I picked up the Chama 1/4 zip top in summer of 2011. I wore it religiously throughout the fall. This is the most versatile, tough, comfortable layer I've ever owned. It's extremely light-weight yet provides incredible insulation. The wool is not itchy or irritating and is very resistant to snagging. The zipper/collar is the perfect length to cool off your chest and neck and turn around and cover you up to your ears when temps drop. The thumbholes in the wrists are a great idea--very useful. I'm a huge fan of ASAT. The pattern is effective in lush alpine, pinion juniper or the desert.Zac Griffith
I hunted high country archery mule deer in August, elk in New Mexico, three Coues hunts in AZ & NM, late October WY antelope, late season Colorado mule deer and desert mule deer in January, and a TX Barbary sheep hunt in February. The top was with me on all. It was my outer-layer in all of the hunts. It dries very quickly and is unbelievable at resisting odors. I'm not ashamed that I wore it four or five days straight without washing with detergent. Just hang it in a tree or draped over the bivy and you're good to go in the morning.
