Men's Furnace Quarter Zip

EXP 350 Merino-X

$155.00 USD

Color/PatternFirst Lite Fusion

Whether you pulled a late-season elk hunt or are down to the closing bell in the treestand, First Lite's Furnace Quarter Zip is the perfect tool to help you punch that tag in cold weather. Using our Merino-X 350g EXP weight fabric, the Furnace Quarter Zip provides lofted insulation and protection from the coldest temperatures. Featuring a high collar and quarter zip for protection from the elements, and flatlock seams throughout its newly articulated fit, the Furnace Quarter Zip is the ideal layering piece over our other lightweight, next-to-skin styles.

Our Furnace EXP 350 Merino-X fabric incorporates a brushed (or fleeced) backside to our high loft, interlock knits to provide super-charged insulation without added weight. Adding this to the silent, odor-free benefits of merino wool, the Furnace merino is the hands-down choice for cold weather hunts.

The Furnace EXP 350 Merino-X is also available in a Henley and a Long John.

Kiln Crew, Kiln Zip Offs, Furnace Zip, Furnace Bottoms, Sanctuary Bibs and Jacket, and Klamath Zip (as a wind break or outer layer in mild conditions). Love it all. By far and wide the BEST gear I have ever worn.
Warm, dry, and the base layers are perfect in every way, I use the Kiln top / bootom under brush pants for upland hunting a few times a week as well.
No problem during cold-as-hell tree stand and ground sits up here in Canada. You won't regret it.

Thick and soft

Finally got the furnace quarter zip after wanting it for a few years. Is so nice and thick. I'm 6'2", 205 and often tops are short in length at the waist and sleeve. For not having a "tall" option, this fits great. I have some other merino clothing but none of it is this thick and warm. Finally a great base layer for my late season activities in MN!

Wow

I bought this for an elk trip in 2021. I decided to try it out at home during deer season and I can’t believe how warm it is for being not bulky. It can take the place of two layers and is extremely comfortable . I don’t normally write reviews but this is worth every penny and would be perfect for hunting out west, using in cold weather while sitting in a tree stand , or duck hunting. I can’t believe how something so lightweight can be so warm. Worth every penny and is my favorite hunting garnet I own.

Comfortable Warmth

I got the Furnace tops and bottoms for deer hunting here in NY and PA, Wore them both as a base layer and over Fuse and Under Armor layers. Very comfortable and warm. We didn't have a very cold deer season. True test was the 40" snow storm we just had, Spent 5 hours in 20 degree weather on a open station tractor plowing out. Wore the Furnace bottoms under soft shell pants and Carhartt bibs, Wore the top over Under Armor and topped off with a fleece vest and Carhartt jacket, Warmest I have ever been plowing, and kept dry when I has to shovel for a few mminutes.

My upgrade from the old exp 350 from years past

Awesome! 1st try Southern Indiana hunt. 31 degree start. Medium jacket and furnace. 58 degrees at noon an only wearing the furnace. Felt great. 2xl fit me good with a 54in chest at 6ft 315lbs. It has a very comfortable stretch. Can not say enough! Game changer like my old stuff when I first got it. Can not wait until I can afford some of the outer wear. Glad I caught the gravey boat sell.

Love It

This will be perfect for those bitterly cold days while sitting or still hunting in -10 Celsius or less. Fits nicely over my fuse long johns also if necessary.

Very warm mid layer

I got the Furnace top and bottom to add onto the Fuse base layer on those colder sits later in the season. So far, it has lived up to the hype, and I am REALLY liking the quarter zip top. Very comfortable, virtually stops the wind, and allows me to sit on watch that much longer. I do wish I had ordered a size up for layering over the Fuse, as I'm right on the cusp between just right and it being too tight. Definitely a great item to have for those late season hunts!

'm a new hunter and quickly realized the gear I had purchased just wouldnt work, I was either too cold or too bulky. So after learning about First Lite on the MeatEater podcast I decided to give it a shot. I purchased the Fuse 1/4 zip, the Kiln hoodie and the Furnace 1/4 zip and I could not be Happier! The Furnace fits perfect and is extremely comfortable. It is loose enough to be comfortable and not constantly tugging on it but tight enough that I can easily layer the other products without becoming too bulky and hindering my ability to draw back my bow. I use the Furnace a mid or outerlayer and easily add or remove the other layers as the weather changes as they are easily packed into a backpack. I would highly recommend this layering system to any hunter new or old. My hunting days are extended now as I dont need to cut them short when it gets too cold

Nice warm mid layer

I bought the Furnace as my mid layer for bow hunting whitetail deer. I wore the Kiln as my base layer and the Uncompahgre 2.0 as my outer layer. I was able to stay in my stand from 25 deg cold mornings all the way through the warm afternoons. The Furnace is just that, a furnace! It kept me warm but I was also very surprised how it breathed when the day warmed up. I never over heated even when it reached 60 deg in the afternoon on a couple of days. Highly recommend FL merino wool!
