Recently purchased for western big game hunting. Haven't been able to use it in the field yet, of course, but I've worn it at the archery range and tried it on over my hunting base layers. The material is absolutely unbelievable. It's warmer than I thought when I felt how light and thin it is, but it is still thin and light so it'll serve as a mid-layer for mid and late season hunting. It's tight enough not to get in the way of my bow, but not too tight. Can't wait to really put it to the test.
I got this as a daily garment (in green). It fits true to size and looks great. It's almost too nice to hunt in, but I love wearing it around town. Only complaint is it sticks to your tshirt when putting it on and it take some fidgeting to get it to set properly. Great base layer
This hoody really is awesome for so many different applications. I love it as a second layer in the whitetail woods and an outer layer in the turkey woods. It is warm for the weight and breathes pretty well. I love the warmth of the hood zipped up all the way. This paired with a good base layer and the catalyst jacket is such a solid system for a wide range or conditions.
I have a 46" chest with an athletic build and the XL fit perfectly. Arms and body are long enough and it's fitted without being snug. The material is toasty warm and will serve it's purpose well in cold weather. I haven't had to bushwack with it yet, but it also seems durable enough to take some abuse without suffering from any undue damage.
My one issue is the hood has an odd fit. The actual portion that fits over your head is nice, but the collar/face mask portion is far too snug. I can't see ever zipping it up fully unless hunkered down in incredibly cold weather with little movement. It'd be nice if it were designed so the collar could be zipped all the way up without use of the hood, but once again it's a little too small to do that comfortably without the collar digging into my neck. Still, 4 stars because it's a great insulation piece other than that issue.
Hasn’t been through the ringer yet but will be over the winter. First impressions were great love the fit. Price was more than reasonable when compared to other brands I have used.
