Bought these pants for rifle season in PA, tested them for a few days doing everything from hiking miles up and down mountains to sitting on the ground for a few hours. Temps were low to mid 30's just about every day, and I was shocked at how these pants performed. With just a light merino under layer and these pants I stayed warm and dry the entire time, even through a few hours of rain the one afternoon. The pants kept the wind out, dried very fast after the rain, and breathed enough to wick away the sweat while I was hiking. I even spent about 3 hours sitting on nothing but ice covered leaves and was absolutely blown away by the fact that I never felt wet or cold, simply amazing. Simply put these will now be my go to pants for everything except long sits in a tree stand where my solitude bibs have proven unbeatable.
To anyone wondering how they hold up in brush/thickets, they did a great job for me in everything except for multifora rose. The nasty rose bushes definitely pulled a few strands of material from the pants and left some blood on my legs, but for everything else I encountered they seemed to brush right off without me getting stuck or the pants catching up. So unless you're going into something where you know you should be wearing true brush pants these hold up just fine and I expect mine to last a good while.
For size, I am a 34" waist and the Large size was definitely a little loose on me - I would recommend mediums for somebody of my build.
