Our beanie is a single layer of 100% Merino wool with flat locked seams to ensure comfort and a snug fit. The beanie can be worn to complement our Wind River Balaclava or Neck Gaiter, providing added warmth and concealment.

Really like it

Keeps you warm and breathes good to keep you regulated. I even kept in on longer than I needed to test breathability. Did great. Fits great on head and don't slide around like all the other "normal" hats

Great fit!

Best fitting beanie I have tried. Covers whole head and ears. Love it.

Good Beanie

Very warm for as small and light as it is. Something I keep in my pack all hunting season.

Poor sizing and service

I have a 7 1/4 head and ordered a OSFA. It was huge and obviously poorly sized. This is the second item from FL that sizing has been way off. Judging by the reviews FL cant be surprised at this point, yet still selling them.

I called over a year ago and the gal on the phone told me they were aware of the beanies not being deep enough and were fixing it..... Obviously that never happened and for the price I could've gotten two beanies from another company that I know fits perfectly. She basically told her there was nothing she could do even in regards to returning it....? I would've been ok with getting credit for it even bc it's useless to me? Love everything I've ever gotten from them and it's been a lot of stuff to think they would be capable of a return it credit when I asked? I just don't get it? So now it's basically a cloth!?

Solid Beanie

This beanie is plenty warm enough for the mild winters we have in East TN. Combined with a neck gaiter it is everything I need to stay concealed. The fit is great. The only thing I would change is maybe make it a touch deeper.

Great product weird fit
5
The fit of a beanie to me is important, with that said I wanted and needed a quality one. Knowing first hand the quality of firstlites products the merino beanie was the obvious choice. The troubling thing when I went to purchase was that there is no info on the sizing chart. Even below the beanie it gives you the option of going to the chart. I purchased it anyway. Got it, great firstlite quality bad fit. I go turkey hunting in a week, not enough time to return. I'll use it anyway but alittle disappointed. No worries everyone, I'm sure firstlite will fix this.

Love the light weight warmth

Odd beanie, but functional.

It's not your traditional beanie. The fit is slightly loose for me (I wear a size 7 hat), and it doesn't fully cover my ears, which I didn't like while trying it on for the first time at my house. In the field however, I found myself wearing it all the time. It is just snug enough to not move around. It doesn't over heat while I'm hiking, and when it got really cold, it fit perfectly over my Wind River merino balaclava. I'm being picky, but it would get 5 stars from me if it were slightly tighter. I wore it for three months straight, hunting deer and elk in the Colorado Rockies.

I own several colors now. very comfortable, breathes, fits my big head, and looks as good as Callaghans mustache. Would like it available in black though.

Didn't like the fit

This beanie is a very sloppy fit. It is very loose on my head. I can't keep it from moving around on my head. I would like to see a more fitted design.

Feels good

Got mine today from local BassPro. Like the feel of it, fits good and the fusion camo rocks! Thanks guys for great stuff!

Waiting for gen 2

Not happy with this beanie, the fit is unlike any other beanie on the market. Does not fit a normal shaped head.

Like it, don't love it
5
The only thing for me that's keeping this from being perfect is the fact that it doesn't cover my ears, and it can get a little wrinkley at times. When I wear it it's usually underneath a hat which helps a lot. I wore it during an elk hunt here in western Oregon where the high was 24 degrees, it did a good job of keeping me warm and the light weight and packability of it was nice when I was working hard and needed to shed some layers. I think I'm going to try the brimmed beanie as it seems to fit a little better. All in all a good product but just short of great.

Great product

I know al my reviews sound the same, but all of they products carry the same quality, warmth, protection, you name it. Items like these have made me a believer. I just with the military would move to this quality, especially the way these items wick and then dry.

Strange design
5
This hat fits me fine (7 1/4 fitted hat size). Its a strange cut and fit, on my head it bunches/wrinkles up like in the pictures. It does cover my ears but i could see with someone with a bigger head how the design of this would be too small. Other than that its still as merino beanie and merino does what its supposed to do.

Perfect
5
Really great fit, its not so tight that I need to take it off and not so loose that I need to hold it on when I'm riding a UTV/ATV. Kept me warm in fog and rain when I was just sitting on a recent hunting trip. All in all very good product.

Runs small
5
The beanie runs a little small but can be stretched to cover your ears. Same comfort as the brimmed beanie. Only down fall is having to stretch it out to get it to fit right.

Great fit, works great all day from cold to warm. Love it!!!

Poor fit

I agree 100% with Erik. Hat and merino gloves fit very loosely and seem like products Firstlight developed in rush without the craftsmanship of their other products.
- joemsied on 11/21/2014
Terrible fit - sloppy design
For $35, this thing should fit right. It is a shallow cut hat and doesn't provide the coverage that most beanies do. It is also sloppy. I have to use a "pony tail" rubber band in the back to keep it tight to my head. FirstLite does good stuff but this is junk and seems like something they rushed just to round out the product line. The same goes for the merino gloves, sloppy and totally featureless. I doubt the designer of these two items is a hunter. Don't waste your money.

Gets no better!
Best merino wool products on the market.
