I live in Alberta, Canada and winters are long and harsh; with that being said, this coat is fantastic. I am very comfortable wearing this coat in -15 C conditions without a base layer. It blocks the wind out better than any coat I’ve tried so far. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good winter, hunting jacket.
I get super cold during mid to late season in the stand hunting whitetails. i paired this with the bibs and this combo is lights out for cold gear. Very happy with this purchase. I sat for 4 hours in 15 degree temperature without getting cold. Will be buying more first lite
I have done over 30 sits this season in northern Michigan’s blistering cold with it averaging 25 degrees out. The jacket and bib sanctuary set followed by the right layering you can easily sit out for four hours without blinking in the high teens to low 20’s.
Just received the Sanctuary jacket and bibs in time for late season rifle/muzzle loader in Upstate NY. First morning out was a low of 6 degrees. With just a long sleeve thermal and sweat pants I was warm and comfortable the entire sit. The fit on the jacket and bibs is perfect. Plenty of room for extra layers if needed. I have long arms and legs and the length of the mediums fit me perfect. The gear is not baggy or bulky feeling at all. The hood is great and leaves plenty of room for your peripheral vision. I can't think of any negatives to say about the gear. Wish I had this gear years ago!
The Sanctuary Jacket is warm and fits great. However, after having the jacket one year, the gusset around the right hand pocket began to delaminate. I called FIRSTLITE and emailed. They told me I needed to contact the dealer I bought the garment from not the manufacturer. I have over $2500 worth of FIRSTLITE gear. I explained that to the company representative. I stated that I did not know what dealer I bought the garment from as most of the purchases were online. They said they couldn’t help me. While I love the product, FIRSTLITE does not stand behind their gear. Given the cost of their gear, I think the company should stand behind their clothing.
The coat is still in great condition, but I don’t wear it due to the pocket. As result, I have not purchased from FIRSTLITE since. I told the same thing to a buddy recently. He purchased from a different company.
