Went to upsate NY early season, this was a great addition to all my other baselayers. I like the fit and feel and was great around camp as well. Very warm for those cool evenings and morning sits. While on this trip the temps ranged from 38-75 degrees. I pair this with either the Kiln or Klamouth hoody and its great
Was disappointed at first because I thought it was more a softshell vest. Straight out of the box looks and feels great. Athletic cut love the extra insulation in the chest. Using it for everything , over my fuse leaving th house and spreading the decoys or on top of my Klamath in the layout blind. Can't wait to use it for deer and moose .
This will work great as an mid/outer layer in early season. I got to pair with the corrugate jacket and it fits perfectly underneath. Material feels durable and also quiet.
Just purchased this vest and I absolutely love it. It fits great, and is very warm. Cant wait to test it out!!
I have a 43 inch chest and ordered this in a large. It works great as a 3rd or 4th layer for my gear and fits great. For reference my first 3 layers are medium in size; fuse crew, kiln hoody, And the kryptek dalibor soft shell.
Wore this vest alot on my two hunting trips we do in northern Alberta. And I probably don't have to tell my hunting brothers and sisters to the south how extreme the weather conditions can be up here in the great white north. I wore the vest as a mid layer, and you could really feel it holding in the warmth. Very comfortable and flexible, I would highly recommend this vest to any outdoor enthusiast.
This is the best vest I’ve ever had! Very versatile for me in Oklahoma! Great for when the weather is a bit chilly in the mornings just as a outer with a light shirt and layers perfect for when the weather starts getting colder! Breaks the wind very well also! If this isn’t on me it will be in my pack just Incase!
The Kiln hoody offers a great range of temperatures it works well in on its own. Sometimes I've found its just plain comfortable to layer the sawtooth vest over top. If that means the difference between a miserable late season morning hunting turkeys or an enjoyable one communicating with birds, I'm packing this vest every time. It breathes enough that mild temperatures don't make it stuffy but it also acts as a decent windbreak to keep the heat it holds from being ripped away when the wind kicks up. The side and chest pockets offer enough storage that it's worth bringing along just for the extra carrying space if nothing else. I don't often leave the house without it, from early to late turkey season it's hard to justify not having it on.
I bought this as an early season whitetail vest. I wear my 150 or 250 baselayer with this over. I stay warm in those early michigan bow hunting mornings, fits great, feels great. I even wear it drinking beers in the garage, awesome addition if youre not much of a jacket guy.
I am beyond pleased with this vest. First lite spares no expense when making this. I’m 6’ tall and tipping the scales at a bulky 210lbs and the size large fits perfectly. The pockets are in a great position for when I’m taking my hunting breaks (or as many of you call them “naps) I strongly recommend adding this to your early bear season. I know here in British Columbia I won’t be leaving home without it
