'm giving them five stars even though they run a whole size small.
I tried pulling the trigger on my shotgun (Franchi Affinity) using snap caps and it wasn't too bad. Pulling the trigger took a little more effort than normally but it worked out fine. Pushing the safety button and then sliding the finger in was very doable. I have relatively small fingers so your experience may vary. With gloves this thick, this minor inconvenience is totally acceptable in my eyes and I plan on using these for waterfowl hunting in freezing weather.
