The Aerowool Neck Gaiter
"This is just one of those pieces, like the talus fingerless gloves or the merino beanie, that just lives with you and serves multiple purposes aside from hunting. This is one of those overlooked items that stays in my hunting bag. Aside from its intended purpose, I’ve used it as head gear, a face cover, and even a neck warmer with a sore throat with the common cold. Wet it down while fishing and you have yourself a cooling towel during the summer months. I love this piece. I’ve had it for several years, and just now getting around to writing a review. Love this thing!!!"

I have had the jacket for a little over a year and it has held up very well. My main purpose was to use it to block wind upland hunting in SD. It did a great job of that and much more. I could wear it on warmer days and not get overheated. I used it all through hunting season and into late season. In the cold season (low teens-negative), I would wear a base layer, warm sweatshirt and then the jacket. This worked out great for bird hunting. It kept the wind at bay and it didn't restrict movement to bad. The jacket itself fits pretty snug but has great stretch. Also a great jacket for everyday use. The jacket does make a little noise when moving but nothing terrible. Holds up well to briars and barb wire fence as well. Good jacket
Ordered the items as a solid base layer, and warm weather hunts. Fits great, with good ventilation to wick the sweat off. Only part I’m not a huge fan of is how tight the hood is when sliding it over my head. Once it’s on however it fits perfectly over whatever hat I’m wearing. Overall a solid product
I bought these in the fall knowing I’d need them in the winter for chukar and wolf hunting. I was on the fence about spending this much on gaiters but they’ve been more than worth it. I’ve hiked hard with these on and haven’t noticed any wear. My feet are always dry now and I don’t have to worry about the bottoms of my pants being soaked anymore.
If you're looking for an upgraded balaclava to whatever you're currently rocking, then this will almost certainly do the trick. If you're looking to buy your first, then you're probably going to be spoiled and never know the real struggle for the rest of us that sat face-frozen in a tree stand at 19F wondering what we were doing wrong. It's not too heavy that it can't be used (camo pattern) in Spring Gobbler Season but with the appropriate headgear, it can be used in the colder months too. It fits my head perfectly (I like to think I've got a pretty average-sized head) and is easy to clean.
These pants have to be some of the most versatile pieces of clothing that someone can buy. Whether you're packing out or heading into the brush for a single-day hunt, these guys are almost always on me or in my bag. They're extremely comfortable and can act as an extra layer in those colder months but they're also the protection you need in the summer as well. I'll wear them trudging through the woods or just sitting out by a fire planning out the next day's hunt. I have them in multiple colors and patterns and couldn't recommend a better product to have, especially for someone that might be new to First Lite.
