Great Light, waterproof pant 12/17/2018

Kept in the pack for those pop up showers. Worked mint. I wouldn't pound brush with them, but they are light, and keep the wet out. As rain gear comes, it's on the quiet side of everything else I have worn.

Excellent Product! 11/22/2018

Water was no issue when wearing these pants. I climbed trees, beat down willows, and generally crushed the Alaskan bush with these on. They r much quieter than any of my other layered gore-tex systems when it's cold. Also being able to unzip them is huge when hiking.

How it fits
A little long but I have a 30" inseam and a long torso. Honestly I was surprised at how well they fit with no length specific sizing.

2 Years of Fail Proof Performance 11/18/2018

South Central Alaska hunting, fishing, hiking, and Snowboarding. Blizzards in Colorado wilderness to incessant rain and wind on the north slope of the Brooks Range, this product is a solid performer. Its water proof yet breathable enough to hike in steep elevation. I’ve used high-end outdoor brand products, big name hunting clothing, tried and true commercial fishing gear, and the latest military products and this is my go to foul weather pant. I never leave home without them.

How it fits
Perfect. My only concern is the ankles are a little tight for high top mountain boots when used in conjunction with the Uncompaghre Pant.

This is great! 10/22/2018

These pants are amazing. They keep you dry in the rain, or even walking through wet grass. They even kept the wind and mosquitoes off of me. They have a very small and light footprint when packing in your bag. My ONLY complaint is they are a little noisy, but I don't think that can be avoided with the type of material being used. The zippers are great to take them off and put them on easily in the field. I love the integrated belt. I would like to see a little more pockets in future designs.

Overall great pair of pants, have been pushing them on everyone that I know to get a pair.

How it fits
The fit was great in addition to the layering system. No issues at all.

Body just doesn't fit to the pants. 10/16/2018

Excited to purchase new rain gear and my first First Lite products, also purchased the Stormlight jacket to match. Using primarily to hunt blacktail in SE Alaska. For the price point exactly the type of rain pants I was looking for. My only concern/ issue is the sizing, it seems I am right in between a size M and L. I wear between a 34-36 pant but am a 30 inseam. As a result the pants are too long and bunch up a considerable amount. Main concern about the longevity of the product is wear from the material rubbing on itself. Would be great in the future to offer size L with a M inseam. Some companies offer this with waders in regards to booty size. Remained dry so far but wish I had went with the SEAK pants.

Good Rain Pant 9/20/2018

Worked very well in swampy, tall wet grass of the Alaska moose country. Size 32 waist and I felt they were a bit large but if I had suspenders would have been fine. They were a bit noisy but I think that’s just coz they were a little to large on me.

Great pants! 9/10/2018

I just got back from a 6 day archer Elk hunt in CO. Several times I had to quickly throw these on due to the quick changing weather in the mountains - easy to get on over boots!!! These worked out perfect!!

works well 8/30/2018

I've run these rain pants the past few years and they have worked well so far. Just got back from a costal Alaska hunt and put them to more of a test. They kept me pretty dry and held up pretty good but I feel they were at their limits. These pants are a little on the heavy side weight wise and I feel the could breathe a little better. I like the zippers and pocket placement on these but wish the had loops to run your own belt. The integrated belt could use more of an adjustment range. Overall the performed well and did their job.

Good but.. 8/29/2018

These pants are very good but I would like to see a couple changes to make them even better. I like the zipper and pocket layout of these pants. While fairly tough, for their weight they could be tougher. The new Seak pants are much tougher and don't weigh much more. I wore these in Alaska and they kept me dry, however I feel like they were right at the edge of what they could handle. I would also like to see a different belt setup. Either have loops to run your own, or make the included belt have more adjustability.

Must have for high mountain hunts or when the weather forecast looks wet. 8/29/2018

Great rain pant and a must have piece of gear. Got these last year after getting absolutely soaked on a multi day deer hunt in the Wyoming high country. Full length zippers on either side make it quick and easy to them on without taking off your boots. Full zips are also great for ventilation when on the move. Sometimes I just wear these with the merino-X bottoms underneath with no mid layer. These pants will keep you dry rain or snow and are great post storm when walking through tall wet grass or brush.

Good stuff 8/29/2018

Rain gear is normally the most important thing in my pack (W. Oregon), so it took me a long time to decide on this. Very happy with other First Lite gear, so I decided to stick with them - and I'm still happy. These pack down nicely and keep me dry in the Oregon rainforest. Would be even better if they were quieter, but you can say that about all rain gear.

Lightweight-heavy preformance 8/29/2018

You can easily distinguish between quality and garbage pretty quickly if you have been around gear for a while. Raingear is one of those pieces of kit I've often left in the truck or house cause it simply does not work. Firstlite has fixed that issue in these pants. They are lightweight that I don't mind packing them around, but they are plenty durable. I use these pants to keep weather out and heat in. They work awesome as a quick outer layer to throw on when glassing if you don't want to put on long, thick, underwear thermals. I love them and will recommend them to anybody I come across.

water PROOF 8/28/2018

Not water resistant, water PROOF, because there is a big difference.

Love these pants, they are light, packable, durable, and most importantly.. dry.

The zippers go all the way up to make it easy to throw over your corrugates. They are durable; walking through tall, wet grass is not an issue any more.

These pants will keep you dry.

Great rainpant 8/23/2018

I bought these for an early elk hunt last year. It was too dry and never needed them. Since then I’ve usded them canoeing, during spring turkey season and even on a firearms range. They are a great balance between weight and durability. They are fairly quiet for a rainpant and shed water well.

Excellent Fit 8/9/2018

Received my order in amazing time (less than than 48hrs). The quality and fit are absolutely terrific. I love that the knees and butt areas have a bit of reinforced material and I love the full length zippers. Great job First Lite! Can't wait to give this piece a try this fall while chasing elk and mule deer around Idaho...

Two opportunities to improve this product to a 5 star rating would be to include a small stuff sack for the pants and to include a couple of pockets into the design. Neither are deal-breakers but would make the product just that much better...

How it fits
I'm pretty tall guy at 6'4" and pretty slender with 34" waist. I was a little apprehensive as to whether the length of the large would be long enough. I was pleasantly surprised that the pant leg goes nicely down to my heel. The waist is about perfect and can be easily adjusted for tightness with the built in belt.

Great pants that do the job, and I love how easy they are to put on and take off with the zippers on each side. They're nice and light as well. The only addition I wish it had is a pocket on the outside.

Durable 4/19/2018

Pants turned out to be very durable. Kept my dry this year while shed hunting. I do like the fact that the pants zip all the way up and you don't have to wrestle getting your pants over your boots. It is a snug fit around your ankle and will not ride up and keeps the snow out if not using gaiters.

One bad ass pair of pants 4/16/2018

So the only thing I hate about these is I waited so long to try first lite out. These pants are bad ass!!
I’ve had them over a year and have been in some nasty weather and I’ve been dry as a bone. The full zippers are awesome it makes it really easy to through on in a hurry if you need to. The Pants are actually a lot quieter than I thought now would I use them for spot and stock on a calm day no but in a down poor and still be dry after uh ya. Don’t wait like I did to try these guys out you’ll be impressed

really great pant 3/30/2018

ran these pants in some really tough ground in GA. Rained a couple days otherwise we were in soppy clouds. I was very surprised with the toughness of these pants. i may have had enough of side hilling and jumped up top to find thick thorns pushed hard though them. It was a 5 day hunt so this happened many times. I did a shower test when i got home (no complaints in the field) and they came out flawless.

Best rain pant on the market 2/7/2018

They’re grrrreeaaattt 1/23/2018

Honestly, I’m a rain pack kind of guy and these are awesome. They’re tough, they keep me dry all day long, of they’ve been thoroughly soaked they dry out fast, and they block the wind great. There are some things that could be better, but they haven’t failed me yet so I can’t complaint too much.

Design Issues 1/21/2018

The roominess and overall fit is athletic and offers very good freedom of movement.. Waist size of 31" and the small size was just fine. I did not care for the super tight leg bottoms or the thick fabric in the seat. One side of the seat fabric was thicker and stiffer than the other. Returned for a no hassle refund.

Stormtight pants 1/9/2018

these pants are a great light weight outer layer that can be buried in your pack when the weather looks uncertain. my experience with them has been snow and rain, and they kept me dry and are quiet for being a shell type material. Wish I bought them in a camo pattern as I feel like a brown blob in the woods.

Terrific Rain Gear!! 12/21/2017

I borrowed a set from my buddy and after wearing them for a full day I knew these had to be added to my kit. I got my pair in time for our late season blacktail hunt and wore them over my Kanab's for 5 days. They are by far the most comfortable rain pant I've used and most importantly they kept me dry!
Sizing reference: I'm 6'2, 195. 34 waist and 34 length in Levi's. I went with the XL's and they are perfect, just a touch roomy but fit well over my Kanab's or Corrugates. The waist belt isn't super snug but the leg length is perfect. I run the suspenders on these.
Favorite feature: full length zippers on the legs! Easy on and off in the field without taking off your boots.

Waterproof and you'll forget they're on! 11/23/2017

These pants breathe great, are waterproof, and are comfortable and flexible enough that you forget you're wearing rain pants. I wish you could get these in the same material as the SEAK jacket, which is substantially tougher. I presume these are the same material as the vapor jacket which is thin enough that it makes you think twice when you need to bust some brush, sit on rough ground, or happen to fall - which will happen from time to time. That being said, I've had no issues thus far.

Nickname: NCmirage257
Highly Recommended for Western Hunting 11/20/2017

I picked these up along with the SEAK Stormtight Jacket. Both have become a permanent part of my hunting kit and I won't leave home without them. They've kept me dry and warm in some intense weather conditions throughout BC and they've allowed me to extend my hunts, which eventually lead to success. I wouldn't mind a tighter fit (I ordered a small), but other than that, they're excellent and would highly recommend them.

Impressed 10/5/2017

I have only used these pants on two hunting trips so far. One was in the snow and one in the rain. I enjoy the packability of these pants. Paired with the stormlight top, they are about as small as you can get rain gear. Like the stormlight, they are just a shell, so no real thermal qualities other than they cut the wind. I like the double zipper feature and the ability to put these pants on without taking your boots off. In regards to waterproof I would say they will keep you dry for a short amount of time. I recently had a hunt in the rain that only lasted about 4 hours and these pants did leak in the pressure point areas. For a packable rain pant I love these pants. If I was to be out in the rain all day I would go to a different piece of equipment.

Nickname: Brandon
Not waterproof 9/23/2017

Im on my 2nd pair of these pants and I love them except they do not keep me dry in the rain. The fit is great, the durability is ok. They keep you dry during a passing shower but when you are walking through tall wet grass they do not. I would not rely on these as my only waterproof pants on a big hunt. Great around camp and light rain.

Nickname: AK Ed
WATERPROOF!! 9/19/2017

Living in Idaho I don't have to spend a lot of time in rain gear, but the last two days I've been out have been steady rain/snow. I put the rain pants on before I left the truck and didn't take them off until I got home both days and I stayed 100% dry. The two-way full length zippers are great. Unzip the top down to just above brush height to improve ventilation on the big ups and zip them shut for glassing and serious rain events. Also with the tops zipped down just a bit you can still access your pockets for wind checker, calls, chew and all the other important things!! Great addition that will always be in my pack from now on!!

Great pants 8/3/2017

Was surprised at the amount of features these pants have once I got my hands on them. A ton of thought went into the design of these and it shows. For reference I"m 6'0 180lbs. I ordered the M and they fit over my M Kanab 2.0's perfectly but that's about all they'll go over. I don't think they would fit over any of my normal pants very well, so I would order up 1 size if you plan to layer over much more than a pair of Kanabs or Guide pants.

Nickname: Lincoln
A lot of thought went into these. 3/17/2017

These rain pants scream functional- No frills, it just works. They fit a little baggier than I'd prefer although I understand why they did that. The full length zippers make these pants easy to put on and take off without removing boots. Mine did tear a bit when a thorn snagged them, so I wouldn't say bulletproof, but pretty close to perfect rain pants.

You'll forget you're even wearing them 12/18/2016

The Boundary Stormtight pant is a basic lightweight rain pant. They are very easy to put on and take off. true to size.. order the same size as your hunting pants. I used them mostly in the snow so I unzipped them a few inches from the waist down to help with air circulation. This also allows you to access your pant pockets underneath. When the pants are fully zipped up they are totally waterproof. They seem to be very durable and are the best rain pants Ive ever owned. They don't feel bulky and you will forget that you're even wearing them after a few minutes of hiking.

Rain Pant Perfection! 12/15/2016

I took advantage of the pouring rain this past weekend, and put these pants to the test. My review is based off my 10 mile round-trip hog hunt in the mountainous grasslands. I immediately noticed three features - breathability, temperature-regulating ability, and quietness. Rather than using these as a shell, I used them as my primary pant. The full-length leg zipper on each pant leg is what really impressed me. During the five mile hike up the mountain, I zipped down 10" from the top of the pant leg, which prevented sweat that I would have otherwise experienced with my other pants. The 37.5 Cocona technology creates impressive breathability performance. During the entire hunt, my body did not overheat or become cold. The temperature functionality of the 37.5 technology keeps the microclimate to the skin perfectly regulated while hiking continuously or glassing for hours. Lastly, I have been impressed that these pants keep very quiet during hunts, as opposed to other rain pants in the market that are very noisy.

Nickname: Roehl @roskee
Waterproof. 11/16/2016

They are definitely waterproof. If you are in a dry spot for a moment you can unzip the sides and and take off your boots easily and access your pockets underneath. Mine have ripped in the butt area I have not contacted firstlite yet but will after this review. I have only worn them on 3 alpine hunts and that kind of disappointed me for the money you are spending on pants for them to rip like that when mainly all I did was sit in grass and glass.

Storm Protection, Breathability and Durability 11/15/2016

I've never lived in my rain gear like I did this season. On a 10-day hunt in British Columbia, I wore these rain pants every single day. Even when it wasn't raining, we were moving through soaking wet willows and spruce thickets. The Boundary Stormtight Pants kept me dry and comfortable. When backpacking through steep country and gaining serious elevation, they breathed incredibly well. But the best surprise may have been their durability, particularly for how little they weigh. The terrain and conditions would have beat most rain pants to death. The Stormtight Pants look no worse for the wear.

Nickname: RyanM
Durable rain pants 9/2/2016

I tested out the boundary stormtight pant on a recent sheep hunt and found the waterproofing and breathability was great we got stuck out in a couple rainstorms with no issues. I wore the pants for a few stalks in rough sheep country with no rips or tears, there was some slight discoloration but nothing you wouldn't expect from crawling around in the rocks. The narrow cuff opening around the ankles I was a little unsure of at first thinking it may be to tight with my boots but ended up really liking the snug fit of the pants around the boots. If they were a half to one inch bigger around the boots I would not complain either. The full length zippers worked well with no water getting through and making for quick work getting them on and off when needed. The overall fit, finish and attention to detail on these pants are among the best in the business from the clever buckle design to the reinforced high wear areas. I would definitely recommend these pants if you looking for some durable and pack able rain pants.

Perfectly dry, totally tough 7/22/2016

I absolutely love these pants! So far, I've used these in a work setting; my job has me hiking around 10 miles a day in brushy, blowdown covered, sometimes rocky, often steep terrain. I beat up work clothes worse than hunting or hiking gear. I've had many moments where I've thought "there's no way I didn't rip these" or "I'm going to wear right through the waterproofing"-- 1 month or so of almost daily use, and the only change is they're mud caked now. The only drops of moisture on me were beads of sweat on my heavy cotton work pants beneath the Boundary outerlayer. The ASAT camo is doing its job, too: I've accidentally busted a herd of elk, as well as *tons* of muleys and whitetail, while working in the Montana forest.
Added bonus: I wear a women's S, and these fit very nicely. They are slightly long, but I have a very short inseam, and slightly baggy, but that's ideal in something I'll be wearing over bulky pants.
Can't wait to use my Boundary outerlayer pants all hunting season, too!

dry inside and out 6/24/2016

bought this rain gear and the original light weight top almost two years ago. used it on a moose hunt in newfoundland last november and it worked better than any rain gear ive ever owned. worth the price all the way. hiked my butt off and with the full merino system i was dry and comfortable the whole time.

Waterproof and Breathable 5/17/2016

I've never had any water leaking issues with these pants and they have been a great asset especially in late fall when the snow and rain varies in the mountains, my guide pants have taken over most of my wet weather needs though since I purchased them. Still an amazing pant which is paired very well with the kanabs

They work better than I could have hoped for 5/3/2016

Versatile, Lightweight, Water Proof, Compress well. The stormtight pants are some of the best rain pants I've found on the market. I can get in and out of them fast and don't have to worry about my boots getting hung up. They dry fast, and the zipper system works well with the Kanab pockets. My waist was a little small for their "medium" fit but I found that using the suspenders when I'm hauling gear or have a lot of stuff in my kanab pants helps from the rain pants from falling.

About the best you can get 4/9/2016

I was on the fence between the FL Boundary, Sitka, and KUIU. I ended up getting the FL boundary for the few reasons. It seemed like the best combination of weight, durability, and performance. It is on par with other high-end rain gear in terms of quality, waterproofing, features, etc. I think there is some room to shed a few ounces in the design, which would make it perfect.

This System is the Real Deal 2/5/2016

I'm a professional outdoor cinematographer. I have filmed archery hunts for every big game species in North America. We travel to the most remote and unforgiving terrain on earth, where the line between survival and death can be very thin, especially in an emergency situation. Our lives depend on the gear we carry and the layers we wear. Our production team didn't begin using First Lite gear by accident, or because a sponsorship required us to. We sought the best gear available and First Lite is exactly that. Having used other high-end outer storm wear systems on the market I can tell you this Boundary Stormtight system is the real deal. Weight and mass is critical for rain gear because it's something you NEVER leave camp without. This system is light weight, packs down tight and somehow outperforms every rain suite I've ever owned. It's breathable and the outer fabric is still soft enough to remain quite during a stalk. It's a no-brainer for us.

Breathability! 6/18/2014

I hate rain gear! So I wasn't' excited about putting these pants on as the rain poured the first morning of my Idaho bear hunt. After my 2 mile walk in the first thing I usually do after throwing up my tarp is to peel the rain pants off and dry my sweat soaked merino bottoms. But I didn't have to with the stormtight pants. They kept the rain out and the sweat to a minimum.
