Coming from WI, I'm no stranger to highly variable conditions in October. With warm and sweaty approaches to the stand being common; fast drying, breathable layers are a must. I rely on our merino pieces to keep me dry and cool on the walk to the tree but also warm once on stand. When the cold fronts we all hope for finally roll in, stout midlayers and the silent Catalyst system make for a highly versatile kit; adequate for both deep hikes into public ground or for quick clean approaches on my home farm.
