Men's Catalyst Soft Shell Pant

2 Layer Silent Softshell

$240.00 USD

Color/PatternFirst Lite Cipher

From the treestand to the tundra, the Men's Catalyst Soft Shell Pant changes the paradigm of technical hunting softshell pants. Silent, breathable, insulating, and engineered to stretch and move with you, the revolutionary, 2-layer construction creates a pant that is warm and breathable while also being lightweight and completely silent.

Interior 37.5 fleece lining works to optimize your body temperature while the brushed, durable exterior is ultra-silent while fending off moisture through our advanced DWR.

The result is an ultra-versatile pant that performs as well in the stand as it does in the backcountry. Whether you are looking for silent warmth sitting for whitetails during the rut or hoofing it through knee-deep snow on the trail of late season elk, the Catalyst softshell system will help you get it done.

The Catalyst is also available in a Men's Jacket.

Product Size: M
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 165
Fit Comments: I have larger legs and a smaller waist. That being said I never felt like they were too tight on the legs or loose in the waist. The suspenders were very comfortable and helpful with that as well.

Perfect late season/ cold weather pants

Just wore these for 10 days straight for an elk hunt in northern Idaho and wow. I used them for breaking brush with no issues to sitting in the morning not freezing like I was last year. I feel like I pushed them pretty hard and I have zero tears or damage so the material held up well. The pockets and zippers are perfectly set up and hey even the blood washed out of them a week later. The Cypher print works so damn well I had to yell at a cow that nearly walked over me in open brush. I could sit here all day and write great things about them, but if you want a light insulated pant that goes further than you will, these are worth it.

First Impressions are Positive

I havent' worn these in the field yet, but I'll say my initial impression is good. The fit is a bit smaller than the Corrugate Guide Pants, but not enough to send back for a new size. I'd call it a half-size different. The quality seems to be on par with everything else I have purchased from First Lite, which is fantastic. I look forward to getting these in the field over the next couple weeks and seeing how they perform. I'll update my review then!

Perfect fit, haven’t taken them out yet but fit and finish so far couldn’t be better.

Southern IL perfection

I replaced my scentblocker alpha suit with the Catalyst this year and couldn’t be happier! I’m currently sitting in the stand writing this so what better time to do a review. It’s 41 with a 8 mph on Oct 19th, I have a base, mid and insulating weight merino wool layers on and I’m comfortable. It’s cool feeling out but I’m not cold and the wind has not penetrated the outer catalyst jacket and pants. Im 6’5” 220 lbs and originally went with an XL but when I put all my layers on it was snug fitting which is not what I want for now hunting. XXL it’s perfect when layered up and wearing it without the layers the waist draw strings on the jacket close up the bottom nicely.

Product Size: L

Fit Comments: Length is perfect, waist is loose.

Awesome pants

These are my new favorite pants for...well...just about anything. The most comfortable pants I've ever owned, hands down. Been using them mostly out in the field at work, and for long hikes both on and off trail. But the fact is, these are also great for sitting on the couch watching football.

The first thing I noticed is just how silent they are when walking, which is something I'd never really thought of in the past during my hikes. They are decently water resistant, though water will eventually soak in. They are warm but on my first outing in 65 degree weather on a steep hike, they weren't hot at all.

Fit: Here's the deets...I'm 6'3", 185lbs. Purchased a size L. The length is perfect. The waist is loose (I'm a 33 waist and these fit like a 36). Based on reviews, I expected this might be the case, but the size M would likely be too short. I like these well enough that i'll probably take them to tailor and have them taken in.
